RESUMO

Quest for ultrathin and highly effective anticorrosion coating films is critical for both fundamental community of materials science and industrial economics. A two-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) film is a newly developed effective anticorrosion material due to its superior impermeability, thermal stability, and chemical stability. However, research in growth and anticorrosion properties of large-area dense h-BN coating films still lies in its infancy. Here, we report on the synthesis of a large-area and continuous dense few-layer (∼4) h-BN coating film onto a metal surface by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and its anticorrosion properties both in air and seawater environments. Cu coated in h-BN, which functions as an anticorrosive coating, exhibits an impressively reduced corrosion rate (CR) in a 3.5% NaCl solution (which mimics a seawater environment) when compared to bare Cu (approximately 27 times). At 200 °C, the h-BN coating can prevent Cu foil's surface from oxidizing, although doing so will cause a significant amount of oxide particles to simultaneously form on the bare Cu surface. In the meantime, the performance of the h-BN film remains unaltered after 100 days in an atmospheric environment, demonstrating the ultrahigh stability and corrosion resistance of the as-grown h-BN film.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Our previous studies have confirmed that aspirin combined with Lipitor inhibited the development of prostate cancer (PCa), but the mechanisms need to be comprehensively expounded. The study aims to screen out the hub genes of combination therapy and to explore their association with the pathogenesis and prognosis of PCa. METHODS: Gene expressions were quantified by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq). Altered biological function, pathways of differentially expressed genes (DEGs), protein-protein interaction network, the filtering of hub genes, gene co-expression and the pathogenesis and prognosis were revealed by bioinformatics analysis. The correlation between hub gene expression and patient survival was validated by Kaplan-Meier. The effects of silent DNA replication and sister chromatid cohesion 1 (siDSCC1) combined with Lipitor and aspirin on DSCC1 expression, viability, invasion and migration of PCa cells were detected by qRT-PCR, Wound healing and transwell assays. RESULTS: 157 overlapped DEGs involved in FoxO, PI3K-Akt and p53 signaling pathways were identified. Ten hub genes (NEIL3, CDC7, DSCC1, CDC25C, PRIM1, MCM10, FBXO5, DTL, SERPINE1, EXO1) were verified to be correlated with the pathology and prognosis of PCa. DSCC1 silencing not only inhibited the viability, migration and invasion of PCa cells, but also strengthened the suppressing effects of Lipitor and aspirin alone or in combination on PCa cells. CONCLUSION: The enrichment pathways and targets of Lipitor combined with aspirin in PCa are discovered, and DSCC1 silencing can potentiate the effect of Lipitor combined with aspirin in the treatment of PCa.

RESUMO

Docetaxel is a commonly used chemotherapeutic drug for patients with late stage prostate cancer. However, serious side effect and drug resistance limit its clinical success. Brefeldin A is a 16-membered macrolide antibiotic from mangrove-derived Fungus Aspergillus sp. (9Hu), which exhibited potent cytotoxicity against human cancer cells. In the present study, we determined the effect of brefeldin A on docetaxel-induced growth inhibition and apoptosis in human prostate cancer PC-3 cells. Brefeldin A in combination with docetaxel inhibited the growth of PC-3 cells in monolayer and in three dimensional cultures. The combination also potently stimulated apoptosis in PC-3 cells as determined by propidium iodide staining and morphological assessment. Mechanistic studies showed that growth inhibition and apoptosis in PC-3 cells treated with brefeldin A and docetaxel were associated with decrease in the level of Bcl-2. The present study indicates that combined brefeldin A with docetaxel may represent a novel approach for improving the efficacy of docetaxel, and Bcl-2 may serve as a target for brefeldin A to enhance the effects of docetaxel chemotherapy.

RESUMO

In this work, we present a dual-mode assay system consisting of a nanozyme and a luminogen with the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) feature. In the assay system, the chosen nanozyme named CuCo-0 catalyzes the substrate to produce colorimetric signals, while the aggregates of H4ETTC (4,4',4″,4‴-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl) tetrakis ([1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxylic acid), a typical AIE luminogen, generate fluorescent signals. The peroxidase-like activity of the CuCo-0 nanozyme can be remarkably suppressed with sequential additions of antioxidants, leading to a dual-signal response characterized by enhanced fluorescence emission and reduced UV-vis absorbance. On this basis, a dual-mode assay capable of producing both colorimetric and fluorescent signals for the assessment of antioxidant capacity using gallic acid as a representative antioxidant was exploited. Good linearity can be obtained in the 0-60 µM range for both colorimetric analysis and fluorescent analysis, with detection limits of 1.3 µM and 0.35 µM, respectively. Furthermore, this dual-mode assay was successfully applied to real gallnut samples, yielding satisfactory results.

RESUMO

The composite or hybrid of organic and inorganic materials is one of the common ways to improve the properties of photoelectric functional materials. Perylene bisimide (PBI) derivatives, as large π-conjugated organic small molecules, are a class of photoelectric functional materials with excellent performance. However, there were few reports on PBIs in the electrochromic field due to the difficulty of film-forming caused by their generally poor solubility. Here, water-soluble PBI derivatives (PDI-COOH and PCl-COOH) were synthesized. The hybrid films (ZnO@PDI-COOH/PCl-COOH) formed by the coordination bond and π-π stacking were prepared via a simple solution immersion method. Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and X-ray diffraction as well as scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive spectrometry results further confirmed the formation of hybrid films. At the same time, electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical analyses revealed that the films have reversible redox activity and cathodic electrochromic properties, which can change from orange-red to purple. The ZnO@PDI-COOH hybrid film formed by coordination bonds exhibits fast switching times (1.7 s colored time and 2.6 s bleached time), good stability (retain 92.41% contrast after 2400 cycles), a low driving voltage (-0.6-0 V), and a high coloration efficiency (276.14 cm2/C). The corresponding electrochromic devices also have good electrochromic properties. On this basis, a large-area (100 mm × 100 mm) electrochromic display device with fine patterning was fabricated by using the hybrid film, and the device shows excellent reversible electrochromic performance. This idea of constructing organic-inorganic hybrid materials with coordination bonds provides an effective, energy-saving, and green method, which is expected to promote the large-scale and fine production of electrochromic materials.
