RESUMO
The relationship between benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in elderly men is very close.Although medical therapy plays an important role in the treatment of BPH/LUTS,there are still some unclear and urgent problems in the pharmaceutical treatment, including how to improve patients' symptoms and delay the clinical progression. There are a plenty of medicines for BPH/LUTS treatment, but how to make a reasonable choice, what is the evidence for the combination of those medicines and whether they may cause side effects? This review will focus on these key and controversial problems by literature review.
