ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. Ocular manifestations, which occur in 10% to 20% of cases of psoriasis, are usually bilateral and often present during an exacerbation of the psoriasis. Serious corneal involvement is rare but can be devastating. CASE REPORT Two cases of sterile corneal infiltrates secondary to an exacerbation of psoriasis are presented. Treatment involved the use of 0.02% topical tacrolimus ointment, which resulted in resolution of the symptoms and infiltrates. DISCUSSION ANDCONCLUSION:
Topical tacrolimus may be considered as an alternative treatment option to corticosteroids in sterile corneal infiltrates.
