RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Antenatal care (ANC) is a principal component of safe motherhood and reproductive health strategies across the continuum of care. Although the coverage of antenatal care visits has increased in Ethiopia, there needs to be more evidence of effective coverage of antenatal care. The 'effective coverage' concept can pinpoint where action is required to improve high-quality coverage in Ethiopia. Effective coverage indicates a health system's performance by incorporating need, utilization, and quality into a single measurement. The concept includes the number of contacts, facility readiness, interventions received, and components of services received. This study aimed to measure effective antenatal care coverage in Ethiopia. METHODS: A two-stage cluster sampling method was used and included 2714 women aged 15-49 years and 462 health facilities from six Ethiopian regions from October 2019 to January 2020. The effective coverage cascade was analyzed among the targeted women by computing the proportion who received four or more antenatal care visits where the necessary inputs were available, received iron-folate supplementation and two doses of tetanus vaccination according to process quality components of antenatal care services. RESULTS: Of all women, 40% (95%CI; 38, 43) had four or more visits, ranging from 3% in Afar to 74% in Addis Ababa. The overall mean health facility readiness score of the facilities serving these women was 70%, the vaccination and iron-folate supplementation coverage was 26%, and the ANC process quality was 64%. As reported by women, the least score was given to the quality component of discussing birth preparedness and complication readiness with providers. In the effective coverage cascade, the input-adjusted, intervention-adjusted, and quality-adjusted antenatal coverage estimates were 28%, 18%, and 12%, respectively. CONCLUSION: The overall effective ANC coverage was low, primarily due to a considerable drop in the proportion of women who completed four or more ANC visits. Improving quality of services is crucial to increase ANC up take and completion of the recommended visits along with interventions increasing women's awareness.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Certification of centers for weaning from a ventilator in neurological neurosurgical early rehabilitation (NNER) by the German Society for Neurorehabilitation (DGNR) is possible since 1 October 2021. OBJECTIVE: The results of certification of facilities in the first year after starting the procedure are presented. MATERIAL AND METHODS: As part of the certification process 28 criteria are assessed including a set of mandatory characteristics of the facility. The criteria are divided into structural criteria (i = 7), diagnostic criteria (i = 6), personnel criteria (i = 3), internal organization criteria (i = 7), and quality management criteria (i = 5). RESULTS: A total of 13 centers were certified in the first year, with a combined total of 283 beds for weaning from a ventilator in the NNER and served 2278 persons to be weaned from a ventilator in the year before certification, with a median of 134 per facility (range 44-414). Only rarely was weaning unsuccessful, requiring conversion to home mechanical ventilation before discharge (invasive home mechanical ventilation median per facility 10 persons, range 2-25; non-invasive home mechanical ventilation median 0 persons, range 0-57). A high level of process and structural quality was documented for the certified centers: across all areas of assessment, the individual certification criteria were met in the vast majority of cases (median degree of complete fulfilment 86%) or met with improvement potentials documented by the auditors (median 11%). CONCLUSION: Successful weaning in NNER and a high level of process and structural quality can be demonstrated by the certification results of centers that follow this integrative approach to weaning from a ventilator in a NNER setting.

RESUMO

Focusing on the development and quality improvement strategy of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) industry, the scientific and technological innovation of the new engineering of TCM should be paid attention to solve the "stuck neck" dilemma. Under the background of the ecological and industrial revolution of the scientific and technological innovation system, the super-scale information interaction and multi-dimensional integration will inevitably lead to profound changes in the manufacturing mode of TCM. Manufacturing measurement of TCM is formed on the basis of the reliability engineering theory of process control of TCM production. It is the development extension of system theory and system science ideas and a cross-fertilization discipline that combines theory with practice and adheres to the "four-oriented" re-epistemology improvement of the TCM discipline. In response to the problems of complex raw material sources, coarse process technology, unclear material basis, and poor applicability of equipment and technology in the manufacture of TCM, the transformation research mode of "aiming at the integration of pharmaceutical industry-developing intelligent production line-enabling industrial transformation" has been developed. This paper proposed the four key engineering technical problems, i.e., the identification of critical quality attributes(CQA) in the manufacture of TCM, the quality by design(QbD) and product development of the manufacturing process of TCM, the quality transfer principle and multivariate process capability index of TCM manufacturing, and the development of measurement technology and equipment of the manufacturing measurement of TCM, to achieve the systematization of quality control indicators, real-time process control, digitalization of manufacturing process, transparency of quality transfer, and intelligent whole-process control. In this paper, the new concepts, new theories, and new technologies provide a reference for the industrialization of TCM.

RESUMO

Quality control is pivotal in the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine, whose connotation is not limi-ted to the qualitative or quantitative detection of an indicator component, but extends to the establishment of a whole process quality control system from the perspective of pharmaceutical product lifecycle management. This study discussed the quality control strategy of Chinese medicine based on the concept of pharmaceutical product lifecycle management, and proposed the following suggestions:(1) to focus on the "holistic view" and "phased" characteristics of quality control and strengthen the establishment of quality control strategy based on top-level design;(2) to strengthen the research on quality control of Chinese medicine based on quality risk management, focus on the correlations of quality control indicators with the safety and effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine, and establish a quality evaluation system consistent with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine;(3) to consider the characteristics of different registration classifications in the establishment of quality control strategy;(4) to highlight the quality correlation research, strengthen the quality transfer research, ensure the quality traceability, and establish a sound quality management system;(5) to strengthen the quality research on marketed drugs to achieve dynamic quality improvement.

RESUMO

Upholding the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine that the therapeutic principle, method, formula and medicine are coherent with each other, we propose the technical methodology for intelligent creation of component-based Chinese medicine by integrating multidisciplinary knowledge such as artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical informatics, system pharmacology and phytochemistry. Taking the creation of Guanxinning Tablets as an example, we expound the technical principle for creating component-based Chinese medicine and briefly describe the design method for optimizing the entity of Chinese medicine efficacy by rational combination of active components. Our research sought to "clarify and explain" the mechanism of its clinical treatment action through multi-modal and multi-scale systematic pharmacology studies. This work emphatically demonstrates the pilot workshop and engineering validation platform based on the intelligent simulation of whole production process, and outlines the design principles of the intelligent production line for innovative Chinese medicine. The results of industrial research show that the ourself established method for evaluating the process quality controllability and intelligent production line can be applied to manufacturing Guanxining Tablets with high quality. Through the innovative research of multidisciplinary cross-border integration, the present work explored a new way for the creation of modern Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

Newborn screening for cystic fibrosis (CF-NBS) was introduced in Germany in 2016. Currently, systematic follow-up of positive CF-NBS results is not implemented or reimbursed in the NBS program. We investigated results of confirmatory testing over 24 months after implementation of CF-NBS for a large German NBS center before and after introduction of an active tracking system and performed a cost calculation for tracking. Results are compared with the federal state of Bavaria, where a centralized tracking system has been in place for many years. At the NBS center, 244 of 281,907 children had a positive CF-NBS result requiring diagnostic confirmation. Before implementation of a telephone tracking system, only 43% of confirmatory results were returned despite repeated written requests. The consecutive strategy including telephone tracking led to an increase of resolved cases to 84%. However, the centralized tracking system in Bavaria, assigning children with positive CF-NBS directly to a responsible CF-center, resolved 99% of cases. The calculated additional cost for a tracking system in Germany including telephone tracking is 1.20€ per newborn screened. Conclusion: The implementation of a tracking system achieves a distinct improvement in CF-NBS with justifiable costs. The effect can be limited by absence of centralized organization of confirmatory testing. What is Known: • Newborn screening for cystic fibrosis (CF-NBS) has been performed for many years in several countries worldwide • While many studies have focused on different CF-NBS strategies, the organization of confirmatory testing and process quality concerning returned information to the NBS center has so far received less attention. What is New: • The implementation of an active tracking system achieves a distinct improvement of clarified cases after positive CF-NBS with justifiable costs. • The effect of a tracking system can be limited by the absence of a centralized organization of confirmatory testing.

RESUMO

Few studies have assessed the efficiency and quality of HIV services in low-resource settings or considered the factors that determine both performance dimensions. To provide insights on the performance of outpatient HIV prevention units, we used benchmarking methods to identify best-practices in terms of technical efficiency and process quality and uncover management practices with the potential to improve efficiency and quality. We used data collected in 338 facilities in Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Zambia. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) was used to estimate technical efficiency. Process quality was estimated using data from medical vignettes. We mapped the relationship between efficiency and quality scores and studied the managerial determinants of best performance in terms of both efficiency and quality. We also explored the relationship between management factors and efficiency and quality independently. We found levels of both technical efficiency and process quality to be low, though there was substantial variation across countries. One third of facilities were mapped in the best-performing group with above-median efficiency and above-median quality. Several management practices were associated with best performance in terms of both efficiency and quality. When considering efficiency and quality independently, the patterns of associations between management practices and the two performance dimensions were not necessarily the same. One management characteristic was associated with best performance in terms of efficiency and quality and also positively associated with efficiency and quality independently: number of supervision visits to HIV units.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Provider payment system has a profound impact on health system performance. In 2016, a number of counties in rural Guizhou, China, implemented global budget (GB) for county hospitals with quality control measures. The aim of this study is to measure the impact of GB combined with pay-for-performance on the quality of care of inpatients in county-level hospitals in China. METHODS: Inpatient cases of four diseases, including pneumonia, chronic asthma, acute myocardial infarction and stroke, from 16 county-level hospitals in Guizhou province that implemented GB in 2016 were selected as the intervention group, and similar inpatient cases from 10 county-level hospitals that still implemented fee-for-services were used as the control group. Propensity matching score (PSM) was used for data matching to control for age factors, and difference-in-differences (DID) models were constructed using the matched samples to perform regression analysis on quality of care for the four diseases. RESULTS: After the implementation of GB, rate of sputum culture in patients with pneumonia, rate of aspirin at discharge, rate of discharge with ß-blocker and rate of smoking cessation advice in patients with acute myocardial infarction increased. Rate of oxygenation index assessment in patient with chronic asthma decreased 20.3%. There are no significant changes in other indicators of process quality. CONCLUSIONS: The inclusion of pay-for-performance in the global budget payment system will help to reduce the quality risks associated with the reform of the payment system and improve the quality of care. Future reform should also consider the inclusion of the pay-for-performance mechanism.

RESUMO

CLINICAL/METHODICAL ISSUE: Introduction and application of structured reporting in radiology private practice. STANDARD RADIOLOGICAL METHODS: Ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), digital xray (DR), mammography (MG). METHODOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS: Structuring and predefinition of entire reports and report parts. PERFORMANCE: Structured reporting in radiology presumably allows for higher report quality, reproducibility and easier access to data mining. Also the communication with the referring physicians can be improved. Although these advantages are well acknowledged, structured reporting does not prevail in private radiology practices. This article sheds light on the current situation of structured reporting in radiology private practice and provides information for the faltering implementation as well as perspective for individual potential solutions to overcome this situation. ACHIEVEMENTS: Structured reporting is not yet standard. Growing acceptance of structured reporting can be expected. PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS: The application of structured reporting can improve report quality. The use of structured reporting should be considered for common examinations.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the present study was to investigate the learning curves of 2 trainees with different experience levels to reach proficiency in preoperative planning of the cup size based on learning curve cumulative summation (LC-CUSUM) statistics and a cumulative summation (CUSUM) test. MATERIALS AND METHODS: One-hundred-twenty patients who had undergone primary total hip arthroplasty with a cementless cup were selected. Preoperative planning was performed by an experienced orthopedic surgeon. Trainee 1 (student) and trainee 2 (resident) planned the cup size. The trainees were blinded to the preoperative plan and the definitive cup size. Only after a cup size was chosen, the trainees were unblinded to the preoperative plan of the surgeon. LC-CUSUM was applied to both trainees to determine when proficiency in determining the appropriate cup size was reached. A CUSUM test was applied to ensure retention of proficiency. RESULTS: With reference to the preoperative plan of the surgeon, LC-CUSUM indicated proficiency after 94 planning attempts for trainee 1 and proficiency after 66 attempts for trainee 2, respectively. Trainee 1 and 2 maintained proficiency thereafter. With reference to the definitive cup size, LC-CUSUM did not signal competency within the first 120 planning attempts for trainee 1. Trainee 2 was declared competent after 103 attempts and retained competency thereafter. CONCLUSIONS: LC-CUSUM/CUSUM allow for an individualized, quantitative and continuous assessment of planning quality. Based on LC-CUSUM statistics, the two trainees of this study gain proficiency in planning of the acetabular cup size after 50-100 attempts when an immediate feedback is provided. Previous experience positively influences the performance. The study serves as basis for the medical education of students and residents in joint replacement procedures.

RESUMO

The neighborhood literature consistently documents associations between neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES) and child development. Yet, this approach may miss important heterogeneity in neighborhood resources (e.g., libraries, doctors' offices) that have important implications for children. Moreover, the mechanisms that explain the relation between neighborhood characteristics and child outcomes are poorly understood. Using a sample of 955 children situated in preschool neighborhoods across nine United States cities, the present study aimed to (1) describe the relation between neighborhood SES and resources among our sample neighborhoods and (2) explore whether neighborhood SES and resources may be (a) independently and (b) jointly associated with young children's gains in language/literacy and executive function skills via differences in preschool classroom process quality. Our results suggested that neighborhoods were heterogeneous in both SES and resources, thereby indicating a diverse range of resource availability among lower SES neighborhoods. Moreover, we found that both neighborhood SES and resources were individually associated with benefits to children's development through levels of classroom process quality and that these associations were magnified in communities that were particularly high in both SES and resources. These findings point to potential policy levers at both neighborhood and classroom levels to support children's development.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Accident insurance consultants (D-physicians) are qualified specialists with particular expertise in occupational medicine. Within the medical treatment procedure of the German Statutory Accident Insurance (DGUV), Dphysicians must make a report on the medical care after occupational accidents. This nationwide evaluation aimed to systematically measure the quality of documentation of these medical reports. Peer review is a common method to ensure process quality. MATERIAL AND METHODS: For each included Dphysician 30 reports of more severe cases from 2017 were randomly selected. The reports were anonymized and randomly assigned to a peer reviewer. Peer reviewers used a web-based checklist with nine rating categories and dichotomous response format (deficiency/no deficiency). To evaluate overall quality each report was rated with an overall grade from 1 (very good) to 6 (insufficient). RESULTS: A total of 30,384 reports were evaluated by 82 peer reviewers. One third of the reports contained no deficiencies. Most deficiencies were found in the category on information about the accident. The mean overall grade for each Dphysician was 2.6 and ranged from 1.5 (best) to 4.1 (worst). All evaluated Dphysicians were given an individual quality report which described the main findings. CONCLUSION: The first nationwide peer review of the DGUV proved to be a practical and valid quality assurance procedure to evaluate the medical reports of Dphysicians. The quality of the reports was in general good. The DGUV plans to repeat the peer review process taking further groups of Dphysicians into consideration.

RESUMO

The physical properties of powder and granules are the critical quality attributes for the process control of Suhuang Zhike Capsules, a big brand traditional Chinese medicine. This paper took the production of 25 batches of real-world Suhuang Zhike Capsules dry extract powder and granules intermediates as the research object. Firstly, a method for testing the physical properties of Suhuang Zhike Capsules powder and granules with 19 physical indicators was established. The results showed that the granules of dry extract powder after granulation had a smaller particle size, wider particle size distribution range and poor fluidity, which easily caused the problem of over-limit capsule loading. Secondly, correlation analysis, principal component analysis and cluster analysis were used for mathematical statistics. The correlation analysis showed that the density of dry extract powder could affect the chroma and fluidity. At the same time, the particle size in the granules had a stronger effect on the chroma and fluidity than the density. The study also found that the particle size and hygroscopicity of dry extract powder were potentially key physical properties that affected the physical properties of granules. Furthermore, the results of principal component analysis and cluster analysis showed that the consistency of the physical properties between the dry extract powder and intermediate granules was relatively poor. To this end, similarity analysis was carried out, and the quality control method of powder and granules based on physical fingerprint was established. The results showed that the physical fingerprint similarity of 25 batches of dry extract powder was 0.639-0.976, and the physical fingerprint similarity of the gra-nules was 0.716-0.983. With the similarity of 0.85 as the threshold, the batches with abnormal physical properties could be identified. In this study, the process quality control method of Suhuang Zhike Capsules based on the physical properties of powder and granules was established finally, which realized the identification of abnormal batches, and provided a reference for the process quality control of Suhuang Zhike Capsules.

RESUMO

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) decoction pieces refer to prescription drugs that can be used in clinical or preparation production after processing medicinal herbs. TCM decoction pieces industries are inherited from the culture of TCM and are important because of their independent intellectual property rights. The Chinese Pharmacopoeia (Ch. P) 2010 edition stipulated that "All drugs taken are decoction pieces", which raised the drug status to statutory law for the first time and clearly specified that TCM decoction pieces should be applied to TCM prescription deployment and production of proprietary Chinese medicines. It also pointed out that "The specifications of the decoction pieces used in the preparation should comply with the requirements of the actual process of the corresponding formulation type". For a long time, both the processing methods and the specification grades of the clinically used pieces of Chinese medicine were based on the inheritance and supported by the classical theory and method system centered on TCM processing. However, the theoretical research and specification standards of the decoction pieces used in the production of proprietary Chinese medicines based on modern industry are scarce, and this has led to a series of problems related to the industry, making the processing of decoction pieces becoming a limiting factor in the promotion of the Chinese medicine industry. Aiming at the existing problems of the TCM decoction pieces industry, this article was guided by the standardization system of TCM based on the concept of whole-process quality control, combined with the reference to the Japanese Kampo medicine industry's feeding mode and the reflection on the combination of traditional Chinese medicine processing and modern industry, as well as the study of the core law of the whole-process of TCM production, etc. Industrial decoction pieces and the idea of building a standardized system of TCM industry decoction pieces based on the whole-process quality control were discussed in this paper, which can provide insights for exploring the effective fusion between TCM processing theory and classic heritage and modern manufacturing and can provide the basis for the establishment of a standardized system for industrial decoction pieces based on whole-process quality control of TCM. It can also offer reference for the development of the advantages of geo-authentic crude drug and the establishment of high spots of industry decoction pieces.

RESUMO

This publication presents the realisation of a sensor concept, which is based on eddy current testing, to detect textile defects during preforming of semi-finished carbon fibre parts. The presented system has the potential for 100% control of manufactured carbon fibre based components, allowing the immediate exclusion of defective parts from further process steps. The core innovation of this system is given by the high degree of process integration, which has not been implemented in the state of the art. The publication presents the functional principle of the sensor that is based on half-transmission probes as well as the signals that can be gained by its application. Furthermore, a method to determine the optimum sensor resolution is presented as well as the sensor housing and its integration in the preforming process.

RESUMO

The whole process quality control and management of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) decoction pieces is a system engineering, involving the base environment, seeds and seedlings, harvesting, processing and other multiple steps, so the accurate identification of factors in TCM production process that may induce the quality risk, as well as reasonable quality control measures are very important. At present, the concept of quality risk is mainly concentrated in the aspects of management and regulations, etc. There is no comprehensive analysis on possible risks in the quality control process of TCM decoction pieces, or analysis summary of effective quality control schemes. A whole process quality control and management system for TCM decoction pieces based on TCM quality tree was proposed in this study. This system effectively combined the process analysis method of TCM quality tree with the quality risk management, and can help managers to make real-time decisions while realizing the whole process quality control of TCM. By providing personalized web interface, this system can realize user-oriented information feedback, and was convenient for users to predict, evaluate and control the quality of TCM. In the application process, the whole process quality control and management system of the TCM decoction pieces can identify the related quality factors such as base environment, cultivation and pieces processing, extend and modify the existing scientific workflow according to their own production conditions, and provide different enterprises with their own quality systems, to achieve the personalized service. As a new quality management model, this paper can provide reference for improving the quality of Chinese medicine production and quality standardization.

RESUMO

The concept of "Quality by design" indicates that good design for the whole life cycle of pharmaceutical production enables the drug to meet the expected quality requirements. Aiming at the existing problems of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry, the TCM standardization system was put forward in this paper from the national strategic level, under the guidance by the idea of quality control in international manufacturing industry and with considerations of TCM industry's own characteristics and development status. The connotation of this strategy was to establish five interrelated systems: multi-indicators system based on tri-indicators system, quality standard and specification system of TCM herbal materials and decoction pieces, quality traceability system, data monitoring system based on whole-process quality control, and whole-process quality management system of TCM, and achieve the whole process systematic and scientific study in TCM industry through "top-level design-implement in steps-system integration" workflow. This article analyzed the correlation between the quality standards of all links, established standard operating procedures of each link and whole process, and constructed a high standard overall quality management system for TCM industry chains, in order to provide a demonstration for the establishment of TCM whole-process quality control system and provide systematic reference and basis for standardization strategy in TCM industry.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The quality assurance of care and patient safety, with increasing cost pressure and performance levels is of major importance in the high-risk and high cost area of the operating room (OR). Standard operating procedures (SOP) are an established tool for structuring and standardization of the clinical treatment pathways and show multiple benefits for quality assurance and process optimization. OBJECTIVES: An internal project was initiated in the department of anesthesiology and a continuous improvement process was carried out to build up a comprehensive SOP library. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In the first step the spectrum of procedures in anesthesiology was transferred to PDF-based SOPs. The further development to an app-based SOP library (Aesculapp) was due to the high resource expenditure for the administration and maintenance of the large PDF-based SOP collection and to deficits in the mobile availability. The next developmental stage, the SOP healthcare information assistant (SOPHIA) included a simplified and advanced update feature, an archive feature previously missing and notably the possibility to share the SOP library with other departments including the option to adapt each SOP to the individual situation. A survey of the personnel showed that the app-based allocation of SOPs (Aesculapp, SOPHIA) had a higher acceptance than the PDF-based developmental stage SOP form. CONCLUSION: The SOP management system SOPHIA combines the benefits of the forerunner version Aesculapp with improved options for intradepartmental maintenance and administration of the SOPs and the possibility of an export and editing function for interinstitutional exchange of SOPs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: We implemented an outpatient falls guideline in 2008 in the department of radiology. Here, we describe our multiyear experience. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This was a retrospective study conducted between April 2006 and September 2013 to investigate outpatient falls. The span of the study was divided into eight periods. The incident reporting system was searched for the falls and the fall-related variables. RESULTS: A total of 327 falls occurred during 5,080,512 radiology examinations (rate, 0.64/10,000 total examinations). The highest rate was in period 6 (0.83/10,000 examinations). The average for periods 1 and 2 is 0.39/10,000 examinations (37 falls/945,427 examinations), and the average for periods 3-6 is 0.77/10,000 examinations (204 falls/2,656,805 examinations). The average rate for periods 7 and 8 is 0.58/10,000 examinations (86 falls/1,478,280 examinations). There was a statistically significant increase in the total number of falls reported between period 2 and period 3 (p = 0.02). There was a statistically significant decrease in outpatient falls between period 6 and period 7 (p = 0.01). The number of falls among patients 60 years old or older was 177 falls/2,180,093 examinations (rate, 0.81/10,000 examinations), and that among patients younger than 60 years was 150 falls/2,900,419 examinations (rate, 0.52/10,000 examinations), with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.007). Although the rate of falls was higher among female patients, there was no statistically significant difference between the sexes (p = 0.18). CONCLUSION: The outcome of the outpatient falls guideline was characterized by an increase, a plateau, and a decrease in incident reports. The initial increase may be due to the Hawthorne effect. The plateau may represent the value closest to the true incidence. The decrease may represent the effect of the program.

RESUMO

Against the background of Job Demands-Resources and Conservation of Resources theory and research on organizational communication, this prospective study among n = 312 employees explores the significant role of perceived information process quality (PIPQ) in enhancing employees' optimism during the COVID-19 pandemic. It thereby contributes to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing employee optimism in challenging contexts. In this study, PIPQ is defined by the availability of timely information, clarity, and consistency in the information provided. Results from latent change score modelling revealed that employees who experienced high PIPQ, particularly consistent information, reported feeling more optimistic about work-related aspects and also experienced spillover effects into their private lives. Notably, both consistency in information prior to the pandemic and increases in consistent information during the pandemic demonstrated this beneficial effect. Moreover, timely available information also positively influenced optimism, especially regarding work-related aspects. However, the study did not find evidence that clarity in information significantly affected optimism. In summary, the findings underscore the importance of accessible and consistent information as a vital resource for employees' ability to navigate crises.
