RESUMO

The purpose of this research was to investigate students' behavioral intentions toward a digital learning platform. In the framework of Thai education, an empirical study evaluated and applied the adoption model. The recommended research model was tested using structural equation modeling with a sample of 1406 students from every part of Thailand. According to the findings, the best facilitator for students' recognition of using digital learning platforms is attitude (ATT), followed by internal factors such as perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU). Furthermore, technology self-efficacy (TSE), subjective norms (SN), and facilitating conditions (FC) are peripheral factors that enhance comprehension of a digital learning platform's approval. These results are consistent with past research, with the exception that PU is the only factor that has a negative influence on behavioral intention. Consequently, this study will be useful to academics and researchers by bridging a research gap in the literature review whilst also demonstrating the practical application of an impactful digital learning platform relating to academic accomplishment.

AIMS: Improving the health behaviour can help prevent stroke recurrence. The existing health education interventions require more human resource. There is a lack of constructing a low-cost, highly universal, and easy-to-use stroke secondary prevention platform based on the existing medical resources. METHODS AND RESULTS: This was a randomized controlled trial to test the effects of a digital learning platform on the health knowledge, beliefs, and behaviours of stroke patients from baseline to 6 months after discharge. The control group received routine health education while the intervention group received health belief education during hospitalization and used a digital learning platform for 6 months after discharge. The health knowledge was assessed by The Stroke Health Knowledge Questionnaire, health beliefs by The Short Form Health Belief Model Scale for Stroke Patients, and health behaviours by the Stroke Health Behavior Scale. A total of 90 patients were included: 45 each in the intervention group and the control group, of whom 38 and 37 completed the study, respectively. At 6 months after discharge, (1) the health knowledge score of the intervention group was insignificantly higher than that of the control group, (2) the health belief score of the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and (3) the intervention group had higher health behaviour scores especially in physical activity than that of the control group. Other health behaviour dimensions have time effect, but not significant. CONCLUSIONS: The digital learning platform can improve health behaviours of stroke patients 6 months after discharge, especially in physical activity. REGISTRATION: ChiCTR1800019936.

This paper describes the development and use of the bespoke digital learning resource CAPSULE (Clinical and Professional Studies Unique Learning Environment) which was launched UK wide in May 2020 to facilitate the delivery of core learning content for UK medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic. CAPSULE is a digital learning resource comprising case-based scenarios and multiple-choice questions, encompassing all undergraduate medical specialities and supported by a pan-speciality editorial board. Following the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and loss of face-to-face learning opportunities, CAPSULE was made available to all UK medical schools in May 2020. Following a global content review and edit and UK wide rollout, over 41,000 medical students and 3200 faculty registered as users. Approximately 1.5 million cases were completed in the first 12 months of use by up to 4500 distinct monthly users. Feedback from both students and faculty has been highly positive. CAPSULE continues to be used within UK medical schools and has allowed an entire cohort of medical students to access core curriculum content and progress their studies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Future directions may include further integration into UK medical school curricula, enhancement of platform functionality and potential expansion on an international scale.

Although several initiatives have produced core competency domains for training the translational science workforce, training resources to help clinical research professionals advance these skills reside primarily within local departments or institutions. The Development, Implementation, and AssessMent of Novel Training in Domain (DIAMOND) project was designed to make this training more readily and publicly available. DIAMOND includes a digital portal to catalog publicly available educational resources and an ePortfolio to document professional development. DIAMOND is a nationally crowdsourced, federated, online catalog providing a platform for practitioners to find and share training and assessment materials. Contributors can share their own educational materials using a simple intake form that creates an electronic record; the portal enables users to browse or search this catalog of digital records and access the resources. Since September 2018, the portal has been visited more than 5,700 times and received over 280 contributions from professionals. The portal facilitates opportunities to connect and collaborate regarding future applications of these resources. Consequently, growing the collection and increasing numbers of both contributors and users remains a priority. Results from a small subset of users indicated over half accomplished their purpose for visiting the site, while qualitative results showed that users identified several benefits and helpful features of the ePortfolio.
