RESUMO
A combination of advanced light engineering concepts enables a substantial improvement in photon extraction efficiency of micro-cavity-based single-photon sources in the telecom O-band at â¼1.3â µm. We employ a broadband bottom distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and a top DBR formed in a dielectric micropillar with an additional circular Bragg grating in the lateral plane. This device design includes a doped layer in pin-configuration to allow for electric carrier injection. It provides broadband (â¼8-10â nm) emission enhancement with an overall photon-extraction efficiency of â¼83% into the upper hemisphere and photon-extraction efficiency of â¼79% within numerical aperture NA=0.7. The efficiency of photon coupling to a single-mode fiber reaches 11% for SMF28 fiber (with NA=0.12), exceeds 22% for 980HP fiber (with NA=0.2) and reaches â¼40% for HNA fiber (with NA=0.42) as demonstrated by 3D finite-difference time-domain modeling.
RESUMO
The paper describes a case of chromoblastomycosis, a rare implantation mycosis in the Russian Federation. It gives data on the prevalence, etiology, and clinical presentations of the disease, and the diagnostic possibilities. Emphasis is laid on the leading role of a pathomorphological study in the diagnosis of chromoblastomycosis in non-endemic countries, including Russia. The clinical and pathomorphological presentations are described in detail. Histological examination detected 5-12-µm spherical or polygonal pigmented cells that are fungal elements, which allows chromoblastomycosis to be diagnosed in the cytoplasm of macrophages and extracellularly. A refusal to conduct a pathomorphological study leads to diagnostic errors and an irrational treatment policy.

The effects of composite fibroin-gelatin microparticles (100-250 µ) on the rate of wound healing and regeneration under conditions of contraction prevention were studied on the model of splinted full-thickness skin wound in a mouse. Subcutaneous injection of these particles into the defect area accelerated wound healing and promoted re-epithelialization and recovery of normal structure of the epidermis. In addition, the composite microparticles promoted the formation of connective tissue of characteristic structure, replacing the derma over the entire defect, and stimulated regeneration of subcutaneous muscle (panniculus carnosus) and skin appendages (sebaceous glands and hair follicles).

The paper describes a case of generalized lymphadenopathy clinically recognized as malignant lymphoma in a 59-year-old woman. Her death occurred from bilateral pneumonia. Autopsy also showed a tumor-like mass in the thymus. On histological examination, the lymph nodes, thymus, and spleen exhibited an intensive polyclonal IgG4+ plasma cell infiltration. Lymphoid plasma cell infiltration with increased count of IgG+ plasma cells, progressive sclerosis, and phlebitis obliterans were found in the pancreas and peripancreatic adipose tissue, liver, kidney, epicardium, thyroid, pituitary, skin, and other organs. The case was regarded as IgG4-related sclerosing disease manifesting itself as lymphadenopathy and thymus enlargement.
