ABSTRACT
The effect of clemastine fumarate, a histamine H1-antagonist, on the potentiation of itch by prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) was studied in normal humans. The antihistamine drug did not abolish the potentiation, which suggests that the effect of PGE1 on itch does not depend on the liberation of endogenous histamine.
