RESUMO

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common male malignancies as well as one of the frequent causes of tumor-induced death. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA transcripts that are more than 200 nucleotides in length, lack an open reading frame, and do not encode proteins. LncRNAs are abnormally expressed in most tumors including PCa and closely related to the recurrence, metastasis and prognosis of PCa. LncRNAs regulate gene expressions at multiple levels such as epigenetics, transcription and post-transcription, change metabolic pathways, and play a carcinogenic or anti-tumor role in the development and progression of PCa. Continuous androgen receptor (AR) signal transduction is one of the key features of castration-resistant PCa. This review briefly introduces the role of lncRNAs as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes in the development and progression of PCa, and expounds the possible molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs mediating PCa through the AR signaling pathway, post-transcriptional regulation represented by ceRNA, and tumor metabolism, aiming to provide potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of PCa.

RESUMO

Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a widely used material element detection technology. Because of its detection result is affected by many factors, and therefore, analysing and comparising the different experimental conditions have important significance for LIBS. Experimental sample produced by Beichuan County, Sichuan Province, China, which is ordinary Portland cement P. O42.5, using eight-channel fiber optic spectrometer AvaSpec-2048-USB2-RM, delay trigger DG645 for LIBS testing. Several metallic elements as Mg, Al, Na, K, which affect cement's technical indicators were analyzed. Mainly compares the effect of laser frequency, the same point measurement times on different metal element spectral signal intensity, the optimum experimental parameters under the condition of this experiment: 10 Hz was the best laser frequency. When laser frequency is 10 Hz, the spectrum intensity of elements Mg, Al, Na, K were increased by 67.66%, 47.88%, 84.59%, 43.36% than 8 Hz. Because the tablet samples in place, the surface will have a small amount of oxidation and deliquescence, in order to measure 10 times for an average income results were recorded under the condition, with third, four records of results for the best.

RESUMO

Limb viewing is a new viewing geometry for space-based atmospheric remote sensing, but the spectral radiance of atmosphere scattering reduces rapidly with limb height. So the signal-noise-ratio (SNR) is a key performance parameter of limb remote sensor. A SNR model varying with detector's temperature is proposed, based on analysis of spectral radiative transfer and noise' source in representative instruments. The SNR at limb height 70 km under space conditions was validated by simulation experiment on limb remote sensing spectrometer prototype. Theoretic analysis and experiment's results indicate congruously that when detector's temperature reduces to some extent, a maximum SNR will be reached. After considering the power consumption, thermal conductivity and other issues, optimal operating temperature of detector can be decided.

RESUMO

The present paper, focusing on the relationship between the fluorescence characteristics of fluorescent substances produced by the anaerobic reactors in process of the wastewater treatment status, aims to build an online detection platform of anaerobic wastewater treatment process for the wastewater treatment process parameter control, to provide effective, credible and stable technical basis, and to a certain extent can improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment. The results showed that it is feasible for this system to use fluorescence spectroscopy of wastewater treatment anaerobic reactor during the test; compared with the conventional detection method, it has simple structure, high sensitivity, and less time-consuming advantages; for other fluorescent substances in waste water treatment, it has broad application prospects.

RESUMO

The present study was about the effect of temperature (5-55 degrees C) and pH (3-12) value on the fluorescence characteristic of oily waste water from the export of China Petroleum & Chemical Oil Refinery. It was found that temperature only affects the fluorescence intensity but not the site of fluorescence peaks. The fluorescence peaks shift right that from 413 to 426.5 nm when the oily waste water is acid. And along with the enhancing of the acidity the fluorescence intensity ascended. The fluorescence intensity decreased with alkaline enhancing but the site of fluorescence peaks remained unchanged at 398 nm. Temperature and pH value were the two important impact factors on the fluorescence characteristic of oily waste water. If desired it needs correction and compensation on temperature and pH value. That's expected to improve the detection accuracy of oil class and content.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The current study investigated the effects of Piper longumine on radio-sensitization of human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells and underlying mechanisms. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells were cultured in vitro and those in logarithmic growth phase were selected for experiments divided into four groups: control, X-ray exposed, Piper longumine, and Piper longumine combined with X-rays. Conogenic assays were performed to determine the radio-sensitizing effects. Cell survival curves were fitted by single-hit multi-target model and then the survival fraction (SF), average lethal dose (D0), quasi-threshold dose (Dq) and sensitive enhancement ratio (SER) were calculated. Cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry (FCM).Western blot assays were employed for expression of apoptosis-related proteins (Bc1-2 and Bax) after treatment with Piper longumine and/or X-ray radiation. The intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) level was detected by FCM with a DCFH-DA probe. RESULTS: The cloning formation capacity was decreased in the group of piperlongumine plus radiation, which displayed the values of SF2, D0, Dq significantly lower than those of radiation alone group and the sensitive enhancement ratio (SER) of D0 was1.22 and 1.29, respectively. The cell apoptosis rate was increased by the combination treatment of Piper longumine and radiation. Piper longumine increased the radiation-induced intracellular levels of ROS. Compared with the control group and individual group, the combination group demonstrated significantly decreased expression of Bcl-2 with increased Bax. CONCLUSIONS: Piper longumine at a non-cytotoxic concentration can enhance the radio-sensitivity of MDA- MB-231cells, which may be related to its regulation of apoptosis-related protein expression and the increase of intracellular ROS level, thus increasing radiation-induced apoptosis.

RESUMO

One of the major obstacle for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to treat patients with beta-thalassemia is graft rejection (GR). The proportion of donor-derived cells continually declined in mixed chimerism (MC), finally leading to graft failure. Monitoring chimerism after transplant consecutively can early find unstable mixed chimerism and rejection, which provide the basis for donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI); for imminent risk of graft rejection, escalating doses of DLI is a feasible method for converting unstable MC towards stable MC or full donor chimerism. This review focuses on advancement of chimerism monitoring and DLI after HSCT for patients with ß-thalassemia major.
