In this commentary, the recent study "Safety and Efficacy of Long-Term Transmural Plastic Stent Placement After Removal of Lumen Apposing Metal Stent In Resolved Pancreatic Fluid Collections With Duct Disconnection at Head/Neck of Pancreas" is addressed. Some background information regarding endoscopic management of walled off necrosis is mentioned, then the study is summarized, followed by a critique about the strengths and limitations of the study.
