RESUMO

Operations were performed on 23 patients with bilateral cleft lips by the method of Mirault--Limberg--Kardozo. Five patients had bilateral symmetrical total cleft lips, eight patients had bilateral nonsymmetrical total cleft lips, ten patients had bilateral incomplete cleft lips. One-stage operations were used in 17 patients, two-stage operations--in six patients. The method consists in the angle-shaped refreshing and uniting the margins of the cleft which provides the possibility to restore the correct form of the Cupid arch. The method is most expedient in children with bilateral non-symmetrical cleft lips with the well-developed median portion. Long-term results were studied in 19 children. Good and excellent results were noted in 12 patients, satisfactory--in 7 patients.

RESUMO

Results of chiloplasty by the method of Hagedorn-Barsky modified and improved by the authors for the correction of an associated deformity of the nose used in 89 children and followed during the period of from 1 year to 15 years and longer are described. Good and excellent results were obtained in 55 children, satisfactory--in 34 patients.

RESUMO

A comparative clinico-roentgenological assessment of results of transplantation of auto- and allogenic demineralized transplants in reconstructive operations on the mandible was made in 58 children with the syndrome of the first and second branchial arches aged from 1 to 14 years. It was found that the substitution of the transplants by a new bone tissue was developing similarly. Allogenic bone transplants have a number of advantages over autotransplants: a simpler treatment and modelling the absence of an additional trauma to the child and a shorter duration of the operation.

RESUMO

Six months is believed to be optimal age for primary chiloplasty; the most effective method is a combined chiloplasty after Mirault---Limberg---Obukhova---Anamenski resulting in primary union in 99% of cases. In cleft palate the operation is possible at the age of 6--7 years. The article describes specific features of the surgical treatment of clefts involving part of the hard palate, complete uni- and bilateral cleft palate and alveolar processes of maxilla.
