ABSTRACT
This study shows that elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and plasma total homocysteine contribute independently to the likelihood of an increased urinary albumincreatinine ratio. This result suggests that total homocysteine and C-reactive protein may be acting by separate mechanistic pathways.
