O discurso do sujeito coletivo: o que dizem os agentes comunitários de saúde sobre o câncer bucal na atenção básica? / The collective subject discourse: what do community health workers say about oral cancer in primary care?
The objective of this research is to present the Collective Subject Discourse of 30 community health workers (CHW) of a city in northeast Brazil and provide a better view or social opinion about what oral cancer represents in the work context of these professionals. The data were collected in May of 2018, through recorded interviews and analyzed according to the methodology of the Collective Subject Discourse, arranged in 4 thematic axes knowledge about oral cancer; multidisciplinary teamwork; health promotion and disease prevention; and diagnosis and resolubility of care. It was observed in speeches that 66.6% of professionals did not know tobacco as the main etiological factor of oral cancer, however, most knew the harmful effects of their substances. In addition, CHWs recognize that in the family health strategy, all professionals must work in a coordinated and vigilantes manner to the health problems of the community and that the public system bureaucracy has presented itself as an obstacle to the treatment of cancerpatients.
