RESUMEN

El propósito fundamental de las siguientes líneas es determinar la importancia y relevancia contemporánea acerca de la idea de libertad negativa y su conexión con las ideas de virtud cívica y servicio público en el texto del El Príncipe de Nicolás Maquiavelo (2000), tomando como perspectiva de contexto, la discusión contemporánea sobre la idea de libertad negativa dentro de los parámetros de la tradición del pensamiento político denominado contractualista, originada por la obra Leviatán de Thomas Hobbes (1980), a mediados del siglo XVII, y desarrollada durante el siglo XX por una de las corrientes de filosofía analítica y política de lingua inglesa, la de Isaías Berlín (1998). Esta corriente de filosofía político analítica caracterizó el término libertad negativa como la ausencia de obstáculo o coacción de los agentes individuales en su actuar dentro una sociedad política a las cuales ellos pertenecen. Precisamente, con esa ausencia de obstáculo y coacción, es el punto que consideramos extremadamente crítico en este escrito y que quisiéramos exponer para establecer la importancia moderna en el surgimiento de un estado de una relación representativa adecuada entre los actores que portan esa libertad negativa respecto a la virtud cívica y el servicio público, para así establecer comunidad política democrática, tal como demanera especial trató, el teórico florentino del Renacimiento en el capítulo nueve de su famosa obra.(AU)

ABSTRACT

The fundamental purpose of the following lines is to determine the contemporary relevance about the idea of negative freedom and its connection with the ideas of civic virtue and public service from the text “The prince” by Nicolas Maquiavelo (2000), taking as a context perspective, the contemporary discussion about the idea of negative freedom inside the parameters of traditional political thought named contractualist, stated for the first time in “Leviatan” by Thomas Hobbes (1980) , in the middle of the XVII century and developed in the XX century by one of the English streams of the analytic and political philosophy, the one from Isaias Berlin (1998). This stream of analytic and political philosophy determined the term negative freedom as the absences of an obstacle or consistence between the individual agents in their acting inside a political society that they belong. Precisely, that absence of obstacles and consistency is the point that we consider extremely critic in this stress to expose in order to establish the modern relevance in the out coming of a state of an adequate representative relation between the actors that carry that negative freedom in function of the civic virtue and public service, so that way a democratic political community can be established, just like, in a special way, the theoretic from the renaissance in the chapter nine of his famous work stated.(AU)
