RESUMO

In cases of splintered intra-articular distal radius fractures, it is important to accurately restore the joint surface. Wrist joint arthroscopy makes possible accurate assessment of intra-articular damage and reposition quality. The joint gap is to be enlarged for arthroscopy, but this can distort the topographic and anatomical relationships in the wrist joint. We performed a cadaveric study of changes in the topography of vessels and nerves and the risk of their traumatization under conditions of distraction with external fixation apparatus during arthroscopic portals formation. It was experimentally demonstrated that the use of external fixator did not limit the possibility of manipulation under arthroscopic control; distraction does not alter the topographic and anatomical relationships of the soft tissue elements in the wrist joint during arthroscopy.

RESUMO

The choice of surgical strategy for the treatment of femoral neck fracture is a serious challenge to modern traumatology and orthopedics. Group I of this study was comprised of patients in whom orthopedic age was determined by our original method including assessment of the quality of life based on the SF-36 questionnaire. The somatic state of the patients was evaluated from the Charlson index and bone quality in the surgical area by densitometry. Patients of the control group were treated by the standard methods adopted in this country and abroad. It was shown that the difference between orthopedic and calendar ages results in the increase of the frequency of complications. The clinical and statistical results of the study indicate that the new method permits to reduce the number of revision interventions, decrease postoperative lethality, and improve the patients' quality of life.

RESUMO

Comparative analysis of blood loss and haemodynamic changes in endoprosthesis replacing of coxofemoral joint in patients with bilateral coxarthrosis. Endoprosthesis replacement of coxofemoral joint is the method of choice in treatment of bilateral coxarthrosis which can eliminate the pain syndrome and physical restraint of patients. Also this method gives the opportunity for fast return to the labor activity. However, this orthopedic device is related to the different complications, the most dangerous among them is the blood loss. The method of the single-stage bilateral endoprosthesis replacement of coxofemoral joint was developed and introduced in the center of traumatology and orthopedics of the Central Military Clinical Hospital n.a N.N.Burdenko. The offered method let to reduce the total intraoperative blood loss at average to 30% in comparison with the consequential surrogation of two coxofemoral joint.

RESUMO

The gram-negative bacterium Helicobacter pylori is found in human gastric mucosa. A widely distributed H. pylori infection is associated with chronic gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and malignant neoplasms. In this study proteome maps of four H. pylori clinical isolates derived from patients of two Russian regions (Moscow/Moscow Region and Novosibirsk) were obtained using 2D-electrophoresis and MALDI-TOF-mass-spectrometry. Variability of some H. pylori proteins and the level of their expression have been evaluated. These four isolates could be easily subdivided into two equal groups characterized by the close proteome profiles and the isolate from Moscow Region and the isolate from Novosibirsk constituted one group. The present study demonstrates the potential of proteome technology, which can be employed together with genome and transcriptome studies for the multiparameter typing of clinical isolates of pathogenic microorganisms.
