Espiritualidade, religiosidade e religião como aliadas das políticas de controle do tabagismo / Spirituality, religiosity, religion and public health policies in relation to smoking
Several public policies are aimed at smoking. To this end, traditional health actions based on scientific evidence are often taken. Since the spiritual and religious aspects have also been identified as tools for the prevention and treatment of health problems, this study sought to identify the involvement of spirituality, religion and religiosity in the prevention and treatment of smoking, connecting them with smoking policies, especially those closely related to Primary Health Care. Through a literaturereview, many papers analyzed showed benefits of spirituality, religiosity and religion in combating smoking, collaborating with policies that have this goal. Under this view, better results in smoking-related healthindicators could be attributed to the involvement of health policies with the religious and spiritual s. There then arises the prospect of a partnership between the political and religious affiliations, which deserve to be thought of in an intersectoral manner, and further investigated.
