RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Existing therapeutic strategies are challenged by long times to achieve effect and often require frequent administration. Peanut-allergic individuals would benefit from a therapeutic that provides rapid protection against accidental exposure within days of administration while carrying little risk of adverse reactions. OBJECTIVE: Guided by the repertoire of human IgE mAbs from allergic individuals, we sought to develop a treatment approach leveraging the known protective effects of allergen-specific IgG4 antibodies. METHODS: We applied our single-cell RNA-sequencing SEQ SIFTER platform (IgGenix, Inc, South San Francisco, Calif) to whole blood samples from peanut-allergic individuals to discover IgE mAbs. These were then class-switched by replacing the IgE constant region with IgG4 while retaining the allergen-specific variable regions. In vitro mast cell activation tests, basophil activation tests, ELISAs, and an in vivo peanut allergy mouse model were used to evaluate the specificity, affinity, and activity of these recombinant IgG4 mAbs. RESULTS: We determined that human peanut-specific IgE mAbs predominantly target immunodominant epitopes on Ara h 2 and Ara h 6 and that recombinant IgG4 mAbs effectively block these epitopes. IGNX001, a mixture of 2 such high-affinity IgG4 mAbs, provided robust protection against peanut-mediated mast cell activation in vitro as well as against anaphylaxis upon intragastric peanut challenge in a peanut allergy mouse model. CONCLUSIONS: We developed a peanut-specific IgG4 antibody therapeutic with convincing preclinical efficacy starting from a large repertoire of human IgE mAbs from demographically and geographically diverse individuals. These results warrant further clinical investigation of IGNX001 and underscore the opportunity for the application of this therapeutic development strategy in other food and environmental allergies.
RESUMO
Defect engineering of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is a promising strategy for tailoring the interfacial characteristics between MOFs and polymers, aiming to create high-performance mixed matrix membranes (MMMs). This study introduces a new approach using dual defective alkylamine (AA)-modulated zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (DAZIF-8), to develop high-flux MMMs. Tributylamine (TBA) and triethylamine (TEA) monodentate ligands coordinate with zinc ions in varying compositions. A mixture of Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O:2-methylimidazole (Mim):AA in a 1:1.75:5 molar ratio facilitates high-yield coordination between Zn and multiple organic ligands, including Zn-Mim, Zn-TEA, and Zn-TBA (>80%). Remarkably, DAZIF-8 containing 3 mol% TBA and 2 mol% TEA exhibits exceptional characteristics, such as a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 1745 m2 g-1 and enhanced framework rigidity. Furthermore, dual Zn-AA coordination sites on the framework's outer surface enhance compatibility with the polyimide (PI) matrix through electron donor-acceptor interactions, enabling the fabrication of high-loading MMMs with excellent mechanical durability. Importantly, the PI/DAZIF-8 (60/40 w/w) MMM demonstrates an unprecedented 759% enhancement in ethylene (C2H4) permeability (281 Barrer) with a moderate ethylene/ethane (C2H4/C2H6) selectivity of 2.95 compared to the PI, surpassing the polymeric upper limit for C2H4/C2H6 separation.
RESUMO
Developing high-performance porous materials to separate ethane from ethylene is an important but challenging task in the chemical industry, given their similar sizes and physicochemical properties. Herein, a new type of ultra-strong C2H6 nano-trap, CuIn(3-ain)4 is presented, which utilizes multiple guest-host interactions to efficiently capture C2H6 molecules and separate mixtures of C2H6 and C2H4. The ultra-strong C2H6 nano-trap exhibits the high C2H6 (2.38 mmol g-1) uptake at 6.25 kPa and 298 K and demonstrates a remarkable selectivity of 3.42 for C2H6/C2H4 (10:90). Additionally, equimolar C2H6/C2H4 exhibited a superior high separation potential ∆Q (2286 mmol L-1) at 298 K. Kinetic adsorption tests demonstrated that CuIn(3-ain)4 has a high adsorption rate for C2H6, establishing it as a new benchmark material for the capture of C2H6 and the separation of C2H6/C2H4. Notably, this exceptional performance is maintained even at a higher temperature of 333 K, a phenomenon not observed before. Theoretical simulations and single-crystal X-ray diffraction provide critical insights into how selective adsorption properties can be tuned by manipulating pore dimensions and geometry. The excellent separation performance of CuIn(3-ain)4 has been confirmed through breakthrough experiments for C2H6/C2H4 gas mixtures.
RESUMO
The H6 subtype of avian influenza virus (AIV) is a pervasive subtype that is ubiquitously found in both wild bird and poultry populations across the globe. Recent investigations have unveiled its capacity to infect mammals, thereby expanding its host range beyond that of other subtypes and potentially facilitating its global transmission. This heightened breadth also endows H6 AIVs with the potential to serve as a genetic reservoir for the emergence of highly pathogenic avian influenza strains through genetic reassortment and adaptive mutations. Furthermore, alterations in key amino acid loci within the H6 AIV genome foster the evolution of viral infection mechanisms, which may enable the virus to surmount interspecies barriers and infect mammals, including humans, thus posing a potential threat to human well-being. In this review, we summarize the origins, dissemination patterns, geographical distribution, cross-species transmission dynamics, and genetic attributes of H6 influenza viruses. This study holds implications for the timely detection and surveillance of H6 AIVs.

In peanut allergy, Arachis hypogaea 2 (Ara h 2) and Arachis hypogaea 6 (Ara h 6) are two clinically relevant peanut allergens with known structural and sequence homology and demonstrated cross-reactivity. We have previously utilized X-ray crystallography and epitope binning to define the epitopes on Ara h 2. We aimed to quantitatively characterize the cross-reactivity between Ara h 2 and Ara h 6 on a molecular level using human monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and structural characterization of allergenic epitopes. We utilized mAbs cloned from Ara h 2 positive single B cells isolated from peanut-allergic, oral immunotherapy-treated patients to quantitatively analyze cross-reactivity between recombinant Ara h 2 (rAra h 2) and Ara h 6 (rAra h 6) proteins using biolayer interferometry and indirect inhibitory ELISA. Molecular dynamics simulations assessed time-dependent motions and interactions in the antibody-antigen complexes. Three epitopes-conformational epitopes 1.1 and 3, and the sequential epitope KRELRNL/KRELMNL-are conserved between Ara h 2 and Ara h 6, while two more conformational and three sequential epitopes are not. Overall, mAb affinity was significantly lower to rAra h 6 than it was to rAra h 2. This difference in affinity was primarily due to increased dissociation of the antibodies from rAra h 6, a phenomenon explained by the higher conformational flexibility of the Ara h 6-antibody complexes in comparison to Ara h 2-antibody complexes. Our results further elucidate the cross-reactivity of peanut 2S albumins on a molecular level and support the clinical immunodominance of Ara h 2.

H6 avian influenza virus is widely prevalent in wild birds and poultry and has caused human infection in 2013 in Taiwan, China. During our active influenza surveillance program in wild waterfowl at Poyang Lake, Jiangxi Province, an H6N2 AIV was isolated and named A/bean goose/JiangXi/452-4/2013(H6N2). The isolate was characterized as a typical low pathogenic avian influenza virus (LPAIV) due to the presence of the amino acid sequence PQIETR↓GLFGAI at the cleavage site of the hemagglutinin (HA) protein. The genetic evolution analysis revealed that the NA gene of the isolate originated from North America and exhibited the highest nucleotide identity (99.29%) with a virus recovered from wild bird samples in North America, specifically A/bufflehead/California/4935/2012(H11N2). Additionally, while the HA and PB1 genes belonged to the Eurasian lineage, they displayed frequent genetic interactions with the North American lineage. The remaining genes showed close genetic relationships with Eurasian viruses. The H6N2 isolate possessed a complex genome, indicating it is a multi-gene recombinant virus with genetic material from both Eurasian and North American lineages.

The presence of light hydrocarbons (HCs) in diesel exhaust, specifically C3H6, significantly affects the performance of the state-of-the-art Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite NH3-SCR catalysts. It also leads to the formation of highly toxic HCN, posing risks to the environment and human health. In this work, the highly toxic HCN formation is inhibited, and the C3H6 resistance of Cu-SSZ-13 is improved by secondary metal modification via doping with rare earth/transition metal elements. Upon introduction of C3H6, the activity of Cu-SSZ-13 significantly decreases at medium-high temperatures. This is primarily due to the competitive reaction between C3H6 and NH3, which compete for the NH3 reductant required in the NH3-SCR reaction, resulting in the production of HCN. The unfavorable effect is alleviated on the modified catalysts due to their enhanced oxidation capabilities toward C3H6 and the HCHO intermediate, facilitating the complete oxidation of C3H6 to COx. This inhibits the undesirable partial oxidation reaction between C3H6 and NH3, thereby improving the activity of Cu-SSZ-13 at medium to high temperatures and significantly reducing the formation of highly toxic HCN.

Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) threaten both the environment and human health. To realize the elimination of VOCs, Ru/CeO2 catalysts have been intensively investigated and applied. Although it has been widely acknowledged that the catalytic performance of platinum group metal catalysts was highly determined by their dispersion and coordination environment, the most reactive structures on Ru/CeO2 catalysts for VOCs oxidation are still ambiguous. In this work, starting from Ce-BTC (BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) materials, atomically dispersed Ru catalysts and agglomerated Ru catalysts were successfully created via one-step hydrothermal method (Ru-CeO2-BTC) and conventional incipient wetness impregnation method (Ru/CeO2-BTC), respectively. In a typical model reaction of C3H6 oxidation, atomically dispersed Ruδ+ species with the formation of abundant Ru-O-Ce linkages on Ru-CeO2-BTC were found to perform much better than agglomerated RuOx species on Ru/CeO2-BTC. Further characterizations and mechanism study disclosed that Ru-CeO2-BTC catalyst with atomically dispersed Ru ions and more superior low temperature redox performance compared to Ru/CeO2-BTC could better facilitate the adsorption/activation of C3H6 and the decomposition/desorption of intermediates, thus exhibiting superior C3H6 oxidation activity. This work elucidated the reactive sites on Ru/CeO2 catalysts in the C3H6 oxidation reaction and provided insightful guidance for designing efficient Ru/CeO2 catalysts to eliminate VOCs.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is among the malignant brain tumors of the central nervous system (CNS). The survival of this disease is about 14 months after diagnosis. To date, temozolomide is known as first-line therapy for glioma. Drug resistance and severe side effects against this drug are important obstacles to the effective treatment of this cancer. Small interfering RNA (siRNA) can adjust the expression of several genes and is used as a new method of gene therapy. Recent studies have shown that siRNAs can increase the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapy drugs. This study aimed to understand the potential role and molecular mechanism of the combination therapy of B7H6-siRNA and temozolomide in glioblastoma cancer. U87 cells were treated with B7H6-siRNA and temozolomide, separately and in combination. Cell viability, stemness, cell migration, and apoptosis were measured. The results of this work presented the synergistic effect of B7H6-siRNA and temozolomide in inhibiting the cancerous features of the U87 cell line. Down-regulating B7H6-siRNA expression inhibited the cell viability of U87 glioblastoma cancer cells and increased their sensitivity to temozolomide. In addition, a noteworthy decrease in cell migration ability and stemness, an increase in apoptosis were observed in the combined groups compared to B7H6-siRNA and temozolomide individually. According to the results, a combination of B7H6-siRNA and temozolomide can be a promising strategy in glioblastoma cancer therapy.

BACKGROUND: Sepsis is an infection-related systemic inflammatory response that often leads to elevated lactate levels. Monitoring lactate levels during severe sepsis is vital for influencing clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to assess the association between plasma lactate levels and mortality in children with severe sepsis or septic shock. METHODS: The current prospective study was conducted in the PICU of University Children's Hospital. The International Paediatric Sepsis Consensus Conference criteria for Definitions of Sepsis and Organ Failure in 2005 were used to diagnose patients with sepsis. We measured plasma lactate levels upon admission (Lac H0) and 6 h later (Lac H6). The static indices included the absolute lactate values (Lac H0 and Lac H6), while the dynamic indices included the delta-lactate level (ΔLac) and the 6-hour lactate clearance. The 6-hour lactate clearance was calculated using the following formula: [(Lac H0-Lac H6)100/Lac H0]. ΔLac was calculated as the difference between the Lac H0 and Lac H6 levels. Patient survival or death after a PICU stay was the primary outcome. RESULTS: A total of 46 patients were included in this study: 25 had septic shock, and 21 had severe sepsis. The mortality rate was 54.3%. The Lac H0 did not significantly differ between survivors and nonsurvivors. In contrast, the survivors had significantly lower Lac H6 levels, higher ΔLac levels, and higher 6-hour lactate clearance rates than nonsurvivors. Lactate clearance rates below 10%, 20%, and 30% were significantly associated with mortality. The best cut-off values for the lactate clearance rate and Lac H6 for the prediction of mortality in the PICU were < 10% and ≥ 4 mmol/L, respectively. Patients with higher Lac H6 levels and lower lactate clearance rates had significantly higher PICU mortality based on Kaplan-Meier survival curve analysis. CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the significance of lactate level trends over time for the prediction of mortality in the PICU in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. Elevated lactate levels and decreased lactate clearance six hours after hospitalisation are associated with a higher mortality rate.

Cancer therapies have evolved from traditional chemotherapy to more precise molecular-targeted immunotherapies, which have been associated with improved side effects and outcomes. These modern strategies rely on cancer-specific biomarkers that differentiate malignant from normal cells. The B7 family of immune checkpoint molecules is crucial for cancer immune evasion and a prime therapeutic target. B7-H6, a recently identified member of the B7 family, has emerged as a promising therapeutic target. Unlike other B7 proteins, B7-H6 is not expressed in healthy tissues but is upregulated in several cancers. It binds to NKp30, activating natural killer (NK) cells and triggering immune responses against cancer cells. This review explores the expression of B7-H6 in different cancers, the factors that regulate its expression, and its intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. Additionally, we discuss potential anticancer therapies targeting B7-H6, highlighting its significance in advancing precision medicine. Understanding the role of B7-H6 in cancer immunity may inform the development of appropriate therapies that exploit its cancer-specific expression.

Molecular sieving is an ideal separation mechanism, but controlling pore size, restricting framework flexibility, and avoiding strong adsorption are all very challenging. Here, we report a flexible adsorbent showing molecular sieving at ambient temperature and high pressure, even under high humidity. While typical guest-induced transformations are observed, a high transition pressure of 16.6â atm is observed for C2H4 at 298â K because of very weak C2H4 adsorption (~16â kJ mol-1). Also, C2H6 is completely excluded below the pore-opening pressure of 7.7â atm, giving single-component selectivity of ca. 300. Quantitative high-pressure column breakthrough experiments using 1 : 1â C2H4/C2H6 mixtures at 10â atm as input confirm molecular sieving with C2H4 adsorption of 0.73â mmol g-1 or 32â cm3(STP) cm-3 and negligible C2H6 adsorption of 0.001(2) mmol g-1, and the adsorbent can be completely regenerated by inert gas purging. Furthermore, it is highly hydrophobic with negligible water adsorption, and the C2H4/C2H6 separation performance is unaffected at high humidity.
RESUMO
The one-step efficient separation of high-purity C2H4 from C2H4/C2H6 mixtures by hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) faces two problems: lack of strategies for constructing stable pores in HOFs and how to obtain high C2H6 selectivity. Herein, we have developed a microporous Mortise-Tenon-type HOF (MTHOF-1, MT is short for Mortise-Tenon structure) with a new self-assembly mode for C2H4/C2H6 separation. Unlike previous HOFs which usually possess discrete head-to-head hydrogen bonds, MTHOF-1 is assembled by unique consecutive side-by-side hydrogen bonds, which result in mortise-and-tenon pores decorated with orderly arranged amide groups and benzene rings. As expected, MTHOF-1 exhibits excellent stability under various conditions and shows clear separation trends for C2H6/C2H4. The IAST selectivity is as high as 2.15 at 298â K. More importantly, dynamic breakthrough experiments have demonstrated that MTHOF-1 can effectively separate the C2H6/C2H4 feed gas to obtain polymer-grade C2H4 in one step even under high-humidity conditions.
RESUMO
The NKp30 receptor is one of the three natural cytotoxic receptors reported in NK cells. This receptor is codified by the NCR3 gene, which encodes three isoforms, a consequence of the alternative splicing of exon 4. A greater expression of the three isoforms (A, B, and C), along with low levels of the NKp30 ligand B7H6, has been reported as a positive prognostic factor in different cancer types. Here, in patients with cervical cancer and precursor lesions, we report an altered immune-phenotype, characterized by non-fitness markers, that correlated with increased disease stage, from CIN 1 to FIGO IV. While overall NK cell numbers increased, loss of NKp30+ NK cells, especially in the CD56dim subpopulation, was found. Perforin levels were decreased in these cells. Decreased expression of the NKp30 C isoform and overexpression of soluble B7H6 was found in cervical cancer patients when compared against healthy subjects. PBMCs from healthy subjects downregulated NKp30 isoforms after co-culture with B7H6-expressing tumour cells. Taken together, these findings describe a unique down-modulation or non-fitness status of the immune response in cervical cancer, the understanding of which will be important for the design of novel immunotherapies against this disease.

The pore dimension and surface property directly dictate the transport of guests, endowing diverse gas selective adsorptions to porous materials. It is highly relevant to construct metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with designable functional groups that can achieve feasible pore regulation to improve their separation performances. However, the role of functionalization in different positions or degrees within framework on the separation of light hydrocarbon has rarely been emphasized. In this context, four isoreticular MOFs (TKL-104-107) bearing dissimilar fluorination are rationally screened out and afforded intriguing differences in the adsorption behavior of C2 H6 and C2 H4 . Ortho-fluoridation of carboxyl allows TKL-105-107 to exhibit enhanced structural stabilities, impressive C2 H6 adsorption capacities (>125 cm3 g-1 ) and desirable inverse selectivities (C2 H6 over C2 H4 ). The more modified ortho-fluorine group and meta-fluorine group of carboxyl have improved the C2 H6 /C2 H4 selectivity and adsorption capacity, respectively, and the C2 H6 /C2 H4 separation potential can be well optimized via linker fine-fluorination. Meanwhile, dynamic breakthrough experiments proved that TKL-105-107 can be used as highly efficient C2 H6 -selective adsorbents for C2 H4 purification. This work highlights that the purposeful functionalization of pore surfaces facilitates the assembly of highly efficient MOF adsorbents for specific gas separation.

Nanoporous single-crystal silicon carbide (SiC) is widely used in various applications such as protein dialysis, as a catalyst support, and in photoanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting. However, the fabrication of nano-structured SiC is challenging owing to its extreme chemical and mechanical stability. This study demonstrates a highly-efficient, open-circuit electrolytic plasma-assisted chemical etching (EPACE) method without aggressive fluorine-containing reactants. The EPACE method enables the nano-structuring of SiC via a plasma-enveloped microtool traversing over the target material in an electrolyte bath. Through process design, EPACE readily produces a uniform nanoporous layer on a 4H-SiC wafer in KOH aqueous solution, with adjustable pore diameters in the range 40-130 nm. Plasma diagnosis by optical emission spectrometry (OES) and surface microanalysis reveal that EPACE realizes a nanoporous structure by electrolytic plasma-assisted oxidation and subsequent thermochemical reduction of an oxide. An increase in voltage or a decrease in etch gap intensifies the plasma and improves the etching efficiency. The maximum etch rate and depth reach 540 nm min-1 and 10 µm, respectively, demonstrating the significant potential of the approach as a time-saving and sustainable nanofabrication method for industrial applications. Further, the effectiveness of the fabricated SiC nanoporous structure for application in photoelectrochemical water splitting is demonstrated.

Steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGAs) constitute a characteristic class of antinutritional metabolites that are found in certain Solanum species. Despite the considerable studies on SGA biosynthesis, the mechanisms of crosstalk between hormone signaling pathways that regulate SGA content still remain to be elucidated. Here, we performed a metabolic genome-wide association study (mGWAS) based on the levels of SGA metabolites and identified SlERF.H6 as a negative regulator of bitter-SGA biosynthesis. SlERF.H6 repressed the expression of SGA biosynthetic glycoalkaloid metabolism (GAME) genes and caused a subsequent decrease in the abundance of bitter SGAs. Furthermore, SlERF.H6 were shown to act downstream of GAME9, a regulator of SGA biosynthesis in tomato. We also uncovered the interplay between ethylene and gibberellin (GA) signaling in regulating SGA biosynthesis. SlERF.H6, acting as a downstream component in ethylene signaling, modulated GA content by inhibiting SlGA2ox12 expression. Increasing levels of endogenous GA12 and GA53 in SlERF.H6-OE could inhibit of GA on SGA biosynthesis. Additionally, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) treatment decreased the stability of SlERF.H6, weakening its inhibition on GAME genes and SlGA2ox12, and caused bitter-SGA accumulation. Our findings reveal a key role of SlERF.H6 in the regulation of SGA biosynthesis through the coordinated ethylene-gibberellin signaling.

BACKGROUND: Recombinant proteins cover a wide range of biomedical, biotechnological, and industrial needs. Although there are diverse available protocols for their purification from cell extracts or from culture media, many proteins of interest such as those containing cationic domains are difficult to purify, a fact that results in low yields of the final functional product. Unfortunately, this issue prevents the further development and industrial or clinical application of these otherwise interesting products. RESULTS: Aiming at improving the purification of such difficult proteins, a novel procedure has been developed based on supplementing crude cell extracts with non-denaturing concentrations of the anionic detergent N-Lauroylsarcosine. The incorporation of this simple step in the downstream pipeline results in a substantial improvement of the protein capture by affinity chromatography, an increase of protein purity and an enhancement of the overall process yield, being the detergent not detectable in the final product. CONCLUSION: By taking this approach, which represents a smart repurposing of N-Lauroylsarcosine applied to protein downstream, the biological activity of the protein is not affected. Being technologically simple, the N-Lauroylsarcosine-assisted protein purification might represent a critical improvement in recombinant protein production with wide applicability, thus smothering the incorporation of promising proteins into the protein market.

The inner-valence ionization and fragmentation dynamics of CH4-C6H6dimer induced by 200 eV electron impact is studied utilizing a multi-particle coincidence momentum spectroscopy. The three-dimensional momentum vectors and kinetic energy release (KER) of the CH4++C6H6+ion pairs are obtained by coincident momentum measurement. Our analysis on the absolute cross sections indicates that the intermediate dication CH4+-C6H6+is preferentially produced by the removal of an inner-valence electron from CH4or C6H6and subsequent relaxation of ultrafast intermolecular Coulombic decay followed by two-body Coulomb explosion. Combining withab initiomolecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations, the real-time fragmentation dynamics including translational, vibrational and rotational motions are presented as a function of propagation time. The revealed fragmentation dynamics are expected to have a potential implication for crystal structure imaging with various radiation sources.

BACKGROUND: Contribution of conformational epitopes to the IgE reactivity of peanut allergens Ara h 2 and Ara h 6 is at least as important as that of the linear epitopes. However, little is known about these conformational IgE-binding epitopes. OBJECTIVE: We investigated the distribution of conformational epitopes on chimeric 2S-albumins. METHODS: Recombinant chimeras were generated by exchanging structural segments between Ara h 2 and Ara h 6. Well-refolded chimeras, as verified by circular dichroism analysis, were then used to determine the epitope specificity of mAbs by performing competitive inhibition of IgG binding. Furthermore, we delineated the contribution of each segment to the overall IgE reactivity of both 2S-albumins by measuring the chimeras' IgE-binding capacity with sera from 21 patients allergic to peanut. We finally assessed chimeras' capacity to trigger mast cell degranulation. RESULTS: Configuration of the conformational epitopes was preserved in the chimeras. Mouse IgG mAbs, raised against natural Ara h 6, and polyclonal human IgE antibodies recognized different conformational epitopes distributed all along Ara h 6. In contrast, we identified human IgG mAbs specific to different Ara h 2 linear or conformational epitopes located in all segments except the C-terminal one. The major conformational IgE-binding epitope of Ara h 2 was located in a segment located between residues 33 and 81 that also contains the major linear hydroxyproline-containing epitope. Accordingly, this segment is critical for the capacity of Ara h 2 to induce mast cell degranulation. CONCLUSIONS: Chimeric 2S-albumins provide new insights on the conformational IgE-binding epitopes of Ara h 2 and Ara h 6. Proximity of the immunodominant linear and conformational IgE-binding epitopes probably contributes to the high allergenic potency of Ara h 2.
