RESUMO

The authors proved "Rokadovskaya" water to be efficient in complex therapy of workers with occupational and industrially mediated diseases. The effects included normalization and activation of antioxidant and phagocytic functions of peripheral neutrophils. Immunologic effects on immune cells and humoral immunity parameters were studied for various nosologic entities. Discussion covered mechanisms and prospects of immune correctors inclusion into complex therapy, according to contemporary concept of information role played by clusters in water structure.

RESUMO

Studies on pathogenetic mechanisms of development, formation and course of occupational diseases revealed pathomorphosis of major specification forms (diseases of bronchopulmonary system, skin, nervous system, locomotory apparatus). Developing pathomorphosis of occupational and occupationally mediated diseases is caused by changed work conditions, lower acting concentrations and levels of occupational factors, influence of harmful ecologic factors, metabolic features, immune state, individual sensitivity to occupational and environmental factors.

RESUMO

Complex clinical examination of aluminium production workers having broncho-pulmonary diseases revealed immunologic criteria of toxic dust bronchitis, diffuse pneumosclerosis and secondary infection-dependent bronchial asthma, caused by combination of occupational hazards. Contribution of allergic environmental factors was shown as they deplete immune reserves in the workers. The authors proved efficiency of contemporary immune modulator polyoxydonium, when included into the complex therapy.

RESUMO

Galvanic production workers appeared to have mainly humoral immunity activated--sensitization to nickel, reliable prevalence of immune disorders in males over females, significant influence of immune overstrain on frequency of acute respiratory infections and allergic conditions. The authors justified approaches to safe immune prophylaxis of diseases in workers.

RESUMO

The authors presented a review on contemporary programs of immunologic examination for patients suffering from occupational respiratory diseases, materials on immunologic mechanisms and on pathogenetic and diagnostic criteria. Comparison covers immunologic parameters proving efficiency of immune modulators inclusion into complex treatment. The authors justify prospects of immunologic studies of receptor-dependent Fas-induced apoptosis, cytokine profiles (inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines) and immune therapy improvement.

RESUMO

Examination covered 41 children with bronchial asthma varying in severity, who live in ecologically hazardous industrial area. High incidence of sensibilization to industrial chemical allergens (chromium, nickel, formaldehyde and sometimes manganese and beryllium) appeared to be a feature of the examinees. Effect of IgE binding, a specific in vitro provocation test, identified pathogenic role of sensibilization to industrial allergens polluting environment. Clinical and immunologic principles revealed are basis for safe, specific and informative laboratory methods diagnosing sensibilization to industrial chemical allergens in ecologic, epidemiologic and clinical pediatric investigation.

RESUMO

The study covered asbestos-containing waste at a major mining enrichment enterprise--"Uralasbest" JSC. A set of methods were used to associate natural human compensatory mechanisms with experimental models simplifying possible routes of asbestos influence on humans and proved no toxic features of the dust studied. The results help to manage removal and storage of asbestos-containing waste, to use it for production of various building materials. However, variable asbestos (free and fixed) content of the waste and admixtures of chromium, nickel and other elements in it prevent from utilisation of asbestos waste at other enterprises and necessitate further hygienic evaluation.

RESUMO

The authors tackle problem of occupational bronchial asthma classification. The article deals with up-to-date diagnostic methods providing new materials on occupational bronchial asthma pathogenesis. Those methods justified definition of specific forms of occupational bronchial asthma. The authors defined: occupational bronchial asthma allergic, non-allergic, mixed.

RESUMO

The study evaluated effects of threshold sensitizing levels of formaldehyde (and its combination with woody dust) on health of furniture production workers. The results enable to conclude that MAC of formaldehyde (or combined with woody dust) increases danger of symptomatic allergies and considerably alters immune reactivity, causing atopic immune state. Formaldehyde promotes general nonspecific diseases by inducing the hyperergic reactivity that exhausts immune defense mechanisms.

RESUMO

The authors determined pneumoconiosis as a chronic diffuse or diffuse and granulomatous pneumonitis with pulmonary fibrosis. The article deals with identification of lymphocytes subpopulations through monoclonal antibodies, details peculiarities of cellular immunity in pneumoconiosis patients, contains new data on LgE-dependent inflammatory mechanisms including specific response to industrial dust allergens. Discussion covers ways of immune correction therapy and immune prophylactics in accordance with phases of body response to homotoxins produced due to exogenous dust load.

RESUMO

Occupational diseases of the skin have been detected in 19.6% of 352 workers engaged in molybdenum production. These diseases are characterized by a relatively low incidence on the dermatitis transformation into eczema and a considerable length of this process, by weak skin reactions to molybdenum tests (with 20% aqueous solution of ammonium paramolybdate), by the predominance of skin itching in the clinical picture, by a secondary pyococcic infection, and by frequent combination of eczema with allergic involvement of the ENT organs. Experimental and clinical immunologic studies have revealed that mostly humoral immune mechanisms with a relatively weak involvement of the T-lymphocytes contribute to the pathogenesis of the dermatoses due to molybdenum exposure; this fact is responsible for poor clinical manifestation of the delayed type hypersensitivity reactions and at the same time a manifest IgE-dependent pattern of allergic reactions. A clear-cut correlation between the frequency of the dermatoses and molybdenum level in environmental dust was detected, as were a considerable molybdenum contamination of the skin and the fact that hot and humid microclimate are conducive to the development of dermatoses. Basing on the results of these studies, the authors have developed recommendations on the diagnosis and prevention of molybdenum-induced dermatoses.

RESUMO

Studies of the chronic combined effects of carbon monoxide low concentrations and psychoemotional stress revealed changes in the peripheral lymphocyte subpopulation in all groups of examinees, connected with the defense activation of the humoral immunity and functional decrease of T lymphocytes. Analysis of correlations of cell subpopulations revealed disorders of their relationships, augmenting with the intensity of exposure. Combined action of carbon monoxide in the maximal of studies concentrations with stress resulted in the most severe changes of nonspecific immunity, which proves decompensated decrease of immunity.
