RESUMO

Using data from the 2022 Korea Community Health Survey (n = 13 320), this study investigated helmet use and related factors among Korean adults using personal mobility devices, without distinguishing between private and hired users. Among mobility device users, 32.1% responded that they always wore a helmet. The proportion of helmet use was 35.2% among men, 25.8% among women, 29.2% among those aged 19-44 years, 42.3% among those aged 45-64 years and 26.6% among those aged 65 years or older. Furthermore, those who drank less frequently and were physically active were more likely to wear helmets. Moreover, people who always wore a seat belt when driving a car or sitting in the rear seat and people who always wore a helmet when riding a motorcycle were more likely to wear a helmet while using electric personal mobility devices. Approximately one-third of users always wore a helmet. The helmet-wearing rate was related to general characteristics such as gender and education level, and to safety behaviors such as wearing a seat belt when driving a car, sitting in the rear seat of a car, or when riding a motorcycle. In addition to considering personal characteristics investigated in this study, the helmet-wearing rate should be improved through policies or systems at the national or regional levels.

RESUMO

The global exploration of evolutionary trends in groupers, based on mitogenomes, is currently underway. This research extensively investigates the structure of and variations in Cephalopholis species mitogenomes, along with their phylogenetic relationships, focusing specifically on Cephalopholis taeniops from the Eastern Atlantic Ocean. The generated mitogenome spans 16,572 base pairs and exhibits a gene order analogous to that of the ancestral teleost's, featuring 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and an AT-rich control region. The mitogenome of C. taeniops displays an AT bias (54.99%), aligning with related species. The majority of PCGs in the mitogenome initiate with the start codon ATG, with the exceptions being COI (GTG) and atp6 (TTG). The relative synonymous codon usage analysis revealed the maximum abundance of leucine, proline, serine, and threonine. The nonsynonymous/synonymous ratios were <1, which indicates a strong negative selection among all PCGs of the Cephalopholis species. In C. taeniops, the prevalent transfer RNAs display conventional cloverleaf secondary structures, except for tRNA-serine (GCT), which lacks a dihydrouracil (DHU) stem. A comparative examination of conserved domains and sequence blocks across various Cephalopholis species indicates noteworthy variations in length and nucleotide diversity. Maximum likelihood, neighbor-joining, and Bayesian phylogenetic analyses, employing the concatenated PCGs and a combination of PCGs + rRNAs, distinctly separate all Cephalopholis species, including C. taeniops. Overall, these findings deepen our understanding of evolutionary relationships among serranid groupers, emphasizing the significance of structural considerations in mitogenomic analyses.

RESUMO

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response is an evolutionarily conserved mechanism in most eukaryotes. In this response, sterols in the phospholipid bilayer play a crucial role in controlling membrane fluidity and homeostasis. Despite the significance of both the ER stress response and sterols in maintaining ER homeostasis, their relationship remains poorly explored. Our investigation focused on Chlamydomonas strain CC-4533 and revealed that free sterol biosynthesis increased in response to ER stress, except in mutants of the ER stress sensor IRE1. Transcript analysis of Chlamydomonas experiencing ER stress unveiled the regulatory role of the IRE1/bZIP1 pathway in inducing the expression of ERG5, which encodes C-22 sterol desaturase. Through the isolation of three erg5 mutant alleles, we observed a defect in the synthesis of Chlamydomonas' sterol end products, ergosterol and 7-dehydroporiferasterol. Furthermore, these erg5 mutants also exhibited increased sensitivity to ER stress induced by brefeldin A (BFA, an inhibitor of ER-Golgi trafficking), whereas tunicamycin (Tm, an inhibitor of N-glycosylation) and dithiothreitol (DTT, an inhibitor of disulfide-bond formation) had no such effect. Intriguingly, the sterol biosynthesis inhibitors fenpropimorph (Fp) and fenhexamid (Fh), which impede steps upstream of the ERG5 enzyme in sterol biosynthesis, rescued BFA hypersensitivity in CC-4533 cells. Collectively, our findings support the conclusion that the accumulation of intermediates in the sterol biosynthetic pathway influences ER stress in a complex manner. This study highlights the significance and complexity of regulating sterol biosynthesis during the ER stress response in microalgae.

RESUMO

The use of photocatalysts for acquiring direct photon energy from sunlight is a promising way to clean the environment, particularly the remediation of contaminants from water. In this work, firstly π-conjugated organic semiconductor configuring benzoselenadiazole, 4-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl) phenyl)-7-(5'-hexyl-[2,2'-bithiophen]-5-yl)-benzo [c] (Kümmerer, 2009; Chen et al., 2018; Randeep et al., 201) selenadiazole, abbreviated as (RTh-Se-F), was synthesized. The designed RTh-Se-F with an extended π-conjugation showed good optical properties in the visible region and estimated a low optical band gap of ∼2.02 eV . The molecular orbitals i.e. HOMO (-5.33 eV) and LUMO (-3.31 eV) for RTh-Se-F organic semiconductor were suitably aligned to energy levels of (Madhavan et al., 2010Madhavan et al., 2010)-Phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl esters (PC71BM) which resulted in the broadening of absorption and covering of entire visible region. RTh-Se-F was integrated with varied weight percentages (wt %) of PC71BM to obtain bulk heterojunction (BHJ) and applied as efficient visible light driven BHJ photocatalyst for an effective oxidation of ibuprofen. RTh-Se-F@PC71BM (1:2, wt %) BHJ photocatalyst showed the superior ibuprofen degradation of ∼93% within 90 min under visible light illumination. The maximum degradation rate by BHJ photocatalyst might be accredited to the broadening of absorption capacity and improved lifetime of photogenerated electron-hole pairs which might be resulted from high absorption properties of RTh-Se-F organic semiconductor.

RESUMO

A simple hydrothermal synthesis approach was used to synthesize porous MgNiO2 Chrysanthemum Flowers (CFs) nanostructures and applied as a sensing electrode for quick detection of hazardous mercury (Hg2+ ions). The morphological, structural, and electrochemical properties of MgNiO2 CFs were investigated. The morphological characteristic of MgNiO2 CFs, with a specific surface area of 45.618 m2/g, demonstrated strong electrochemical characteristics, including cations in different oxidation states of Ni3+/Ni2+. Using a three-electrode system for electrochemical detection, the MgNiO2 CFs based electrode revealed a good correlation coefficient (R2) of ~0.9721, a limit of detection (LOD) of ~11.7 µM, a quick response time (10 s), and a sensitivity of 8.22 µA∙µM-1∙cm-2 for Hg2+ ions over a broad linear range of 10-100 µM. Moreover, the selectivity for Hg2+ ions in tap water and drinking water was determined, and a promising stability of 25 days by MgNiO2 CFs electrode was exhibited. The obtained results indicate that the developed MgNiO2 CFs are a promising electrode for detecting hazardous Hg2+ ions in water and have the potential to be commercialized in the future.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Cynanchum wilfordii (Cw) and Cynanchum auriculatum (Ca) have long been used in traditional medicine and as functional food in Korea and China, respectively. They have diverse medicinal functions, and many studies have been conducted, including pharmaceutical efficiency and metabolites. Especially, Cw is regarded as the most famous medicinal herb in Korea due to its menopausal symptoms relieving effect. Despite the high demand for Cw in the market, both species are cultivated using wild resources with rare genomic information. RESULTS: We collected 160 Cw germplasm from local areas of Korea and analyzed their morphological diversity. Five Cw and one Ca of them, which were morphologically diverse, were sequenced, and nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) and complete plastid genome (plastome) sequences were assembled and annotated. We investigated the genomic characteristics of Cw as well as the genetic diversity of plastomes and nrDNA of Cw and Ca. The Cw haploid nuclear genome was approximately 178 Mbp. Karyotyping revealed the juxtaposition of 45S and 5S nrDNA on one of 11 chromosomes. Plastome sequences revealed 1226 interspecies polymorphisms and 11 Cw intraspecies polymorphisms. The 160 Cw accessions were grouped into 21 haplotypes based on seven plastome markers and into 108 haplotypes based on seven nuclear markers. Nuclear genotypes did not coincide with plastome haplotypes that reflect the frequent natural outcrossing events. CONCLUSIONS: Cw germplasm had a huge morphological diversity, and their wide range of genetic diversity was revealed through the investigation with 14 molecular markers. The morphological and genomic diversity, chromosome structure, and genome size provide fundamental genomic information for breeding of undomesticated Cw plants.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: To analyze the surgical outcomes for patients diagnosed with acquired nonaccommodative esotropia (ANAET). METHODS: In this retrospective study, the medical records of 35 patients who had undergone the surgery for ANAET with a postoperative follow-up period of 6 months or more were reviewed. The main outcome measures were postoperative esodeviation angle, final success rate, and factors affecting surgical outcome. Surgical success was considered to be an alignment within 8 prism diopters (PD) at distance and near. RESULTS: The preoperative mean esodeviation angles were 37.3 ± 13.7 PD at distance and 38.6 ± 16.6 PD at near. The postoperative mean esodeviation angles at distance were as follows: 4.2 PD at day 1, 4.0 PD at month 1, 3.9 PD at month 3, 4.9 PD at month 6, 4.7 PD at year 1, and 4.8 PD at final follow-up. There was no statistically significant difference in angle of esodeviation between the initial postoperative period (day 1 to month 6) and the final follow-up day (p > 0.05). The surgical success rate at final follow-up was 65.7% (23/35). Among the 12 patients for whom the surgery failed, 9 (24.3%) showed esotropia and 3 (8.1%) exotropia of more than 8 PD. Six patients (16.2%) underwent reoperation (4 for esotropia and 2 for exotropia). There was no factor influencing surgical outcome (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The surgical outcome in patients with ANAET was relatively favorable: the final success rate was 65.7% and the reoperation rate was 17.1%.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Family support can help older adults better adhere to exercise routine, but it remains unclear whether an exercise program targeting older married couples would have stronger effects on exercise adherence than would a program for individuals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an exercise program on the exercise adherence of older married couples over a 24-week follow-up period. METHODS: Thirty-four older married couples and 59 older adults participated in this study as couple and non-couple groups (CG and NCG, respectively). All participants attended an 8-week supervised program (once a week and a home-based exercise program comprising walking and strength exercises) and then participated in a follow-up measurement (24 weeks after post-intervention measurement). Exercise adherence was prospectively measured via an exercise habituation diary during the follow-up period-specifically, we asked them to record practice rates for walking (≥2 days/week) and strength exercises (≥6 items for 2 days/week). A multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to obtain the CG's odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for adherence to walking and strength exercise adjusted for potential confounders (with NCG as the reference). RESULTS: Although the adherence rate of walking exercise in the CG was significantly higher than that in the NCG (29.2%; P < 0.001), there was no significant difference in the adherence rate of strength exercise between the two groups (P = 0.199). The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that CG had significantly higher odds of adherence to walking exercise compared with the NCG (3.68 [1.57-8.60]). However, the odds of adherence to strength exercise did not significantly differ between the two groups (1.30 [0.52-3.26]). CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that an exercise program targeting older married couples may be a useful strategy for maintaining walking adherence, even six months after the supervised program has ceased. A blinded randomized controlled trial will be needed to confirm this conclusion. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Retrospectively registered. UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (Registered: 02/11/16) UMIN000024689 .

RESUMO

Understanding the crosstalk mechanisms between perivascular cells (PVCs) and cancer cells might be beneficial in preventing cancer development and metastasis. In this study, we investigated the paracrine influence of PVCs derived from human umbilical cords on the proliferation of lung adenocarcinoma epithelial cells (A549) and erythroleukemia cells (TF-1α and K562) in vitro using Transwell® co-culture systems. PVCs promoted the proliferation of A549 cells without inducing morphological changes, but had no effect on the proliferation of TF-1α and K562 cells. To identify the factors secreted from PVCs, conditioned media harvested from PVC cultures were analyzed by antibody arrays. We identified a set of cytokines, including persephin (PSPN), a neurotrophic factor, and a key regulator of oral squamous cell carcinoma progression. Supplementation with PSPN significantly increased the proliferation of A549 cells. These results suggested that PVCs produced a differential effect on the proliferation of cancer cells in a cell-type dependent manner. Further, secretome analyses of PVCs and the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms could facilitate the discovery of therapeutic target(s) for lung cancer.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To describe an unusual case of endogenous Klebsiella endophthalmitis associated with prostatic abscess in an immunocompetent patient. CASE REPORT: A 59-year-old previously healthy man presented with rapidly progressive retinal vasculitis in the left eye. He received an empirical antibiotic and antiviral agent intravenously followed by oral prednisolone until the etiology was identified; however, intraocular inflammation in the left eye continued to worsen, followed by the development of subretinal abscess in the contralateral eye. Finally, a diagnosis of endogenous Klebsiella endophthalmitis associated with prostatic abscess was made through a culture of the vitreous acquired by diagnostic vitrectomy. However, we could not save the vision of the left eye despite the intensive treatment with intravenous and intravitreal injections of antibiotics. CONCLUSIONS: Rapidly progressive retinal vasculitis could be an initial sign of endogenous Klebsiella endophthalmitis even in an immunocompetent patient.

RESUMO

In this study, well-defined tungsten oxide (WO3) nanowall (NW) thin films were synthesized via a controlled hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) technique and applied for electrochemical detection of methylamine toxic substances. Herein, for the thin-film growth by HFCVD, the temperature of tungsten (W) wire was held constant at ~1450 °C and gasification was performed by heating of W wire using varied substrate temperatures ranging from 350 °C to 450 °C. At an optimized growth temperature of 400 °C, well-defined and extremely dense WO3 nanowall-like structures were developed on a Si substrate. Structural, crystallographic, and compositional characterizations confirmed that the deposited WO3 thin films possessed monoclinic crystal structures of high crystal quality. For electrochemical sensing applications, WO3 NW thin film was used as an electrode, and cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) were measured with a wide concentration range of 20 µM~1 mM of methylamine. The fabricated electrochemical sensor achieved a sensitivity of ~183.65 µA mM-1 cm-2, a limit of detection (LOD) of ~20 µM and a quick response time of 10 s. Thus, the fabricated electrochemical sensor exhibited promising detection of methylamine with considerable stability and reproducibility.

RESUMO

Microplastics (MPs) poses a significant threat to ecosystems and human health, demanding immediate attention. The reported research work offers an effective and low cost method towards the detection of toxic MPs. In this study, hydrophobic cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) are synthesized and applied as promising electrode material for the detection of two different types of MPs, i.e. polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). Through electrochemical analyses, such as cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), hydrophobic CeO2 NPs modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) based sensor demonstrated remarkable sensitivity of ∼0.0343 AmLmg-1cm-2 and detection limit of ∼0.226 mgmL-1, with promising correlation coefficient (R2) towards the detection of PE (∼27-32 µm). Furthermore, hydrophobic CeO2 NPs modified GCE exhibited promising stability and reproducibility towards PE (∼27-32 µm), suggesting the promising potential of hydrophobic CeO2 NPs as electrode materials for an electrochemical microplastics detection.

RESUMO

In recent times, microplastics have become a disturbance to both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and the ingestion of these particles can have severe consequences for wildlife, aquatic organisms, and even humans. In this study, two types of biochars were manufactured through the carbonization of naturally found starfish (SF-1) and aloevera (AL-1). The produced biochars were utilized as sensing electrode materials for the electrochemical detection of ∼100 nm polystyrene microplastics (PS). SF-1 and AL-1 based biochars were thoroughly analyzed in terms of morphology, structure, and composition. The detection of microplastics over biochar based electrodes was carried out by electrochemical studies. From electrochemical results, SF-1 based electrode exhibited the detection efficiency of ∼0.2562 µA/µM∙cm2 with detection limit of ∼0.44 nM whereas, a high detection efficiency of ∼3.263 µA/µM∙cm2 was shown by AL-1 based electrode and detection limit of ∼0.52 nM for PS (100 nm) microplastics. Process contributed to enhancing the sensitivity of AL-1 based electrode might associate to the presence of metal-carbon framework over biochar's surfaces. The AL-1 biochar electrode demonstrated excellent repeatability and detection stability for PS microplastics, suggesting the promising potential of AL-1 biochar for electrochemical microplastics detection.

RESUMO

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease accompanied by neuroimmune inflammation in the frontal cortex and hippocampus. Recently, the presence of bacteria in AD-affected brains has been documented, prompting speculation about their potential role in AD-associated neuroinflammation. However, the characterization of bacteriota in human brains affected by AD remains inconclusive. This study aimed to investigate potential associations between specific bacteria and AD pathology by examining brain tissues from AD-associated neurodegenerative regions (frontal cortex and hippocampus) and the non-AD-associated hypothalamus. Employing 16S rRNA gene sequencing, 30 postmortem brain tissue samples from four individuals with normal brain histology (N) and four AD patients were analyzed, along with three blank controls. A remarkably low biomass characterized the brain bacteriota, with their overall structures delineated primarily by brain regions rather than the presence of AD. While most analyzed parameters exhibited no significant distinction in the brain bacteriota between the N and AD groups, the unique detection of Cloacibacterium normanense in the AD-associated neurodegenerative regions stood out. Additionally, infection-associated bacteria, as opposed to periodontal pathogens, were notably enriched in AD brains. This study's findings provide valuable insights into potential link between bacterial infection and neuroinflammation in AD.

RESUMO

Ophiuroids are a diversified benthic taxon in the deep sea. Given their various dispersal strategies, they are considered an adequate group to assess genetic connectivity, especially in the seamounts that function as islands. Ophioleila elegans A.H. Clark, 1949, in the family Ophiothamnidae, was previously reported from the Caiwei Guyot, a seamount in the northwest Pacific Ocean. Here, we described the mitochondrial genome of O. elegans collected from another seamount in the northwest Pacific. The whole mitogenome is 16,376 bp in length and encodes 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on the mitogenome sequences showed that O. elegans was clustered with Histampica sp., the only species for which mitogenome sequence has been reported within the family Ophiothamnidae. The complete mitogenome of O. elegans first reported in the present study provides useful information for population genetics and evolutionary relationship of this taxon, especially in the northwest Pacific seamounts.

RESUMO

A simple and sensitive method based on liquid chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-APCI-MS/MS) was developed and validated to determine the levels of 13N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances migrated from rubber teats into artificial saliva. The migration test from rubber teats was conducted at 40 °C and for 24 h in artificial saliva, and the migrated artificial saliva solution was analysed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) without further extracting steps. The sensitivity of N-nitrosamines was examined by applying atmospheric chemical ionisation and electrospray ionisation to optimise the mass spectrometric conditions, and the atmospheric chemical ionisation (APCI) mode exhibited 1.6-19 times higher sensitivity. Method validation showed acceptable linearity, precision, and accuracy, and the detection and quantification limits were 0.07-0.35 and 0.24-1.1 µg kg-1, respectively. The developed liquid chromatography-atmospheric chemical ionisation-tandem mass spectrometry method was applied to 39 domestic and imported rubber teats. From 39 samples, N-nitrosamines [N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), N-nitrosomorpholine (NMOR), and N-nitroso n-methyl N-phenylamine (NMPhA)] were detected in 30 samples, with N-nitrosatable substances in 17 samples give rise to NDMA, NMOR, and N-nitrosodiethylamine. However, the levels were below the specific migration limit of Korean Standards and Specifications for Food Containers, Utensils, and Packages and EC Directive 93/11/EEC.

RESUMO

In this study, a simple approach was used for the synthesis of a water-soluble hyaluronic acid-quercetin (HA-Q) pendant drug conjugate to evaluate its potential wound-healing properties. The HA-Q conjugation was confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-Vis), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy techniques. To produce the HA-Q, quercetin was conjugated on the HA backbone to the extent of 44.7 %. The HA-Q conjugate was soluble in water and a solution with a concentration of 20 mg/ml was prepared. The conjugate exhibited good biocompatibility and supported the growth and cell migration of skin fibroblast cells. HA-Q presented improved radical scavenging capacity compared to quercetin (Q) alone. The overall results confirmed the potential role of HA-Q in wound healing applications.

RESUMO

This work narrates the preparation of efficient nanomaterials framework of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoglobules (NGs) with graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) for the fabrication of rapid multiple ion field-effect transistor (MI-FET) sensors. Prepared ZnO-NGs@GO and ZnO-NGs@rGO nanocomposites were broadly analyzed by different analytical techniques to study their morphological, structural, compositional, and electrochemical properties. As electrode materials, ZnO-NGs@GO and ZnO-NGs@rGO were used to fabricate MI-FETs sensor for the detection of multiple ions such as Ni (II), Co (II), Cu (II), Cr (III), Fe (II), and Bi (II) ions. ZnO-NGs@GO and ZnO-NGs@rGO modified MI-FETs sensor exhibited excellent responses towards Cr (III) and Cu (II) ions, which presented the remarkable sensitivities of ~49.28 mA µM-1. cm-2 (Cr (III) ions) and ~185.32 mA µM-1. cm-2 (Cu (II) ions), respectively. The fabricated MI-FETs sensor displayed good dynamic linear detection of ions with low limit of detection (LOD) values of ~7.05 µM and ~14.9 µM for ZnO-NGs@GO and ZnO-NGs@rGO electrodes, respectively. Efficient charge transfer over electrode considerably enhanced the trace detection of Cr (III) and Cu (II) ions. The fabricated MI-FETs sensor platform exhibited extraordinary reproducibility and excellent stability of sensing performance and thus, confirmed delightful potential to sprout a useful tool for water maintaining system.

RESUMO

The climbing plant Cynanchum rostellatum (Turcz.) Liede & Khanum is widely distributed throughout Korea and Northeast Asia as a member of the Apocynaceae family. Although this plant has a high value in medicinal and industrial purposes, genetic research on this plant is insufficient. This study announces the complete plastid genome (plastome) sequence of C. rostellatum with 663× mean coverage, which was assembled using 763 Mbp short-read data generated by the Illumina HiSeq X platform. The C. rostellatum plastome was 158,018 bp in length and displayed the typical quadripartite structure composed of the large single-copy (LSC) region (89,058 bp), the small single-copy (SSC) region (18,718 bp), and a pair of inverted repeat (IR) regions (25,116 bp). A total of 129 genes have been annotated, including 84 protein-coding genes, 37 transfer RNA genes, and eight ribosomal RNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated the genus Cynanchum including 12 Cynanchum plastome sequences, was monophyletic and was located within the sub-family Asclepiadoideae. Two C. rostellatum plastomes, including the plastome assembled in this study, formed a subclade and were sister to the C. thesioides plastome, whereas the other C. rostellatum, which was previously reported one, was located within the clade of C. wilfordii and C. bungei.

RESUMO

As one of efforts to conserve a genetic resource of the endemic cobitid species in the Korean peninsula, the complete mitogenome of Cobitis hankugensis (Kim, Park, Son & Nalbant, 2003) was determined using Illumina MiSeq system. The circular mitogenome was 16,557 bp length and encoded 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, and a control region. Only the COX1 gene was identified with an aberrant initiation codon GTG, and an incomplete termination codon (T-/TA-) was identified in six PCGs including COX2, COX3, ND2, ND3, ND4, and Cytb genes. Phylogenetic analysis using 30 mitochondrial genomes belonging to Cobitidae, Botiidae, and Gyrinocheilidae showed that the highest identity (92.38%) with Kichulchoia brevifasciata (NC_027166). The complete mitogenome of C. hankugensis, an endemic species in Korea, will provide fundamental data on the evolutionary relationship of Cobitidae species.
