Joint WHO Regional Office for Europe and International Association of National Public Health Institutes technical seminar: establishing national public health institutes through mergers – where are we now? Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, 9–10 April 2019

The WHO Regional Office for Europe and the International Association of National Public Health Institutes held a joint meeting focusing on further developing national public health institutes through a merger process. The aims of the workshop were to follow up on the current status of establishing the national public health institutes in Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine and to provide cased-based strategies in strengthening the capacity of merged national public health institutes. This interactive meeting also focused around developing the public health workforce in the national public health institutes and discussing proposed tools national public health institutes can use.
