RESUMO

For decades, animal models such as the macaque have been used in the advancement of human medicine and therefore have been subject to extensive trade globally. The sustained need of macaques for research necessitates assessment of the international trade and whether appropriate regulations are in place to safeguard animal welfare, public health and scientific integrity. In this study, we investigated the trade in live macaques (Macaca fascicularis) for commercial, scientific and medical purposes reported through the CITES Trade Database between 2000 and 2020 from selected countries. Discrepancies were evident in the data collected, particularly associated with the quantities of live animals reported by the exporting and importing countries. Of particular interest were the trade discrepancies reported between 2019 and 2020, wherein Cambodia significantly increased their exports of macaques whilst China, traditionally one of the largest suppliers of macaques, ceased all exports. Concurrently there were notable inconsistencies between the macaque trade permitted for export to the United States and the import quantity reported. Such findings suggest that the macaque trade requires more stringent monitoring in order to minimise potential illegal wildlife trade activity and reduce the risk of zoonoses or pathogen spill-over events. Therefore, increased regulation on a global scale is required to ensure that the supply of macaques is legitimate, supports quality research and does not provide an opportunity for future disease outbreaks to occur.

RESUMO

Presently, a variety of policies and measures has implemented to enhance the scientific research and innovation ability of medical students, but in the process of practice, there are many problems, such as they lack of independent topic selection ability, weak scientific research skills, lack of autonomous learning ability, the research results are simple and ineffective, limited teacher guidance time and so on. This paper attempted to build an effective model for the promotion of medical students' scientific research and innovation ability, in order to establish an efficacy evaluation model of the "Medical students' Innovative Scientific Research Program." Undergraduates, graduate assistants, and tutors were interviewed with the Behavioral Event Interview technique, and a questionnaire of efficacy evaluation characteristics concluded from the interviews was formed. The questionnaire was conducted on medical students in the Medical students' Innovative Scientific Research Program, and the constructed model was analyzed using reliability analysis, validity analysis, and variation analysis. At the same time, the experimental teaching models are summarized and combed, and compared with other methods such as independent sample test. The results show the model could effectively evaluate the efficacy of the Medical students' Innovative Scientific Research Program and its teaching model is effective in cultivating medical students' learning and scientific research ability. It can provide theoretical support and practical reference for the evaluation and reform of the teaching modes related to the cultivation of scientific and innovative ability of medical students.

RESUMO

The Laboratory of Pulmonary Diseases at West China Hospital in Sichuan University starts with strengthening the laboratory safety education and research integrity, develops a special individualized experimental skill training, improves communication between project team and laboratory, and promotes the cooperation between the laboratory and university academic community. Combined with the new model of project hierarchical management, the "Innovation and Enterpreneurship Training Programs for Undergraduates" are dynamically evaluated and effectively supervised. With the implementation of the new management mode, the number of projects successfully obtained has increased by 16.7%, the number of published academic papers has increased by 6.5 times, and the quality of published papers has been also significantly improved.

RESUMO

Objective Through analyzing and summarizing the experiences and reflections during the construction of regional medical scientific research alliance,to explore the ultimate goal and ideal model of such work. Methods Literature review,as well as working experience summary and analysis. Results The purpose of setting up regional medical scientific research alliance lies in shared regional medical scientific research data information, using the two-way transformation model of laboratory and clinical research to support the medical service of primary health care in local hospitals,at the same time, promoting the construction and development of regional medical alliance. The ideal model is to make good use of the regional clini cal scientific research data sharing platform and related information sharing platform to promote the collaborative development of regional medical scientific research. Conclusions The ultimate goal of collaborative development of scientific research is to establish "an information map of regional scientific research resources",the map can be used for scientific research project cooperation, resource allocation, integration of scientific research forces and training of talent echelon, thereby comprehensively improve the regional research capacity.

RESUMO

Previous studies have shown that chrysophanol protects against learning and memory impairments in lead-exposed adult mice. In the present study, we investigated whether chrysophanol can alleviate learning and memory dysfunction and hippocampal neuronal injury in lead-exposed neonatal mice. At the end of lactation, chrysophanol (0.1, 1.0, 10.0 mg/kg) was administered to the neonatal mice by intraperitoneal injection for 15 days. Chrysophanol significantly alleviated injury to hippocampal neurons and improved learning and memory abilities in the lead-poisoned neonatal mice. Chrysophanol also significantly decreased lead content in blood, brain, heart, spleen, liver and kidney in the lead-exposed neonatal mice. The levels of malondialdehyde in the brain, liver and kidney were significantly reduced, and superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities were significantly increased after chrysophanol treatment. Collectively, these findings indicate that chrysophanol can significantly reduce damage to hippocampal neurons in lead-exposed neonatal mice.

RESUMO

Objective:To investigate the mainstream view and statusof people on body donation in Yunnan province, and provide references. Methods:Random sampling questionnaire survey was used, the obtained data was statistically analyzed. Results:Only 48. 0% of the people understand the body donation, 20. 6% of people know body donation ways and procedures, 27. 8% of people have heard of body receiving station, 11. 4% of people know the body receiving station in yunnan province, 17. 2% of the people to understand body donation of relevant laws and regulations. 47. 4% of people that are willing to donate his body. Conclusion:Make perfect laws and reg-ulations, respect for the body, giving donors and their families allowance, body donation monument, to carry out education and publicity of the body donation form to the whole society support and participate in the good atmos-phere of body donation has great benefits.
