ABSTRACT

The "Ethical Guidelines for Medical and Health Research Involving Human Subjects" were enforced in 2015, which integrated two former government guidelines "Ethical Guidelines for Epidemiological Research" and "Ethical Guidelines for Clinical Studies". Under the new guidelines, the role of the ethics review boards is of growing significance for vetting the ethical conduct of biomedical research in institutions. This review describes the system and activity of the ethics committee at Juntendo University Hospital. [Review].
