RESUMO

In high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images of heterostructures, it is always difficult to accurately determine the interface position and identify dislocations in a large field of view at tens to hundreds of nanometers due to the small lattice differences. However, in the heterostructure, the determination of the interface position is the key to obtain the true mismatch stress/strain field of the interface. Due to the magnifying effect of the digital moiré method on small differences, digital moiré technology was applied to determine Ge/Si heterostructure interfaces and large-area identification interface dislocations in HRTEM lattice diagrams in this study. By optimizing the frequency and angle of the reference lattice, the interface and dislocation position are clearly and intuitively displayed. How to accurately determine the position of the heterostructure interface and the dislocation of the large-area recognition interface from HRTEM images are studied through simulation experiments. The results show that when the frequency of the reference lattice and the specimen lattice are close, and the angle between them is within 10°, the position of the heterostructure interface can be accurately and intuitively determined by the naked eye according to the distortion characteristics of the moiré fringe. When the frequency of the reference lattice is 0.7 to 0.9 times of the specimen lattice, and the rotation angle is within 8°, the visually clear crossover phenomenon of the moiré fringes is used for large-area identification of interface dislocations. Using the phase measurement interface position sensitivity can reach the Å level. Using the phase-shifting digital moiré method the strain field on the dislocation core at the Ge/Si heterostructure interface and the interface stress distribution were quantitatively analyzed. Compared with the Peierls-Nabarro dislocation model and the Foreman dislocation model, Foreman's variable factor α = 4 is more suitable for describing the strain field of misfit dislocations on the Ge/Si heterostructure interface.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND Testis-specific gene antigen 10 (TSGA10) is a tumor suppressor in several types of human malignancy. However, there have been few studies that have investigated the role of TSGA10 in bladder cancer. This study aimed to investigate the expression of TSGA10 in human bladder cancer cell lines and bladder cancer tissues and its effects on patient prognosis. MATERIAL AND METHODS The expression of TSGA10 in 40 tissue samples of bladder cancer and matched normal adjacent bladder tissue, and five human bladder cancer cell lines was assessed by immunohistochemistry, Western blot, quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), and flow cytometry. The correlation between the expression level of TSGA10 and the clinicopathological features of patients with bladder cancer was analyzed and overall survival (OS) in patients with bladder cancer was determined by Kaplan-Meier curves. RESULTS Upregulation of TSGA10 expression in tissues from patients with bladder cancer was compared with normal adjacent bladder tissue and was significantly correlated with gender, metastasis, lymphovascular invasion, and tumor stage in bladder cancer. In bladder cancer cell lines, down-regulation of TSGA10 reduced cell apoptosis and increased cell migration, and resulted in the formation of an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) phenotype. Overexpression of TSGA10 resulted in an increased apoptosis rate of tumor cells, reduced cell migration, and contributed to the reversal of the EMT phenotype. CONCLUSIONS These findings support that TSGA10 deserves further study as a potential novel prognostic biomarker in bladder cancer.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect of pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) plus biofeedback electrical stimulation (BES) on stress urinary incontinence (SUI). METHODS: 110 patients with SUI admitted to our hospital in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from November 2018 to November 2019 were selected and divided into control group (n=55) and study group (n=55). The study group received PFMT plus BES while the control group received PFMT alone. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the incontinence quality of life (I-QOL) score and the international consultation on incontinence questionnaire-urinary incontinence short form (ICI-Q-SF) score in the study group were significantly better (P<0.05), and the patients had better pelvic floor muscle endurance, strength, and coordination (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: PFMT plus BES could improve the strength, endurance, and coordination of pelvic floor muscles in SUI patients. It can positively influence the improvement of the I-QOL and ICI-Q-SF scores. CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION: The name of the registry: Chinese Registry of Clinical Trials. RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The menopause is associated in females with the presence of dysglycemia, insulin resistance and with the development of endothelial dysfunction. Tibolone (TIB) is a synthetic steroid compound with selective oestrogenic and, to a lesser extent, progestogenic and androgenic properties prescribed to postmenopausal women to alleviate the symptoms of the climaterium and to prevent the development of osteoporosis. However, the impact of TIB on fasting blood sugar (FBS), insulin, Homeostatic Model Assessment-Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) index and flow-mediated dilation (FMD) in women has not been evaluated so far. Thus, to investigate this research question, we conducted the present systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS: Two independent reviewers searched the Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed/Medline and Embase databases up to 20 December 2020. The weighted mean differences (WMDs) and the 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using the DerSimonian and Laird random effects models between the TIB and control groups and included in the forest plot. RESULTS: The overall findings were generated from 12 eligible randomized controlled trials. As compared to controls, TIB administration resulted in a significant reduction of FBS (WMD: -3.06 mg/dL, 95% CI: -5.30 to -0.82, P = 0.007), and of the HOMA-IR index (WMD: -0.61, 95% CI: -1.11 to -0.11, P = 0.01). However, treatment with TIB did not lead to significant changes of the FMD (WMD: 0.78%, 95% CI: -0.20 to 1.77, P = 0.12) or of insulin levels (WMD: -0.10 mIU/L, 95% CI: -2.04 to 1.83, P = 0.91). CONCLUSION: TIB administration can decrease FBS and the HOMA-IR index in postmenopausal women. However, the use of TIB does not influence insulin levels or FMD.

RESUMO

Analytical formulas for the elements of the 2x2 cross-spectral density matrix of a kind of stochastic electromagnetic array beam propagating through the turbulent atmosphere are derived with the help of vector integration. Two types of superposition (i.e. the correlated superposition and the uncorrelated superposition) are considered. The changes in the spectral density and in the spectral degree of polarization of such an array beam generated by isotropic or anisotropic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model sources on propagation are determined by the use of the analytical formulas. It is shown by numerical calculations that for the array beam composed by isotropic Gaussian-Schell model sources, the spectral degree of polarization in the sufficiently far field returns to the value of the array source; for the array beam composed by anisotropic sources, the spectral degree of polarization in the far field approaches a fixed value that is different from the source.

RESUMO

Transverse frequency conversion in the sub-bandgap spectral region is investigated in semiconductor nanowires and nanoribbons using CW lasers with a pump power less than 1 mW. It is found that the properties of the emissions are strongly dependent on the cross-sectional geometries and the surrounding media of nano-waveguides. The polarization is higher in nano-waveguides under single-mode conditions, and the spatial distribution is more tunable in nano-waveguides with higher-order modes involved. Compared with the birefringent approach, transverse frequency conversion shows lower divergence angles, higher polarization, and more tunable spatial distribution.

RESUMO

Generalized propagation formulas for the elements of the cross-spectral density matrix of stochastic electromagnetic beams on inverse propagation through an axially symmetrical or nonsymmetrical optical system are derived with the help of Fourier transform and inverse Fourier transform. As an example, we apply the formula to the inverse source problem of stochastic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beams.

RESUMO

On the basis of the generalized diffraction integral formula for an ABCD optical system in the spatial domain, a propagation law for the generalized Stokes parameters of a stochastic electromagnetic beam passing through an ABCD optical system is obtained. We describe the Stokes parameters of the source as linear combinations of the elements of the cross-spectral density matrix, and study the changes in the spectral degree of polarization and in the state of the polarization ellipse of a stochastic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beam propagating through a gradient-index fiber with the help of generalized Stokes parameters and the cross-spectral density matrix. The medium has significant effect on the change of the spectral degree of polarization. However, when the correlation coefficients of the source satisfy the relation delta(xx)=delta(yy)=delta(xy)=delta(yx), the medium does not influence the spectral degree of polarization.

RESUMO

On the basis of the generalized diffraction integral formula for misaligned optical systems in the spatial domain, an analytical propagation expression for the elements of the cross-spectral density matrix of a random electromagnetic beam passing through a misaligned optical system in turbulent atmosphere is derived. Some analyses are illustrated by numerical examples relating to changes in the state of polarization of an electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model beam propagating through such an optical system. It is shown that the misalignment has a significant influence on the intensity profile and the state of polarization of the beam, but the influence becomes smaller for the beam propagating in strong turbulent atmosphere. The method in this paper can be applied for sources that are either isotropic or anisotropic. It is shown that the isotropic sources and the anisotropic sources have different polarization properties on beam propagation.
