ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Lung involvement is rare in peripheral T cell lymphoma, and there is a lack of sufficient clinical study. The authors describe a rare case of lung involvement in a 40-year-old male patient with peripheral T cell lymphoma.METHODS:
Hematological investigation, bone marrow aspirate, and lung biopsy were performed.RESULTS:
The patient received 4 courses of CHOP regimen chemotherapy. He achieved partial response (PR) at the 2nd course, but showed disease progressive (PD) at the 4th course. Then he received 2 courses of GDP regimen chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the patient died of tumor overload with hyper-lactacidemia 6 months after the onset of the disease.CONCLUSIONS:
Lung biopsy is important to confirm a diagnosis of primary pulmonary lymphoma. Lung involvement in peripheral T cell lymphoma as a prognostic factor needs further studies.
