O perfil dos pacientes estomizados com diagnóstico primário de câncer de reto em acompanhamento em programa de reabilitação / The profile of the ostomy patients with a primary diagnosis of rectal cancer in follow-up by a rehabilitation program
This is an observational, transversal, study that had as object the profile of patients with stoma, diagnosed with rectal cancer, in follow up in a public institute, reference in medium and high complexity of rehabilitation, in Rio de Janeiro, and aimed to identify the profile of ostomy assisted clients in the program and discuss the impact of this information in the management actions. Data were collected from the computerized database of an Ostomy Program, and evaluated the patients with primary diagnosis of rectal cancer in active program group. They were defined according to gender, age, length of the stoma and attracting patients. Results show that the female is the highest prevalence in the sample studied, as well as the age group above 60 years, with predominance of permanent colostomy. It is suggested coordination with the Program of Women's and Eldey´s Health, a review of institutional protocols and interface with the Management of Cancer and other major cancer centers for multicenter studies and promotion of prevention activities of cancer
