ABSTRACT

PURPOSE:

This retrospective cross-sectional, observational study aims to determine the correlation between demographic variables and nonsyndromic craniosynostosis.

METHODS:

A cross-sectional study was carried out. The inclusion criteria were nonsyndromic craniosynostosis and the exclusion criteria were patients who did not have complete records.

RESULTS:

The sample included 49 patients and mainly women. Patients with more than 4 days in the intensive care unit were related with more complications. Intracranial Hypertension was seen predominantly in patients between 6 and 8 months P =0007.

CONCLUSION:

Some variables can modificate complications risk but future studies are needed to further investigate the influence of such variables on craniofacial care.
