RESUMO

The article presents the results of experimental studies of multilayer nanostructures of magnetic straintronics formed by magnetron sputtering on a 100 mm silicon wafer. The object of the study is two types of nanostructures: Ta/FeNiCo/CoFe/Ta and Ta/FeNi/CoFe/Ta, differing in the ratio of magnetic layers. The magnetic and magnetoresistive characteristics of multilayer nanostructures under varying mechanical loads are studied both on a 100 mm wafer and in the form of 4 × 20 mm2 samples of two types. The first, where the axis of easy magnetization is directed along the long side of the sample, and the second, where the axis of easy magnetization is a tilt at 45°. Based on the obtained data, the conclusions about the practical application of these nanostructures in magnetic straintronics elements are drawn.

RESUMO

Spin-dependent tunneling structures are widely used in many spintronic devices and sensors. This paper describes the magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) characteristics caused by the inhomogeneous magnetic field of ferromagnetic layers. The extremely oblate magnetic ellipsoids have been used to mimic these layers. The strong effect of an inhomogeneous magnetic field on the magnetoresistive layers' interaction was demonstrated. The magnetostatic coupling coefficient is also calculated.

Acousto-optic processing of images is based on the angular selectivity of acousto-optic interaction resulting in spatial filtration of the image spectrum. We present recent theoretical and experimental investigations carried out in this field. Much attention is given to the analysis of the acousto-optic cell transfer function form depending on the crystal cut, the geometry of acousto-optic interaction, and the ultrasound frequency. Computer simulation results of the two-dimensional acousto-optic spatial filtration of some elementary images are presented. A new method of phase object visualization is suggested and examined that makes it possible to separate amplitude and phase information contained in an optical image. The potentialities of the acousto-optic image processing are experimentally demonstrated by examples of edge enhancement and optical wavefront visualization effects.

RESUMO

The plasmid pET-21d-2c-5BDelta55 effectively expressing a C-terminally truncated form (NS5BDelta55) of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) was constructed. It was derived from pET-21d-5BDelta55 plasmid and contained six mutations in the ATG-start codon region and an additional cistron upstream the target gene. The C-terminally His-tagged NS5BDelta55 protein was expressed in Rosetta(DE3) Escherichia coli strain bearing an additional pRARE plasmid encoding extra copies of rare tRNAs. The yield of the target enzyme exceeded by a factor of 29 the yield of NS5BDelta55 protein expressed from the parental pET-21d-5BDelta55 plasmid (5 mg/L). The increase in the protein yield could be explained by facilitated protein translation initiation, resulted from disruption of the stable secondary mRNA structure. The pET-21d-2c-5BDelta55 plasmid yielded one third amount of the protein when expressed in BL-21(DE3) strain, indicating that the pRARE plasmid is required for a high-level expression of NS5BDelta55 protein. The 29-fold enhancement of the protein yield was accompanied by only a 2.5-fold increase of the corresponding mRNA level. The expression of another HCV NS5A protein His-tagged at the C-terminus in the developed system yielded a similar amount of the protein (4 mg/L), whereas its N-terminally His-tagged counterpart was obtained in a 30 mg/L yield. The NS5A protein purified under denaturing conditions and renatured in solution inhibited the HCV RdRp and was a substrate for human casein kinase II.
