RESUMO

The theoretical charge density study for the gas phase of anti-leprosy drug Dapsone has been carried out in the light of the theory of atoms in molecules using density functional theory employing B3LYP(6-311G++(d, p) hybrid functional completed with dispersion corrections. The Hirshfeld surface analysis as well as fingerprint plots has been utilized to visualize and quantify the intermolecular contacts present in the molecule. The topological properties such as electron density and its Laplacian, delocalization index have been elucidated to throw light into the chemical bonding and atomic and molecular details. The electron localization function has been used to visualize and deduce information on the lone pair and the subshells of the Cl atom. The electrostatic potential visualizes the positive and negative electrostatic potential regions which are susceptible to nucleophilic and electrophilic attack. On the whole, this study provides an exact mechanism, interaction, and topological and electrostatic properties of the drug through theoretical insights which all will be a platform for our further investigation of the interaction between dapsone and dihydropteroate synthase (DHPS).

RESUMO

Aflatoxins are sequential of derivatives of coumarin and dihydrofuran with similar chemical structures and well-known carcinogenic agent. Many studies performed to detoxify aflatoxins, but the result is not ideal. Therefore, we studied structural, infrared spectrum, mechanical, and optical properties of these compounds in the aim of perspective physics. Mulliken charge distributions and infrared spectral analysis performed to understand the structural difference between the basic types of aflatoxins. In addition, the effect of pressure, different polarized, and incident directions on their structural changes was determined. It is found that AFB1 is most stable structure among four basic types aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2), and IR spectra are analyzed to exhibit the difference on structures of them. The mechanical properties of AFB1 indicate that the structure of this toxin can be easily changed by pressure. The real [Formula: see text] and imaginary [Formula: see text] parts of the dielectric function, and the absorption coefficient [Formula: see text] and energy loss spectrum [Formula: see text] were also obtained under different polarized and incident directions. Furthermore, biological experiments needed to support the toxic level of AFB1 using optical technologies.

RESUMO

Recently there has been fabulous excitement in the nano-biotechnological area for the study of nanoparticles synthesis using some natural biological system, which has led the growth advanced nanomaterials. This intention made us to assess the biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles from the leaf of Suaeda monoica (S.monoica) using 1 mM silver nitrate. The leaf extract of S.monoica incubated with 1 mM silver nitrate solution and characterized by UV- spectrometer and AFM. The effect of synthesized silver nanoparticles on Human Epidermoid Larynx Carcinoma cell line was evaluated by the MTT colorimetric technique. As a result we observed gradual change in the colour of extract from greenish to brown. The synthesized silver nanoparticles confirmed by UV at 430 nm and spherical shape identified in the range of 31 nm under AFM. The effect of silver nanoparticles on Human Epidermoid Larynx Carcinoma cell line exhibits a dose-dependent toxicity for the cell tested and the viability of Hep-2 cells decreased to 50 % (IC(50)) at the concentration of 500 nM. Further findings will be determined the exact mechanisms of this cost effective Nano-treatments.
