INTRODUCTION: The COVID-19 pandemic has reached a phase where many have been infected at least once. Healthcare workers were not spared from being infected. This study aimed to determine the period prevalence of COVID-19 among the paediatric healthcare workers in Negeri Sembilan as the country transitioned into an endemic phase of the pandemic. Additionally, we investigate potential sociodemographic and occupational characteristics associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection among healthcare workers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted among the healthcare workers in the paediatric department at three public specialist hospitals in Negeri Sembilan between 15 and 21 April 2022. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire. RESULTS: Out of the 504 eligible healthcare workers, 493 participated in this study (response rate 97.8%). The overall prevalence of COVID-19 (11 March 2020-15 April 2022) among healthcare workers was 50.9%. The majority (80.1%) were infected during the Omicron wave two months before the survey. Household contacts accounted for 35.9% of infection sources. The proportion of non-doctors in the COVID-19-infected group was significantly higher compared to the non-infected group (74.1% vs 64.0%, p=0.016). The COVID-19-infected group had a higher proportion of schoolgoing children (44.6% vs 30.6%, p=0.001) and children who attended pre-school/sent to the babysitter (49.0% vs 24.4%, p<0.001). There were no significant differences between infection rates among the healthcare workers working in the tertiary hospital and the district hospitals. There were also no significant differences in the proportion of COVID-19- infected doctors and nurses when analysed by seniority. CONCLUSION: Our study provided an estimate on the prevalence of COVID-19 among paediatric healthcare workers in Negeri Sembilan and the factors associated with infection, which captures the extent and magnitude of this pandemic on the state's paediatric department. Most infections resulted from household contact, with a higher proportion of infected healthcare workers having young children.

INTRODUCTION: Our faculty used one long case (LC) and three short cases for the clinical component of the final professional examinations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the LC had to be replaced with scenario-based clinical examination (SBCE) due to the impracticability of using recently hospitalised patients. While keeping the short case component as usual, the LC had to be replaced with SBCE in 2020 for the first time at a short notice. To evaluate the positive and negative aspects of SBCE and LC to determine the feasibility of replacing LC with SBCE in future examinations. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We compared the LC scores of three previous years with those of the SBCE and studied the feedback of the three stakeholders: students, examiners, and simulated patients (SPs), regarding their experience with SBCE and the suitability of SBCE as an alternative for LC in future examinations. RESULTS: The SBCE scores were higher than those of the LC. Most of the examiners and students were not in favour of SBCE replacing LC, as such. The SPs were more positive about the proposition. The comments of the three stakeholders brought out the plus and minus points of LC and SBCE, which prompted our proposals to make SBCE more practical for future examinations. CONCLUSION: Having analysed the feedback of the stakeholders, and the positive and negative aspects of LC and SBCE, it was evident that SBCE needed improvements. We have proposed eight modifications to SBCE to make it a viable alternative for LC.

AIMS: To determine the occurrence, diversity, antibiotic resistance and biofilm formation of Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolated from marine fishes in Bangladesh. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 80 marine fishes were obtained from the local markets and examined for the presence of V. parahaemolyticus. All the isolated V. parahaemolyticus were characterized for the presence of virulence markers, thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) or thermostable direct hemolysin related hemolysin (TRH). Isolates were serotyped and further characterized by enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequence PCR (ERIC-PCR) typing to analyse the genetic diversity. Moreover, biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance patterns were also determined. About 63·75% (51/80) of the tested marine fishes were contaminated with V. parahaemolyticus. From the contaminated fishes, 71 representatives V. parahaemolyticus were isolated and none of them harboured tdh and trh virulence genes. Nine different O-groups and seven different K-types were found by serological analysis and the dominant serotype was O5:KUT. In ERIC-PCR analysis, eight clusters (A-H) were found and the most common pattern was A (46·5%). All of the isolates were resistant to ampicillin and 78·9% of isolates were resistant to streptomycin. The highest biofilm formation was found at 37°C compared to 25°C and 4°C. CONCLUSION: Diverse V. parahaemolyticus are present in marine fishes in the local market of Bangladesh with antibiotic-resistant properties and biofilm formation capacity. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: The widespread prevalence of diverse V. parahaemolyticus in marine fishes is an issue of serious concern, and it entails careful monitoring to ascertain the safety of seafood consumers.

Green computing is an important factor to ensure the eco-friendly use of computers and their resources. Electric power used in a computer converts into heat and thus, the system takes fewer watts ensuring less cooling. This lower energy consumption allows to be less costly to run as well as reduces the environmental impact of powering the computer. One of the most challenging problems for the modern green supercomputers is the reduction of current power consumptions. Consequently, regular conventional interconnection networks also show poor cost performance. On the other hand, hierarchical interconnection networks (like-3D-TTN) can be a possible solution to those issues. The main focus for this paper is the estimation of power usage at the on-chip level for 3D-TTN with the various other networks along with the analysis of static network performance. In our analysis, 3D-TTN requires about 32.48% less router power usage at the on-chip level and can also achieve near about 21% better diameter performance as well as 12% better average distance performance than the 5D-Torus network. Similarly, it also requires only about 14.43% higher router power usage; however, can achieve 23.21% better diameter performance and 26.3% better average distance than recent hierarchical interconnection network- 3D-TESH. The most attractive feature of this paper is the static hop distance parameter and per watt analysis (power-performance). According to our power-performance results, 3D-TTN can also show better result than the 3D-Mesh, 2D-Mesh, 2D-Torus and 3D-TESH network even at the lowest network level. Moreover, this paper is also featured with the static effectiveness analysis, which ensures cost and time efficiency of 3D-TTN.

Bacterial communities strongly influence the digestion, health and immune status of fish. This study investigates the microbial distribution of the anterior, middle and distal gut sections of three economically important carp species in Bangladesh, rohu, catla and mrigal (commonly known as Indian major carps), using 16S rRNA-based Illumina sequencing technology. The alpha-diversity measurement with one-way ANOVA indicated high species richness, Shannon and Simpson indices in the middle and distal gut, while the anterior gut of IMCs had the lowest diversity. At the phylum level, there was high abundance of Proteobacteria in the GITs of rohu and mrigal, whereas Fusobacteria was dominant in the anterior and middle guts of catla. At the genus level, diverse microbial communities were identified across the three GIT sections, with six indicator genera found in rohu, catla and mrigal, as revealed by linear discriminant analysis (LDA) at a 0·05 level of significance. Of the 218 genera identified, only 33 were common across the anterior, middle and distal guts of all three species. Bacterial diversity was significantly higher (P < 0·05) in mrigal, followed by catla and rohu, respectively. Alongside the common bacteria Aeromonas, Enterobacter and Serratia, the overwhelming abundance of Cetobacterium, Shewanella and Plesiomonas warrants further investigation. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: This study investigates the microbial communities of the gastrointestinal tracts (GITs) of three Indian major carp (IMC) species-rohu, catla and mrigal, obtained from a polyculture pond under the same feeding regime. Diverse microbial communities were found, with significantly different relative abundances and diversities of phyla and genera. The results provide valuable information on GIT microbial communities that may be useful for nutrition and health management in IMCs.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Physical and behavioural problems from extended usage of electronic devices are issues among primary school children. This study is aimed to investigate the prevalence of physical and behavioural complaints arising from the electronic device usage and to identify the potential factors that predicted the complaints. METHODS: This was a primary school-based cross-sectional study using multistage cluster sampling, conducted at Bau district in Sarawak, Malaysia in 40 primary schools. A questionnaire was used to collect information of usage pattern in insufficient lighting, timing and position. The physical and behavioural complaints were traced. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 22. A p-value < 0.05 with 95% CI was considered as statistically significant. RESULTS: About 52.8% of the 569 students used digital devices in a bright room, 69.8% in the day time and 54.4% in sitting position. The physical complaints were headache (32.9%), neck, shoulder and back pain (32.9%) followed by by eye strain (31.8%). Regarding behavioural problems, 25.7% of the students had loss of interest in study and outdoor activities (20.7%), skipped meals (19.0%) and arguments/disagreements with parents (17.9%). After logistic regression analysis, the lying position (OR=1.71, 95% CI: 1.096, 2.688) and darkroom lighting (OR=2.323 95% CI: 1.138, 4.744) appeared to be potential predictors of the complaint. CONCLUSION: One-quarter of the students studied experienced physical complaints, and one-fifth had behavioural problems associated with the use of electronic devices. Lying position and darkroom lighting are the potential predictors of complaints. Therefore, we suggest that the children should use electronic devices in the sitting position with adequate room lighting.

Finite element method is a powerful technique for solving a wide range of engineering problems. However, the existence of the spurious solutions in full-vectorial finite element method has been a major problem for both acoustic and optic modal analyses. For emerging photonic devices exploiting light-sound interactions in high index contrast waveguides, this problem is a major limitation. A penalty function is introduced to remove these unwanted spurious modes in acoustic waveguides, which also identifies the acoustic modes more easily. Numerically simulated results also show considerably improved vector mode profiles. The proposed penalty method has been applied for the characterization of low index contrast single mode fiber and also for high index contrast silicon nanowire to demonstrate its effectiveness.

In most drying processes, several physical, chemical and nutritional modifications take place in food products. Innovative drying techniques such as intermittent drying can enhance the quality of dehydrated products effectively and efficiently. Intermittent drying is a technique where drying conditions are changed through varying the drying air temperature, humidity, velocity, pressure, or even mode of heat input. This drying technique has been successfully applied to overcome the problems of conventional drying systems such as longer time consumption, case hardening, lower energy efficiency and poor-quality attributes. However, as the effect of intermittent drying on food quality is not yet well understood, a comprehensive study of quality change during intermittent drying is crucial. The main aim of this paper is to present a thorough review of the potential effect of intermittent drying methods on physical, chemical, nutritional, and stability characteristics of plant-based food material. It is found that application of intermittency using different drying systems has a significant effect on product quality and its stability. In addition, a comprehensive review on existing models of physio/biochemical kinetics for food drying is presented. Finally, the paper is concluded with the discussion of the current challenges and future directions of intermittent drying for producing high-quality dried food products.

AIMS: This study conducted bacterial community, virulence and antibiogram profiling inside the hindgut and skin of freshly caught hilsa fish and those sold at markets. METHODS AND RESULTS: The results of 16S rRNA-based high-throughput sequencing showed a higher number of bacterial genera in marketed fish samples than in fresh fish samples. The total operational taxonomic units, genus counts and diversity index were significantly higher (P > 0·05) in marketed fish, which also had abundant pathogenic bacterial groups. Skin samples had a lower profusion of pathogenic bacteria than gut samples. A total of 52 bacterial isolates from nine species were identified in this study, of which 25 were from a Chittagong market and 22 were from a Dhaka market, whereas only five were from fresh hilsa. The polymerase chain reaction amplification of 12 species-specific virulence genes in the 52 isolates, namely, aer, hly, chxA, toxB, rtxC, sfa, uge, norB, trx, toxA, ipaH, sigA and coa, indicated a high number of positive samples containing Vibrio cholerae, Aeromonas spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiogram profiling of these bacteria against 10 commercial antibiotics showed high-resistance patterns of the isolates against sulfamethoxazole, kanamycin, neomycin, ampicillin and tetracycline. CONCLUSION: The results reveal the spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria in hilsa fish marketed for human consumption in Bangladesh. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: This study highlights the risk of spreading environmentally and clinically pathogenic bacteria in fish sold for human consumption in Bangladesh. Such bacteria come from aquatic pollution and poor handling, storage and transportation practices that may predispose fish to major outbreaks of infectious and waterborne diseases.

The contamination levels of PCDD/PCDFs in irrigation water are the most rarely studied throughout the world. The major problem in Egypt is the lack of studies and statistics about these contaminants of POPs in irrigation water. Therefore, this study is the first comprehensive report to elucidate the estimation and sources of PCDD/PCDFs and PCBs in irrigation water from Egypt and rare for worldwide may provide a reference to future studies of POPs compounds in irrigation water of Egypt. A total of 24 irrigated water samples were collected from different irrigation canals which are adjacent to industrial areas from six Egyptian governorates (Bani Swef, El-Giza, El-Sharkeya, El-Menoufeya, El-Gharbeya, and Alexandria). The study shows that irrigation water canals were contaminated with low levels of PCDDs/PCDFs, which were 0.95 pgWHO-TEQ/l, and the total of PCDD/PCDFs and dl-PCBs were 2.06 pgWHO-TEQ/l with contamination ranging between 0.88 to 2.97 pgWHO-TEQ/l while the levels of indicator PCBs were 18.52 ng/l and ranged between 0.39 to 165.6 ng/l. The most predominant dioxins congeners were HpCDD, OCDD, HpCDF, and OCDF while for dl-PCBs were PCB105 and PCB118, and for ndl-PCBs was PCB138. The areas with recent urbanization and industrialization were more contaminated with PCBs than the unindustrialized area. Lightly to moderately chlorinated congeners dominated the PCB profiles. The major sources for these contaminants were fire bricks followed by textile industries closer to the located sampling sites. The detected pattern was found to be similar to the patterns reported in the air by other studies. Although the concentrations of the studied POPs are found to be low in irrigated water, it may be considered as a potential source of soil pollution due to their accumulation process in the agricultural land and may lead to risk on human health by consuming the agricultural products irrigated by contaminated water.

The quality monitoring of frozen marine products has become essential in the fishery industry, where efficient and effective quality assurance is becoming increasingly important. In this study, we proposed a novel method of evaluating fish quality by combining the fluorescence excitation-emission matrix (EEM) with imaging techniques to visualize the spatial-temporal changes of freshness indices such as K-value and taste component IMP content. The result showed that the distribution of K-value and IMP content could be visualized with accuracy of R2 = 0.78 and R2 = 0.83, respectively. Furthermore, this innovative approach was applied to differentiate burnt meat, which is a type of abnormal meat found in many types of fish, and it was found that burnt meat could be detected even when in a frozen condition.

For a long time, food engineers have been trying to describe the physical phenomena that occur during food processing especially drying. Physics-based theoretical modeling is an important tool for the food engineers to reduce the hurdles of experimentation. Drying of food is a multi-physics phenomenon such as coupled heat and mass transfer. Moreover, food structure is multi-scale in nature, and the microstructural features play a great role in the food processing specially in drying. Previously simple macroscopic model was used to describe the drying phenomena which can give a little description about the smaller scale. The multiscale modeling technique can handle all the phenomena that occur during drying. In this special kind of modeling approach, the single scale models from bigger to smaller scales are interconnected. With the help of multiscale modeling framework, the transport process associated with drying can be studied on a smaller scale and the resulting information can be transferred to the bigger scale. This article is devoted to discussing the state of the art multi-scale modeling, its prospect and challenges in the field of drying technology. This article has also given some directions to how to overcome the challenges for successful implementation of multi-scale modeling.

BACKGROUND: Staphylococcus aureus is responsible for large numbers of hospital-related and community-acquired infections. In this study, we investigated the presence of S. aureus and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) in 100 samples from animals (55 cattle, 36 dogs, and 9 cats) and 150 samples from hospitalized human patients. The samples were collected from healthy and diseased animals and from diseased humans and included milk, wound swab, pus, exudates, nasal swab and diabetic ulcer. Initially, S. aureus was isolated and identified by colony morphology, Gram staining, and biochemical tests (catalase and coagulase tests). The S. aureus-positive samples were examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to determine their MRSA status. RESULTS: Of the 100 animal samples, 29 were positive for S. aureus. Four samples (13.8%) from dogs were MRSA-positive, but samples from cattle and cats were MRSA-negative. Of the 150 human samples we collected, 64 were S. aureus-positive and, of these, 34 (53.1%) were MRSA-positive. Most (28%) of the MRSA samples were isolated from surgical wound swabs, followed by the pus from skin infections (11%), exudates from diabetic ulcers (6%), exudates from burns (4%), and aural swabs (3%). By contrast, a low MRSA detection rate (n = 4) was seen in the non-human isolates, where all MRSA bacteria were isolated from nasal swabs from dogs. The antimicrobials susceptibility testing results showed that S. aureus isolates with mecA genes showed resistance to penicillin (100%), oxacillin (100%), erythromycin (73.5%), ciprofloxacin (70.6%), and gentamicin (67.7%). The lowest resistance was found against ceftazidime, and no vancomycin-resistant isolates were obtained. CONCLUSIONS: We detected S. aureus and MRSA in both human and canine specimens. Isolates were found to be resistant to some of the antimicrobials available locally. MRSA carriage in humans and animals appears to be a great threat to effective antimicrobials treatment. The prudent use of antimicrobials will reduce the antimicrobial resistance. Our findings will help to find the most appropriate treatment and to reduce antimicrobial resistance in the future by implementing prudent use of antimicrobials. Further studies are required to better understand the epidemiology of MRSA human-animal inter-species transmission in Bangladesh.

OBJECTIVE: This study examined the inequality in cesarean section (CS) utilization and its socio-economic contributors. STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective two-stage stratified sample design. METHODS: Data were extracted from two rounds of the Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey conducted in 2004 and 2014. Concentration Index of CS utilization was calculated using the wealth quintile. Regression-based decomposition method was applied to assess the socio-economic contributors of inequality in CS utilization. RESULTS: The rate of CS utilization increased from 4.98% in 2004 to 24.21% in 2014. The utilization of CS was highly concentrated among the women of higher socio-economic status (SES) in both rounds of the survey. Results of the decomposition models revealed wealth quintile, higher education, higher number of antenatal visits, and being overweight or obese as the critical factors contributing to the inequalities of CS utilization. CONCLUSION: Bangladesh is now observing a rapid rise in CS utilization and women with higher SES are the main client group of this life saving procedure. There may have inadequate access for those who are relatively less advantaged, even when CS is necessary. Strong initiative from the government is necessary to ensure proper access to this service regardless of women's SES.

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to examine socio-economic disparities in mother-child pairs' self-reported and cotinine-measured secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure at home. STUDY DESIGN: This is a cross-sectional study. METHODS: This study was conducted in the Rajshahi district of Bangladesh from May to July 2017. A total of 541 mother-child pairs were interviewed for self-reported measured SHS; cotinine-measured saliva test was performed on 263 mothers and 236 children. Mother-child pairs' SHS exposure at home was the outcome of interest. RESULTS: Overall self-reported prevalence of SHS exposure at home was 49.0%. Self-reported SHS exposure among mothers (50.2%) and children (51.3%) were lower than the prevalence rate of cotinine-measured exposure for mothers (60.5%) and their children (58.9%). Maternal rich bands of wealth were found to be associated with lower likelihood of self-reported (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 0.59, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.35-0.99) and cotinine-measured SHS exposure among mothers (AOR = 0.17, 95% CI = 0.08-0.37). Maternal rich bands of wealth were also found to be associated with lower likelihood of cotinine-measured SHS exposure among children (AOR = 0.11, 95% CI = 0.07-0.26). CONCLUSIONS: Socio-economic inequalities exist in exposure to SHS at home. Interventional approaches aimed at reducing SHS at home are urgently needed at public health and healthcare service level, with special focus given to the socioeconomically disadvantaged groups.

The structural heterogeneities of fruits and vegetables intensify the complexity to comprehend the interrelated physicochemical changes that occur during drying. Shrinkage of food materials during drying is a common physical phenomenon which affects the textural quality and taste of the dried product. The shrinkage of food material depends on many factors including material characteristics, microstructure, mechanical properties, and process conditions. Understanding the effect of these influencing factors on deformation of fruits and vegetables during drying is crucial to obtain better-quality product. The majority of the previous studies regarding shrinkage are either experimental or empirical; however, such studies cannot provide a realistic understanding of the physical phenomena behind the material shrinkage. In contrast, theoretical modeling can provide better insights into the shrinkage that accompanies simultaneous heat and mass transfer during drying. However, limited studies have been conducted on the theoretical modeling of shrinkage of fruits and vegetables. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to critically review the existing theoretical shrinkage models and present a framework for a theoretical model for the shrinkage mechanism. This paper also describes the effect of different drying conditions on material shrinkage. Discussions on how the diverse characteristics of fruits and vegetables affect shrinkage propagation is presented. Moreover, a comprehensive review of formulation techniques of shrinking models and their results are also presented. Finally, the challenges in developing a physics-based shrinkage model are discussed.

Toxoplasma gondii has subpopulation structures in different geographical regions caused by less frequent sexual recombination, population sweeps, and biogeography. The majority of strains isolated in North America and Europe fall into one of three clonal lineages, referred to as types I, II, and III. So far, little is known about genetics of Toxoplasma strains in Africa. The present study aimed to determine the genotype of Toxoplasma strains obtained directly from trophoblastic/placental tissues of 29 complicated pregnant women using multilocus nested-PCR-RFLP technique depending on four independent genetic loci (5' SAG2 and 3' SAG2), SAG3, GRA6, and BTUB genes. All samples gave positive amplicons at 5'-3' SAG2 and SAG3 genes. Meanwhile, no amplification products were observed in 12 (41.37%) and 10 (34.48%) samples with GRA6 and BTUB genes, respectively. The restriction pattern revealed the presence of genotype I in all samples, except one sample, which revealed atypical genotype with unusual restriction pattern at 3' SAG2 gene. The negative amplifications in some samples could be due to presence of mutations or polymorphisms in the primer binding sites of these isolates, raising the possibility of mixed or recombinant genotypes. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time to perform genotype analysis study based on Multiplex nPCR-RFLP technique for genetic characterization of T. gondii in Egypt. Besides, it is the first time to prove that the most prevalent strain of T. gondii, responsible for congenital toxoplasmosis in Upper Egypt, is the highly virulent type I. Atypical genotype was detected as well.

Wild mouse feces can disseminate zoonotic microorganisms throughout a farm, which is a great threat to human health and can lead to economic loss through contaminated agricultural produce. To assess the microbial communities, especially fecal coliform bacteria, we used two methods. First, we isolated bacterial colonies onto the common media LB (lactose broth) agar, TSA (tryptic soy agar), and MRS (de Man, Rogosa, and Sharpe) agar, and then randomly select colonies from each plate and stocked them to the mother plate for genomic DNA isolation. Second, we analyzed bacterial colonies using the 16S rRNA gene molecular diagnostic method. Based on bacterial cultures and bacterial 16S rRNA gene markers, we detected four different bacterial species (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus xylosus, and Serratia liquefaciens) from fecal coliforms of the striped field mouse Apodemus agrarius and A. peninsulae in agricultural areas in South Korea. These results could help us to better understand the pathogen reservoirs of mice and initiate some preventive measures to mitigate the microbial risks associated with mouse fecal matter in agricultural production areas.

Reductive dissolution of iron oxyhydroxides and reduction of arsenic are often invoked as leading causes of high dissolved As levels in shallow groundwater of Bangladesh. The second of these assumptions is questioned here by comparing the behavior As and phosphate (P), a structural analogue for As (V) which also adsorbs strongly to Fe oxyhydroxides but is not subject to reduction. The first line of evidence is provided by a detailed groundwater time-series spanning two years for three wells in the 6-9 m depth range showing removal of As(III) from shallow groundwater during the monsoon without of loss of P. The data indicate a loss of ~90% of the dissolved As from groundwater in the intermediate well relative to a level of 3 µmol/L As predicted by conservative mixing between groundwater sampled from the shallower and the deeper well. In contrast, P concentrations of ~30 µmol/L in the intermediate well closely match the prediction from conservative mixing. Reduction therefore appears to inhibit the release of As to groundwater at this site relative to P instead of enhancing it. A re-analysis of existing groundwater As and P data from across the country provides a broader context for this finding and confirms that, without reduction, elevated concentrations of As would probably be even more widespread in shallow aquifers of Bangladesh. Without providing definite proof, X-ray absorption spectroscopy of sediment from the time-series site and elsewhere suggests that the loss of As from groundwater may be coupled to precipitation of As sulfide. Further study is needed to assess the implications of these observations for shallow aquifers that have been subjected to increased withdrawals for irrigation in recent decades.

Ebstein's anomaly is a rare congenital heart disorder, accounting for <1% of all cases of congenital heart disease. It is a congenital malformation of the heart that is characterized by apical displacement of the septal and posterior tricuspid valve leaflets, leading to atrialization of the right ventricle with a variable degree of malformation and displacement of the anterior leaflet. We report the case of a 25 years old female with Ebstein's anomaly which was associated with Ostium Secundum type of atrial septal defect and WPW syndrome, who presented with dyspnea, palpitations, cyanosis, clubbing and cardiomegaly.
