RESUMO

Today, the COVID-19 pandemic has paved the way for a more democratic climate in K-12 schools. Administrators and teachers have had to seek out new ways through which to interact. This raises two questions; "What about the quality of interaction and participation in decision-making?" and "Which factors affect the level of participation in decision-making?" The aim of the current research is to determine the factors that predict the applicability level of e-democracy (i.e., "reporting and declaring opinions" and "decision-making") in K-12 schools. An associational research design was used in order to attain the main goal of the study, with Discriminant Function Analysis (DFA) technique used to analyze the factors predicting the applicability level of e-democracy. Data were collected from a total of 765 inservice K-12 teachers through a questionnaire developed by the researchers. DFA results showed "motivation to participate," "the level of participatory democracy in the country," and higher levels of the "use of Twitter" as the significant determinants of different levels of e-democracy application. Moreover, the results also indicated that those participants with the belief of e-democracy's applicability at the decision-making level found the "motivation level of stakeholders" to be the most critical. Their level of Twitter use was higher. They also believed that the level of participatory democracy in the country was at a higher level. Another result of the DFA pointed to "security and ethical issues," and lower levels of the "use of Twitter" as factors differentiating the group believing that e-democracy can be applicable with reporting and the declaration of opinions to administrators from the other groups. The discussions highlighted the critical role of participation level in e-democracy within K-12 schools.

RESUMO

As an educational aid, the Korean government has developed and funded a graduate-level global information telecommunications technology program (ITTP) for ICT officers in developing countries. Questions have arisen about whether the program can achieve its goals and obtain mutual benefits between Korea and participating nations. Using a total quality management (TQM) framework as a unique case analysis, we evaluated ITTP's resources and performance from 2006 to 2014. Our results show that ITTP has focused on the quantitative promotion of students and alums from various countries and their learning of Korea-centric ICT, policies, and culture. In particular, the Korean government's lax evaluation of ITTP performance has led to weak responsibility, ambiguous task identity, missed opportunities for self-improvement, and low participation among students and stakeholders. These findings highlight the need for graduate programs and their stakeholders to reinforce internal and external evaluations of the program's performance and provide feedback for reciprocal development.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic changed and disrupted education at medical universities. Educational managers face new challenges and special complexities to manage this situation. This study aimed to explain the experiences of educational managers of Iranian medical universities in the early COVID-19 pandemic. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This descriptive-qualitative study was conducted at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, 2020-2021. The study population included all educational managers in one of the positions of the dean of the faculty, educational Vice-Chancellor, head of the department, and other relevant educational directors in medical sciences universities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data collected from semi-structured interviews were analyzed in MAXQDA2020 software using the thematic analysis approach. RESULTS: Four main themes and nine subthemes were identified: "The ups and downs of the transition from face-to-face training to virtual training," "Crisis in educational management," "Testing and Evaluation: Obstacles and Problems," "Education and lessons learned from COVID-19." CONCLUSION: Themes identified from the experiences of educational managers provide new information about the negative and positive effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the learning and teaching process of medical sciences students. Lessons learned and experiences of educational managers in medical sciences universities amid the COVID-19 pandemic will help health education policymakers so that they can create transformation and innovation in the education of medical science students. Strengthening the e-learning infrastructure will help to create a foundation for a rich way of educating medical students in the post-corona era and when the outbreak of other emerging diseases is inevitable in the future.

RESUMO

In the university education system, the evaluation and provision of two-way teacher-student feedback are tools within the control function of educational management. Feedback can be defined as the process that takes place in the context of teacher-student interaction during university courses, both individually and in groups, for the development and achievement of the performance of the two actors involved through evaluation, appreciation, support, perception, and teaching. The research aims to develop an innovative feedback tool for the higher education engineering sector to support the improvement of learning outcome-oriented curricula and teaching activities to better meet the learning needs of Gen Z students while being relevant to the labor market and to society in general. The research had a number of subjects: 246 students (67.5% women, 32.5% men) and 7 teachers to whom two feedback instruments were applied (the SKS instrument and the standard instrument of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu). After testing the four hypotheses, it was observed that the feedback provided by Gen Z is focused on four areas of competence: psychological, pedagogical, education management, and general impression. Each field includes a set of professional and transversal competencies. The SKS (STOP, KEEP, and START) evaluation form is more reliable in evaluating different disciplines than the standard evaluation form by providing a more homogenous type of feedback for each discipline or teacher.

RESUMO

The aim of this research is to evaluate and analyze the managerial processes applied in special education institutions operated by public and private enterprises that provide special educational needs in different countries to determine problems and develop solution proposals with a new educational management model. The quantitative data for the study were collected using the "Management Processes Scale in School Management" which was created by Gregg, and the data used in the research belong to the academic years 2020-2021. In line with the collected data, the views of 45 managers and 130 teachers across North Cyprus, Turkey, and the UK were collated. Empirical results imply that all managerial processes are strongly related to the teachers' perspective, and for managers' decision-making, organization, evaluation are favorably related to effective management in all countries.

RESUMO

To ensure inclusive, equitable quality education, and encourage educational opportunities for lifelong learning worldwide; the United Nations set sustainable development goals (SDG) to achieve quality education. Thus, using SDG 4 quality education and system theory, this research seeks to identify the effects of educational management on quality education in rural and urban primary schools in Ghana. Moreover, the mediating role of internet facilities in educational management and quality education relationhsip has been discussed. Thus, 745 urban and 471 rural head teachers and teachers from Ghana participated in an online survey. The data was compiled and executed by structural equation model using SPSS-AMOS. The result reveals that educational management has a positive effect on quality education in urban and rural schools. In addition, urban schools have more quality education than rural schools. Although internet facilities have a positive effect on quality education their absence weakens the quality of education in urban and rural schools. Moreover, it is recommended that the Ministry of Education should arrange professional training for supervisors and head teachers to boost their monitoring and supervision strategies. Furthermore, Parents Teacher Associations can provide funding to support the monitoring and supervision activities to achieve success. Lastly, quality internet facilities should be built with limited charges in rural and urban schools.

RESUMO

The concept of educational organizational climate relates to the relational, social, psychological, affective, intellectual, cultural and moral environment that characterizes educational/teaching and managerial activity at the level of a school organization. This study is based on the theory of planned behavior framework in measuring preschool teachers' intentional integrative-qualitative behaviors and Marzano's Model of Teaching Effectiveness. The Marzano Model outlines educational strategies and gives teachers and administrators tools to help teachers become more effective. A sample of 200 valid responses was gathered in an online investigation that targeted preschool educators from Romania. Marzano's Model of Teaching Effectiveness is an evaluation tool used to measure the success of highly effective teachers, which is further utilized in this study to measure preschool teachers' effectiveness in relation to intentional integrative-qualitative behaviors. The integrative-qualitative intentional behaviors are measured with the IQIB scale. This research assumes collegiality and professionalism as independent variables and interrogates preschool teachers' behavioral intention toward adopting integrative-qualitative behaviors through the sequential mediators of Planning and Preparing, Reflecting on Teaching and Classroom Strategies and Behaviors from a top-down perspective. The results revealed a significant indirect effect of Collegiality and Professionalism on preschool teachers' behavioral intention toward adopting intentional integrative-qualitative behaviors through the sequential mediators Planning and Preparing, Reflecting on Teaching and Classroom Strategies and Behaviors, confirming our hypothesis. Discussion and implications are offered from a top-down sustainable educational management perspective.

RESUMO

Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, virtual education was proposed globally. This study aimed to examine the views and experiences of nursing students regarding quality, quantity, e-learning challenges, and solutions. This is a qualitative study using a purposive sampling method in which 42 nursing students were included. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured face-to-face or telephone interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Concepts that were raised in the experience of nursing students were: "Incompatibility of educational processes", including ineffective teaching methods, limited interaction, limited feedback, low creativity, and educational injustice. "Loss of opportunities" including lack of clinical competence, concern for job opportunities, and lack of time management. "Imposed burnout", including forced labor and personal protection. "Personal helplessness", including lack of access to electronic facilities, struggles with the coronavirus, unemployment, and family conflicts. The enforcement of e-learning imposed restrictions on students with different conditions. Older students, those living in rural areas, students with work and family responsibilities, and people with limited electronic resources experienced challenges that require educational management based on challenges. Because e-learning goes beyond COVID-19 and given the continuing trend in e-learning in the coming years, it is necessary to address these challenges.

RESUMO

The Covid-19 pandemic has emphasized the role of educational management information systems (EMIS) for quality management (QM) in higher education, and set new directions for post-pandemic studies. Successful implementation of QM processes depends largely on managers' perceptions about quality and educational technology. However, higher education managers' profiles regarding these quality perceptions and their EMIS acceptance have been insufficiently investigated so far. In response to this research gap, we identified such profiles based on a quantitative survey of N = 70 managers from Chilean higher education institutions during the Covid-19 pandemic. A cluster analysis revealed three distinct manager types: "Elders" (oldest participants, almost equally distributed across positions, with least frequent EMIS access, moderate EMIS acceptance, and highest QM perceptions), "Mediators" (in operational and middle-management positions, with moderately frequent access to EMIS, and lowest EMIS acceptance and QM perceptions), and "Working Bees" (younger females in operational positions, with most frequent EMIS access, highest EMIS acceptance, and moderate QM perceptions). Knowledge of these profiles may enable customized training in the recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.

RESUMO

With the launch of the Education Informatization 2.0 action plan by the Ministry of Education, a large number of college information systems have been born in China. Most of these systems are single page web applications (SPA) based on traditional MVC structures. Due to the complex logic and high coupling between educational businesses, developers need to write a lot of code. The education information system has many businesses and high coupling between businesses that the system often face problems such as bloated frontend businesses, iterative system updates, and difficult incremental function developments. Combined with the idea of service-oriented architecture, this paper proposes a micro frontends solution and applies it to the new generation of graduate information platform of East China Normal University, which has better agile development capabilities. From the aspects of service separation, efficient development, and incremental upgrade, this paper verifies that the architecture can well adapt to the needs of future educational management information system. The design of the micro frontends provides a new idea for the development of a new generation of education information system.

The competency-based approach has been applied throughout the educational sector, and has taken the university course where it has stepped strongly. This is due to job offers where skills are essential. The competency-based approach has managed to reorient professional training from the preparation of entry and exit profiles, curricular designs, methodological strategies and evaluation systems that are different from traditional approaches. That is why online management is emerging as a novel tool that could address the problem of attendance in these current times, not only due to the effects of pandemics, such as the coronavirus, but also due to the dynamics of today's society. As the management of education is a reality that requires skills, then we would be talking about digital skills, to be able to take on the challenge and the reality of being able to manage virtually or online. On the other hand, the development of primary skills combined today with digital skills has meant that certain scientific disciplines have made significant progress, and one of them is the epidemiological diseases associated with tropical diseases. In this work, the necessary skills to face tropical infectious diseases are established and assigned, and the effect of online management in this same sector is also evaluated. The results showed that the Peruvian system is prepared for these new challenges, and the participation of new digital technologies is accepted(AU)

ABSTRACT This research aimed to analyze the differences in the academic performance of rural Colombian educational institutions that served students belonging to ethnic minorities concerning other rural institutions. Using an ordinal logistic model, the association between the characteristics of the schools and the context is estimated with low-, medium-, or high-performance in the 2019 Saber 11 standardized tests. Seven out of ten educational institutions with students of ethnic minorities had a low achievement. In contrast, four out of ten students had low performance in the rest of the rural educational institutions. Low access to adequate infrastructure and qualified teachers significantly affected students' academic performance. In addition, the lower educational achievement was associated with the implementation of flexible educational models, the absence of administrative support personnel, and the small size of the educational centers that served ethnic minorities. Therefore, it is recommended to prioritize improvements in educational infrastructure, teacher training, and school management to reduce educational achievement gaps.

WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN IN THIS AREA • Research suggests that traditional GP. SHO education has little or no contact with general practice during the hospital years, something viewed negatively by GP trainees. It also Suggests that the quality of training is variable, due, among other things, to heavy service commitment, and the lack of structured educational input and support. WHAT THIS WORK ADDS • This study reports a pilot of an innovative training programme that sought to address the problems previously identified with traditional GP SHO training. The posts were found to be popular and successful, offering integrated training between primary and secondary care' during the SHO years. SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH • Innovative training posts offer a much-needed way to extend the menu of training opportunities for general. practice, and further work is needed 18 explore-how they can be developed forther, as well as to continue to monitor the quality and development of the trust-attached posts now in existence in Severn and Wessex.

RESUMO

WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN IN THIS AREA • Research indicates that Protected Learning Time (PLT) events in primary care enable professionals to network and share ideas. • A variety of educational techniques have been shown to improve performance of: individual practitioners in other settings. • Beyond one-off examples, there is little published evidence that PLT helps to improve practice. WHAT THIS WORK ADDS • It describes a range of ways in which PLT has impacted on practice at the level of the individual, the team and the wider organisation. • It highlights the main benefits of large event PLT according to participants at a Berkshire initiative. The benefits include increased awareness of services, increased understanding of illnesses and improved treatment. SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH • Do large PLT events have different outcomes from practice-based PLT? • How does PLT impact on the development of a learning culture? • How can large; learning events best meet the needs of different groups of professionals? • What impact, if any, does the closure of surgeries for PLT have on use of out-of-hours services or subsequent workload?

Introduction: Research about leadership has developed theories that, for the most part, coincide with the fact that it is a professional competence through which it is feasible to guide and drive teams and/or followers towards a goal, through motivating and energetic relationships. The leader influence guarantees a meaning to this mission, catalyzing the potential of the followers and triggering self-motivational processes in the collective. Objective: To identify leadership styles through self-perception evaluated in university students of health sciences. Methods: The "Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire" was applied to 109 students. The predominant leadership style was identified, according to the theory of Bass and Avolio (transformational, transactional, and passive-evasive leadership), using a multiple and mediational regression analysis. Results: In medical students, a beta coefficient of 0.50 was reached with R2 of 63 percent between transformational leadership and the outcome variables. Transformational leadership had a greater direct effect on extra effort (coefficient=0.85). In the female gender, the direct effect towards the outcome variables was higher than in the male gender. Conclusions: The study allowed to try the tool "Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire" for evaluating leadership profiles in undergraduate students and to know their predominant characteristics(AU)

Based on research praxis in the field of Psychoanalysis and Education studies, in which the denial of the impossible dimension of educating returns as the impotence of knowledge and failure, this article puts in suspicion the apparatus of school management and evaluation which it provides support for what is considered a true political-pedagogical imposture in the Brazilian fashion: standardized educational assessments associated with performance goals and school accountability devices. The reflection on the "evaluative furor" refers to the symbolic denial in the socio-political field as a social symptom implicated in Brazilian education. In spite of what one might think of the national pedagogical imaginary, the "evaluative furor" is inscribed in the register of a fantasy of access to unlimited enjoyment - insofar as it evaluates exactly what is not taught - a portrait of this search for excessive enjoyment related to "fantasy of Brazil".
