RESUMO
Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an emerging gram-negative pathogen that was previously labeled as a colonizer. Nowadays, with multiple antibiotic usage along with certain host factors, infections caused by this organism are getting attention. We hereby report two cases of ventilator-associated pneumonia in postoperative infants by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in a cardiac intensive care unit (ICU). RESUMO
Actinomyces species are known to cause a variety of human infections. Ocular actinomycosis is a rare disease. We report an unusual case of bilateral actinomycotic blepharoconjunctivitis in the absence of canaliculitis that presented with forniceal masses in eye. The case report is discussed here along with Indian literature.

RESUMO
Fungal rhinosinusitis is not very uncommon in diabetic patients, but Scedosporium apiospermum as a cause of this infection is rare. We report a case of fungal rhinosinusitis by Scedosporium spp. in a diabetic male along with literature review. The patient is on voriconazole, with adequate therapeutic response after 6 months of follow up.
RESUMO
Septic pulmonary emboli can occur as a complication of many diseases, most common being right sided infective endocarditis. Septic emboli through a peripheral venous cannula are rarely reported in literature though central venous catheter is commonly implicated. We describe a case of widespread cellulitis and septic pulmonary emboli as a complication of peripheral venous cannulation.

Filariasis can present in many different ways and pose significant dilemma to the clinician. We report four atypical cases of filariasis which presented as abdominal mass, cervical lymph node enlargement, fever in pregnancy and nosocomial febrile illness respectively. All the four cases were treated successfully with oral antifilarial agents. It is essential to be aware of such atypical presentations of filariasis so that prompt therapy can be initiated.
