RESUMO

After long-term blockade of M-cholinoreactive structures by means of atropine activities of lactate-, malate- and isocytrate dehydrogenases (LDH, MDH, IDH, respectively) was decreased in smooth muscles of pigeon stomach. At the same time, in the sceletal muscles activities of LDH and cytoplasmic MDH was also decreased. Inhibition of adrenergic reactions as a result of reserpine administration into the birds caused a decrease of IDH activity in smooth muscles as well as of LDH, IDH and cytoplasmic MDH activities in sceletal muscles. Activity of cytochrome oxidase was unaltered in both muscle types.

RESUMO

Data are reported on changes of bioenergetic processes and immunoglobulin transport in gastric tissues after bilateral subdiaphragmatic transsection of the vagal nerves. It was established that the mucosa and muscle membrane of the stomach showed a reduced activity of the glycolysis enzyme. There was also abnormal transport of autogenic immunoglobulins, namely increased penetration of immunoglobulins into the connective-tissue stroma of the mucosa and the surface of epithelium into the gastric cavity. The protein transport into the endomysium of the muscle membrane was sharply reduced. It is concluded that the above mentioned changes reflect development of neurogenic dystrophy after vagotomy.

RESUMO

A study was made of the influence of ACTH and hydrocortisone on cAMP content and phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity in the rat gastrocnemius and gastric skeletal muscles. One and 3 hours after injection hydrocortisone caused a decrease in PDE activity and raised cAMP content in both the muscles. ACTH in a dose of 1 Unit/100 g did not change PDE activity but increased cAMP content in the muscles one hour after injection, with an elevation in the blood corticosteroid level being insignificant. Three hours after injection of 2 Units/100 g ACTH, PDE activity dropped and muscle cAMP content ascended, with an appreciable increase in the blood corticosteroid level. In the smooth muscles, PDE activity was inhibited by corticosteroids to a greater degree than in the skeletal muscles.
