RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To comparatively analyze the correlation between axial symptoms (AS) and cervical sagittal alignment parameters after anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and hybrid surgery (HS). METHODS: From January 2018 to June 2023, 74 patients who underwent ACDF (n = 36) or HS (n = 38) for two-level or three-level cervical spondylotic myelopathy were retrospectively analyzed. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA), Neck Disability Index (NDI) were recorded to assess clinical outcomes. Cervical sagittal alignment parameters (Cobb's angle C2-7, C7 slope [C7S], and C2-7 sagittal vertical axis [C2-7 SVA]) were measured preoperatively, 3 days postoperatively, and at the last follow-up. The range of motion (ROM) of C2-7 and ROM of surgical segment were measured. The occurrence of AS was observed at the last follow-up. Logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation between postoperative AS and cervical sagittal alignment parameters. RESULTS: Both in ACDF group and HS group, VAS, JOA and NDI scores showed significant improvements at 3-day postoperation and at the last follow-up (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The Cobb's angle C2-7 and C7S were significantly increased at 3 days postoperation compared with pre-operatively in both groups (P < 0.05). C2-7SVA was increased in both groups 3 days after surgery compared with pre-operatively, but there was no significant difference (P > 0.05). At the last follow-up, the ROM of C2-7 in ACDF group was significantly smaller than HS group (P < 0.05). The prevalence of postoperative AS in the ACDF group and HS group was 41.7 and 18.4%, respectively, with statistical difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). When simple Logistic regression analysis was used, the last Cobb's angle C2-7 (ß = -0.088), the last C2-7SVA (ß = 0.099) in ACDF group and the last C2-7SVA (ß = 0.222) in HS group were all correlated with the occurrence of postoperative AS. When multiple Logistic regression analysis was used, only the last C2-7SVA (ß = 0.181) in the HS group was positively correlated with the occurrence of postoperative AS. CONCLUSIONS: Both ACDF and HS can achieve satisfied clinical outcomes. ACDF and HS can improve cervical sagittal balance to a certain extent, and HS is superior to ACDF in maintaining ROM. The decrease of the last Cobb's angle C2-7 and the increase of the last C2-7SVA may be related to the occurrence of AS after ACDF. The increase of the last C2-7SVA was an independent risk factor for the occurrence of AS after HS.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Sacral screw loosening is a typical complication after internal fixation surgery through the vertebral arch system. Bicortical fixation can successfully prevent screw loosening, and how improving the rate of bicortical fixation is a challenging clinical investigation. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility of improving the double corticality of sacral screws and the optimal fixation depth to achieve double cortical fixation by combining the torque measurement method with bare hands. METHODS: Ninety-seven cases of posterior lumbar internal fixation with pedicle root system were included in this study. Based on the tactile feedback of the surgeon indicating the expected penetration of the screw into the contralateral cortex of the sacrum, the screws were further rotated by 180°, 360°, or 720°, categorized into the bicortical 180° group, bicortical 360° group, and bicortical 720° group, respectively. Intraoperatively, the torque during screw insertion was recorded. Postoperatively, the rate of double-cortex engagement was evaluated at 7 days, and screw loosening was assessed at 1 year follow-up. RESULTS: The bicortical rates of the 180° group, 360° group, and 720° group were 66.13%, 91.18% and 93.75%, respectively. There were statistically significant differences between the 180° group and both the 360° and 720° groups (P < 0.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference between the 360° group and the 720° group (P > 0.05).The rates of loosening of sacral screws in the 180° group, 360° group, and 720° group were 20.97%, 7.35% and 7.81%, respectively. There were statistically significant differences between the 180° group and both the 360° and 720° groups (P < 0.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference between the 360° group and the 720° group (P > 0.05). The bicortical 360° group achieved a relatively satisfactory rate of dual cortical purchase while maintaining a lower rate of screw loosening. CONCLUSION: Manual insertion of sacral screws with the assistance of a torque measurement device can achieve a relatively satisfactory dual cortical purchase rate while reducing patient hospitalization costs.

RESUMO

To obtain a magnetically separable, low-cost and highly efficient reduction catalyst, microbial carbon-loaded bimetallic palladium/iron nanoparticles (MC-FePd3NPs) were synthesized in this study by using waste yeast residue doped with iron during the preparation process of microbial carbon-loaded monometallic palladium nanoparticles (MC-Pd NPs). The morphology, crystal structure, magnetic properties and catalytic performance of MC-FePd3NPs for the reduction ofp-nitrophenol (p-NP) were investigated by various characterization techniques, such as SEM-EDS, TEM, XRD, PPMS-9 and UV-vis spectroscopy. The catalytic experiments showed that the MC-FePd3NPs prepared under pyrolysis conditions at 700 °C had an apparent rate constant of 1.85 × 10-1s-1which is better than the rate constants of MC-Pd NPs and other palladium-based nanocatalytic materials reported so far. The amount of palladium used in the synthesis of MC-FePd3NPs was half that of MC-Pd NPs. The catalyst exhibited soft magnetic ordering behavior and still showed a catalytic efficiency of 97.4% after five consecutive reaction cycles. Furthermore, employing MC-FePd3NPs reduces the costs of catalyst preparation and use in production. MC-FePd3NPs with efficient catalytic properties, facile magnetic separation and recyclability, and low costs of preparation and use have considerable potential for industrial applications.

RESUMO

While lumbar spinal fusion using rigid rods is a prevalent surgical technique, it can lead to complications such as adjacent segment disease (ASDis). Dynamic stabilization devices serve to maintain physiological spinal motion and alleviate painful stress, yet they are accompanied by a substantial incidence of construct failure and subsequent reoperation. Compared to traditional rigid devices, Isobar TTL semi-rigid stabilization devices demonstrate equivalent stiffness and effective stabilization capabilities. Furthermore, when contrasted with dynamic stabilization techniques, semi-rigid stabilization offers improved load distribution, a broader range of motion within the fixed segment, and reduced mechanical failure rates. This paper will review and evaluate the clinical and biomechanical performance of Isobar TTL semi-rigid stabilization devices. A literature search using the PubMed, EMBASE, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and Cochrane Library databases identified studies that met the eligibility criteria. Twenty-eight clinical studies and nine biomechanical studies were included in this systematic review. The VAS, the ODI, and Japanese Orthopedic Association scoring improved significantly in most studies. UCLA grading scale, Pfirrmann grading, and modified Pfirrmann grading of the upper adjacent segments improved significantly in most studies. The occurrence rate of ASD was low. In biomechanical studies, Isobar TTL demonstrated a superior load sharing distribution, a larger fixed segment range of motion, and reduced stress at the rod-screw/screw-bone interfaces compared with titanium rods. While findings from mechanical studies provided promising results, the clinical studies exhibited low methodological quality. As a result, the available evidence does not possess sufficient strength to substantiate superior outcomes with Isobar semi-rigid system in comparison to titanium rods. To establish more conclusive conclusions, further investigations incorporating improved protocols, larger sample sizes, and extended follow-up durations are warranted.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using the Isobar TTL system and posterolateral fusion in a two-segment hybrid fixation approach, combined with spinal decompression, for treating mild and moderate lumbar degenerative disease. Specifically, we sought to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach for managing two-segment mild and moderate lumbar degenerative disease, and to determine whether it could provide a safe and reliable alternative to traditional surgical methods. METHODS: This retrospective study included 45 consecutive patients with two-level lumbar disc herniation or spinal stenosis, 24 of whom underwent the TTL system and posterolateral fusion combined (TTL group), and 21 of whom underwent posterolateral fusion alone (Rigid group). The surgical segment, admission diagnosis, operation time, and intraoperative bleeding were recorded separately for the two groups of patients. Imaging studies included pre- and postoperative radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography. The clinical outcomes were measured by Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores, and a visual analogue scale (VAS) for back and leg pain. RESULTS: All patients completed the surgery successfully with a mean follow-up of 56.09 months. The operative time and intraoperative bleeding were lower in the TTL group than in the Rigid group (p < 0.05). All patients showed significant improvements in clinical outcomes, including VAS for back and leg pain, and ODI scores (p < 0.05). ODI scores, the TTL group was better than the Rigid group at 1 year after surgery and at the final follow-up (p < 0.05). Postoperative surgical segment range of motion (ROM) decreased in both groups (p < 0.05). The postoperative ROM of the upper adjacent segment increased in both groups and was significantly higher in both groups at the last follow-up compared with the preoperative period (p < 0.05), and the superior adjacent segment rom of the TTL group was lower than the Rigid group (p < 0.05). The modified Pfrrmann classification of the superior adjacent segment was significantly increased in both groups at the last follow-up (p < 0.05). And in the TTL group, ROM, DH, and modified Pfrrmann grading of dynamic segment outperformed fusion segments. According to the UCLA classification, the incidence of adjacent segment degeneration (ASD) was 4.2% in the TTL group and 23.8% in the Rigid group, and the incidence of ASD was lower in the TTL group than in the Rigid group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The Isobar TTL System was utilized in two-level lumbar hybrid surgery, resulting in no evident indications of lumbar instability being detected on X-rays captured at a minimum of 4 years after the operation, while retaining partial range of motion of the surgical segment. The general clinical efficacy is equivalent to titanium rod fusion surgery, presenting an alternative treatment for individuals with mild and moderate lumbar degenerative disease.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between surgical segment mobility and fatty infiltration of the adjacent segment paravertebral muscles in patients with single-segment lumbar degenerative disease (LDD) who underwent decompression with fusion or dynamic stabilization. METHODS: Retrospective analysis of patients who underwent lumbar decompression combined with titanium rod fixation intertransverse fusion (PITF group), Isobar TTL dynamic stabilization (TTL group) or Isobar EVO dynamic stabilization (EVO group) for single-segment lumbar degenerative disease, from March 2012 to July 2018. The preoperative and final follow-up clinical indexes C-LDSI and the measured imaging indexes (range of motion of the surgical segment and the upper adjacent segment, and Goutallier grade of the upper adjacent segment) were counted, and the differences between the preoperative and final follow-up indexes were compared. RESULTS: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 68 patients were included in this study, 21 in the PITF group, 24 in the TTL group, and 23 in the EVO group. At the final follow-up, the C-LSDI score had significantly higher in the PITF group than the TTL and EVO groups, and the C-LSDI score was a very strongly negatively correlated with ROM of surgical segment (r=-0.7968, p < 0.001). There was a strong negative correlation between surgical segment and upper adjacent segment mobility (r = -0.6959, p < 0.001). And there was a very strong negative correlation between ROM of surgical segment and upper adjacent segment paravertebral muscle Goutallier classification (r = -0.8092, p < 0.001), whereas the ROM of the upper adjacent segment was strong positive correlated with the Goutallier classification (r = 0.6703, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Compared with decompression combined with rigid fusion, decompression combined with dynamic fixation for single-segment lumbar degenerative disease can significantly reduce postoperative low back stiffness. And a certain range of increased mobility of the dynamic stabilization device can effectively reduce the compensatory mobility of the upper adjacent segment and slow down the fatty infiltration of the paravertebral muscle in the adjacent segment.

RESUMO

The use of microbial adsorption for metal ions to prepare novel carbon-supported metal nanomaterials has attracted growing research attention. However, the relationship between the adsorbed metal content and catalytic performance of the resulting nanomaterials is unclear. In this work,Pichia pastoris residueswas utilized to adsorb Ce(Ⅲ) at different metal ion concentrations, and then CeO2@C nanomaterials were prepared by pyrolysis. The effects of solution pH and adsorption behavior were investigated. The prepared nanostructures were characterized using electron microscopy and different spectroscopy methods, and their catalytic performances in the removal of salicylic acid from solution by catalytic ozonation were invested. The microbial residue had a metal uptake of 172.00 ± 2.82 mg· g-1at pH 6. In addition, the efficiency of total organic carbon (TOC) removal increased from 21.54% to 34.10% with an increase in metal content in the catalysts from 0 mg· g-1to 170.05 mg· g-1. After pyrolysis, the absorbed Ce(Ⅲ) metal transformed to CeO2metal nanoparticles embedded in a carbon matrix and had a core-shell CeO2@C structure. Therefore, this work not only reveals a relationship between metal content and catalytic performance, but also provides an approach for studying performance of materials with different metal contents loaded on various carriers.

RESUMO

Many epidemiological studies have assessed the association between maternal antibiotic exposure during pregnancy and childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), while reaching inconsistent conclusions. In order to clarify the association, the publications in English that provided information about maternal antibiotic exposure during pregnancy and ALL risk in offspring in the PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases were systematically reviewed and we performed a meta-analysis using the random-effect models. Results of pooled analysis showed that maternal antibiotic intake during pregnancy is not associated with childhood ALL risk (pooled odds ratio 1.07, 95% confidence interval 0.98-1.18) without significant heterogeneity (I2 = 13.7%, P = 0.310). This finding was consistent across subgroups stratified by type of study design, measurement method, sample size, study quality, and pregnancy stage. Our findings suggest that maternal antibiotic consumption during pregnancy was not associated with ALL risk in progeny. Further investigations are needed to confirm the results and assess any risk differences of ALL by types of antibiotics. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that maternal antibiotics consumption during pregnancy was not associated with ALL risk in progeny. Further investigations are needed to confirm the results and assess any risk differences of ALL by types of antibiotics. What is Known: • It is not unusual for pregnant woman to receive antibiotics for local or systematic use during pregnancy. • The conclusions regarding the associations between maternal antibiotics use during pregnancy and childhood ALL risk were inconsistent. What is New: • Maternal antibiotics consumption during pregnancy was not associated with the increased ALL risk in offspring. • Further laboratory evidences are needed to confirm the results.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a malignancy worldwide. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) affects the growth of PC, nonetheless the mechanism is blurry. Here, we reconnoitered the parts of hsa_circ_0050102 in PC. METHODS: Hsa_circ_0050102, microRNA-218-5p (miR-218-5p) and protein phosphatase methylesterase 1 (PPME1) abundances were indicated by quantitative RT-PCR or Western blot. Moreover, the cell functions were uncovered. Additionally, the relation of miR-218-5p and hsa_circ_0050102 or PPME1 was identified by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Ultimately, the mice teats were utilized to quantity the part of hsa_circ_0050102. RESULTS: Hsa_circ_0050102 and PPME1 contents were increased, and the miR-218-5p was dwindled in PC. Hsa_circ_0050102 lack subdued cell vitality, colony formation, cell migration and invasion, and angiogenesis, but endorsed cell apoptosis in PC cells. Furthermore, miR-218-5p was established to block the development of PC cells via PPME1. Hsa_circ_0050102 bound to miR-218-5p to adjust the content of PPME1. CONCLUSION: Hsa_circ_0050102 expedited the expansion of PC through growing PPME1 abundance by adjusting miR-218-5p.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Posterior instrumented fusion is the most widely accepted surgical treatment for spinal stenosis and disc herniation. However, fusion can affect daily activities due to lumbar stiffness. In recent years, dynamic stabilization has been introduced to overcome the drawbacks of fusion, however, it is inconclusive whether dynamic stabilization requires the maintenance of a level of activity that is closer to the physiological state of activity for better clinical efficacy. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of dynamic stabilization with different levels of activity (Isobar EVO and TTL) in the treatment of spinal stenosis and disc herniation. METHODS: This study retrospectively reviewed 80 consecutive patients with lumbar degenerative diseases who were undergoing surgical treatment between March 2014 and July 2018. 41 patients (EVO group) and 39 patients (TTL group) underwent fenestrated decompression with Isobar EVO stabilization and Isobar TTL stabilization, respectively. Clinical outcomes, radiographic data, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: At an average follow-up of 52.23 ± 2.97 months, there were no significant differences in the oswestry disability index (ODI) (P > 0.05). The visual analog scale for back pain (VASback) and visual analog scale for the leg pain (VASleg) of the EVO group were lower compared with the TTL group (P < 0.05). The range of motion (ROM) of operated segments were significantly higher in the EVO group as compared to the TTL group (P < 0.05). The intervertebral space height (ISH) of upper adjacent segments were significantly higher in the EVO group as compared to the TTL group (P < 0.05). The overall complications were less in the EVO group, but the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Both Isobar EVO dynamic stabilization and TTL dynamic stabilization can improve clinical outcomes of patients with spinal stenosis and disc herniation. Isobar EVO has advantages over Isobar TTL in terms of improving low back and leg pain, maintaining mobility of the operated segment, and preventing further degeneration of the upper adjacent segment.

RESUMO

Coking wastewater has a complex and highly concentrated chemical composition which is toxic and does not biodegrade easily. Treating the organic pollutants in this wastewater is very challenging. The toxic substances in this wastewater make traditional biotechnological treatments inefficient. Current wastewater treatment studies are based on unit processes, and no full process studies could be found. This study used the micro-nanometer catalytic ozonation process as a pretreatment unit, and reverse osmosis membrane treatment as a depth processing unit to improve the effect of the coking wastewater degradation. The micro-nanometer catalytic ozonation pretreatment greatly improves the biodegradability of the coking wastewater and promotes the coking wastewater degradation in the anoxia/anaerobic/oxic (A/A/O) system. The integrated coagulation air flotation-micro-nanometer catalytic ozonation-A/A/O-reverse osmosis membrane system can remove 98% of the chemical oxygen demand, which meets the direct emission standard of the new national standard (China). The dominant genera in the A/A/O biochemical reactor were Thioalkalimicrobium, Proteiniphilum, Azoarcu, Bacillus, Fontibacter, and Taibaiella. This work provides a novel approach for the degradation of high-concentration organic wastewater and lays a solid foundation for the restoration of environmental water bodies.

RESUMO

In recent years, the pyrolysis of microbial biomasses that adsorb various metal ions has enabled the preparation of carbon-based polymetallic nanomaterials with excellent electrocatalytic and electrical energy storage properties. However, the preparation of ozone catalysts by this technique and the corresponding catalytic oxidation mechanism are still unclear. In this study, an Escherichia coli strain (BL21) was used for tetra-metal (Cu, Fe, Mn and Al) absorption and the obtained microbial biomass was pyrolyzed under the protection of a nitrogen flow at 700 °C and activated at 900 °C to prepare a microbial-char-based tetra-metal ozone catalyst (MCOC). This was used to degrade phenol and coking wastewater and exhibited a strong catalytic capability for coking wastewater, whose chemical oxygen demand removal efficiency of 70.86% is 16.7% higher than that of pure ozone and 14.67%, 7.21% and 3.58% higher than that of three commercial catalysts, respectively. It also improved the efficiency of ozonation for phenol by 33%. The MCOC was characterized by x-ray diffraction, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and other methods. The results demonstrated that the spherical metal nanoparticles had sizes ranging from 3 nm to 7 nm and that crystals of Fe2O3 and Fe3P were observed. The study showed that the MCOC promoted the production of more hydroxyl radicals and superoxides from ozone, which attack organics. The oxygen vacancies of the catalyst were also investigated. It was proved that the Lewis acid sites on the surface of metal oxides are the active centers of ozone decomposition. Therefore, this work provides a new method for the synthesis of multi-metal nanocomposites and expands the application of biosynthetic nanomaterials.

RESUMO

We present a two-dimensional (2D) Si photonics optical phased array (OPA) using a serpentine design which eliminates the long directional couplers used in many 2D OPA designs. It significantly reduces the distance between the antenna benefitting far-field sidelobe reduction while maintaining high optical power use efficiency.

RESUMO

Weight is an important indicator of the growth and development of dairy cows. The traditional static weighing methods require considerable human and financial resources, and the existing dynamic weighing algorithms do not consider the influence of the cow motion state on the weight curve. In this paper, a dynamic weighing algorithm for cows based on a support vector machine (SVM) and empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is proposed for classification and analysis. First, the dynamic weight curve is obtained by using a weighing device placed along a cow travel corridor. Next, the data are preprocessed through valid signal acquisition, feature extraction, and normalization, and the results are divided into three active degrees during motion for low, medium, and high grade using the SVM algorithm. Finally, a mean filtering algorithm, the EWT algorithm, and a combined periodic continuation-EWT algorithm are used to obtain the dynamic weight values. Weight data were collected for 910 cows, and the experimental results displayed a classification accuracy of 98.6928%. The three algorithms were used to calculate the dynamic weight values for comparison with real values, and the average error rates were 0.1838%, 0.6724%, and 0.9462%. This method can be widely used at farms and expand the current knowledgebase regarding the dynamic weighing of cows.

RESUMO

Bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) often exhibit improved catalytic performance due to the electronic and spatial structure changes. Herein, a novel green biosynthesis method for Pd-Pt alloy NPs using Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 was proposed. The morphology, size and crystal structure of Pd-Pt alloy NPs were studied by a suite of characterization techniques. Results showed Pd-Pt alloy NPs were successfully synthesized inside and outside the cell. The biosynthesized Pd-Pt alloy NPs were polycrystalline and face-centered-cubic structure with the particle size ranged from 3-40 nm. Furthermore, the catalytic experiment demonstrated that the Pd-Pt alloy NPs exhibited the highest performance for the catalytic reduction of nitrophenol and azo dyes compared with the as-synthesized Pd and Pt monometallic NPs. This enlarged catalytic activity resulted from the synergistic effect of Pd and Pt element. Thereby, this paper provided a simple biosynthesis method for producing bimetallic alloy nanocatalyst with superior activity for contaminant degradation.

Under the catalysis of chiral palladium(0)/ligand complex, the [4 + 2] cycloaddition between vinyl benzoxazinanones and barbiturate-based olefins proceeded readily and provided barbiturate-fused spirotetrahydroquinolines in up to 96% chemical yield with up to >99:1 dr and 97% ee. The absolute configuration of barbiturate-fused spirotetrahydroquinolines was clearly identified by X-ray single crystal structure analysis. The reaction mechanism was proposed to shed light on the enantioselective formation of barbiturate-fused spirotetrahydroquinolines.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of liver cancer with high mortality and poor prognosis. Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathways have been implicated in promoting tumor cell proliferation and invasion of HCC cells. METHODS: As a potential inhibitor of tumor metastasis, the role of Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP) in HCC development and the functional relevance with MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways were investigated. The levels of RKIP expression were examined in human HCC tissues and correlated with tumor stages and metastatic status. Function of RKIP in cellular proliferation, migration, invasion and apoptosis was investigated in HCC cell lines by either overexpressing or knocking down RKIP expression. Mouse xenograft model was established to assess the effect of RKIP expression on tumor growth. RESULTS: Our results demonstrated decreased RKIP expression in HCC tissues and a strong correlation with tumor grade and distant metastasis. Manipulation of RKIP expression in HCCLM3 and HepG2 cells indicated that RKIP functioned to inhibit HCC cell motility and invasiveness, and contributed to tumor growth inhibition in vivo. Mechanistic studies showed that the function of RKIP was mediated through MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. However, cell type-dependent RKIP regulation on these two pathways was also suggested, indicating the complex nature of signaling network. CONCLUSION: Our study provides a better understanding on the molecular mechanisms of HCC metastasis and sets the foundation for the development of targeted therapeutics for HCC.

RESUMO

Aprotic Li-O2 batteries have attracted a huge amount of interest in the past decade owing to their extremely high energy density. However, identifying a desirable cathodic catalyst for this promising battery system is one of the biggest challenges at present. In this work, a multi-layered Fe2O3/graphene nanosheets (Fe2O3/GNS) composite with sandwich structure was synthesized using an easy thermal casting method, and served as a cathodic catalyst for aprotic Li-O2 batteries. The aprotic Li-O2 cell with the Fe2O3/GNS catalyst demonstrated a better reversibility, lower overpotential for oxygen evolution, and a higher Coulombic efficiency (close to 100%) than those of pure GNS. An excellent rate performance and good cycle stability were also confirmed. The results, characterized by ex and in situ methods, revealed that the dominant discharge product Li2O2 was decomposed below 4.35 V. This superior electrochemical performance is mainly attributed to the unique sandwich structure of the Fe2O3/GNS catalyst with mesopores, which can provide substantially more catalytic sites and prevent direct contact between carbon and Li2O2.

RESUMO

IMD pathway is an important signaling pathway in regulating the innate immunity of invertebrate. IMD is regarded as a key adaptor to link the extracellular signals and intracellular signals. In the present study, a full-length cDNA encoding an IMD homolog (FcIMD) was isolated from Chinese shrimp Fenneropenaeus chinensis. It consists of 767 bp with a 483 bp open reading frame encoding 160 amino acids. A death domain was predicted which is crucial to the immune function of IMD. Tissue expression analysis showed that FcIMD mRNA had different expression level in different tissues. The transcriptional expression of FcIMD in shrimp was significantly induced at early stage (1 h) after stimulation by Vibrio or Micrococcus which suggested its important role in the immunity of shrimp to bacterium infection. The expressions of shrimp antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) were affected when FcIMD was silenced by dsRNA interference. Through analyzing the expression of FcRelish, FcDorsal and FcJNK in FcIMD silenced shrimp at 1 h post Vibrio injection, we deduced that IMD was involved in Relish regulated signaling pathway, not in Dorsal or JNK regulated signaling pathway.

RESUMO

Social anxiety is a common comorbid factor of problematic mobile phone use, but the relationship between them from the inside structure has been underexplored. This two-wave longitudinal study aims to identify the central symptoms of problematic mobile phone use and social anxiety, respectively, as well as the bridge symptoms between the two disorders. Furthermore, this study examined the time and gender differences. A total of 3,294 Chinese adolescents were recruited during two waves (T1: January 2023; T2: August 2023), and completed the questionnaires of social anxiety and problematic mobile phone use. Through network analysis, the results showed that 1) the central symptom of problematic mobile phone use was "loss of control" both at T1 and T2, 2) the central symptom of social anxiety was "fear of negative evaluation" both at T1 and T2, and 3) the bridge symptom between social anxiety and problematic mobile phone use was "withdrawal" both at T1 and T2. Moreover, the network comparison test indicated that the nodes of social anxiety were more strongly associated with "craving", "loss of control", and "negative life consequences" of problematic mobile phone use at T2 than at T1. The nodes of social anxiety were more strongly associated with "negative life consequences" of problematic mobile phone use for boys than for girls, while the "fear of negative evaluation" was more strongly associated with "loss of control" for girls than for boys. These findings provide new scientific basis for interventions targeting adolescents who are susceptible to social anxiety and problematic mobile phone use.
