RESUMO

All-solid-state sulfide-based Li metal batteries are promising candidates for energy storage systems. However, thorny issues associated with undesired reactions and contact failure at the anode interface hinder their commercialization. Herein, an indium foil was endowed with a formed interlayer whose surface film is enriched with LiF and LiIn phases via a feasible prelithiation route. The lithiated alloy of the interlayer can regulate Li+ flux and charge distribution as a Li reservoir, benefiting uniform Li deposition. Meanwhile, it can suppress the reductive decomposition of the Li6PS5Cl electrolyte and maintain sufficient solid-solid contact. In situ impedance spectra reveal that constant interface impedance and fast charge transfer are realized by the interlayer. Further, long-term Li stripping/plating over 2000 h at 2.55 mA cm-2 is demonstrated by this anode. All-solid-state cells employing a LiCoO2 cathode and the Pre In anode can work for over 700 cycles with a capacity retention of 96.15% at 0.5 C.

Objective: To investigate the clinical impact of dietary intervention in combination with bismuth potassium citrate in the management of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) caused by Helicobacter pylori. Methods: From April 2019 to October 2022, 160 patients with newly identified Helicobacter pylori-related CAG were treated at our facility. They were split into two groups at random: the bismuth potassium citrate medication group (n = 80) and the diet intervention + bismuth potassium citrate experimental groups (n = 80). The bismuth potassium citrate treatment group was given bismuth potassium citrate capsule treatment only, and the diet intervention + bismuth potassium citrate treatment group was given diet intervention based on bismuth potassium citrate capsule. The diet intervention score, symptom score, and pathological score of the two groups were observed at baseline and after treatment, and the relationship between dietary intervention and symptoms and pathology of Helicobacter pylori-related CAG was analyzed. Results: During the baseline period, there was no discernible difference in the diet intervention score, symptom score, or pathology score between the two groups (P > .05); after the diet intervention combination treatment, the diet intervention score, diet intervention + bismuth potassium citrate experimental groups symptom score, and pathology score were considerably lower than those in the bismuth potassium citrate treated group (P < .05). Conclusions: Dietary intervention combined with bismuth potassium citrate exhibited more effective treatment than bismuth potassium citrate-only treatment in Helicobacter pylori-related CAG, which hinted us proper diet has a positive impact on improving the therapeutic efficacy of bismuth potassium citrate.

BACKGROUND: Long non-coding RNAs have been acknowledged as the crucial regulators in the progression of human cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). Small nucleolar RNA host gene 10 (SNHG10) has been identified as an oncogene in several cancer types. Nonetheless, it is unclear whether SNHG10 exerts functions in GC cells. AIMS: The aims of the current study were to explore the function and underlying mechanism of SNHG10 in GC. METHODS: The expression levels of SNHG10, miR-495-3p and catenin beta 1 (CTNNB1) were detected by RT-qPCR. Loss-of-function assays, including CCK-8, colony formation assay, flow cytometry analysis and transwell assays, were conducted to verify the effect of SHNG10 on the proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion of GC cells. Mechanism experiments were performed to identify the downstream molecular mechanism of SNHG10. RESULTS: SNHG10 was expressed at a high level in GC cells. Knockdown of SNHG10 inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion of GC cells. Silencing of SNHG10 led to the downregulation of core factors of WNT signaling pathway. Knockdown of SNHG10 could decline the expression of CTNNB1 through sequestering miR-495-3p. CONCLUSIONS: SNHG10 promotes the procession of GC through targeting miR-495-3p/CTNNB1 and activating WNT signaling pathway.

The porous metallic iron/carbon (Fe0/C) ceramsites, with virtues of low cost and 'green' fabrication, were prepared by direct reduction roasting of magnetite, coal, and paper mill sludge. The X-ray diffraction data revealed that Fe0 was generated in situ by reducing the magnetite at 1,200 °C. Scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy indicated that Fe0 particles, with a size of <10 µm, were highly dispersed on carbon particles to form an integrated anode (Fe0) and cathode (C) structure of microelectrolysis filters. The effects of initial solution pH and Fe/C mass ratio on Cu2+ removal were investigated. The extent of Cu2+ removal increased from 93.53% to 99.81% as initial pH rose from 2.5 to 7.0. The residual Cu2+ concentration was as low as <0.2 mg/L. The highest extent of Cu2+ removal was achieved at Fe/C mass ratio of 6.8:1. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model fitted well for Cu2+ removal by the ceramsite, revealing the chemisorption as a limiting step. The Cu2+ adsorption equilibrium data were well described by the Langmuir isotherm, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 546.45 mg/g at initial pH 3.0.

1T-TaS2 has attracted much attention recently due to its abundant charge density wave phases. In this work, high-quality two-dimensional 1T-TaS2 crystals were successfully synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition method with controllable layer numbers, confirmed by the structural characterization. Based on the as-grown samples, their thickness-dependency nearly commensurate charge density wave/commensurate charge density wave phase transitions was revealed by the combination of the temperature-dependent resistance measurements and Raman spectra. The phase transition temperature increased with increasing thickness, but no apparent phase transition was found on the 2~3 nm thick crystals from temperature-dependent Raman spectra. The transition hysteresis loops due to temperature-dependent resistance changes of 1T-TaS2 can be used for memory devices and oscillators, making 1T-TaS2 a promising material for various electronic applications.

Nonmotor symptoms in patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA) have received an increasing amount of attention in recent years, but no research on MSA patients' cognitive characteristics has been conducted in China. To evaluate the cognitive function of MSA patients in China. Using a case-control study design, 256 MSA patients and 64 controls were evaluated by the Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) scale to characterize their cognitive function. Like the controls, 60.5% of the patients with MSA had cognitive impairment, but the characteristics of cognitive impairment between the two groups were different. The cognitive impairment in MSA patients was prominent in the cognitive domains of visuospatial/executive functions, naming, attention, and orientation; particularly, the visuospatial/executive functions were the most significantly impaired, while impairment in language function was mainly seen in the controls. Besides, impairments in visuospatial/executive functions, attention, language, and orientation were more prominent in MSA-P (MSA with predominant Parkinsonism) patients than in MSA-C (MSA with predominant cerebellar ataxia). The cognitive impairments were more severe in patients with probable MSA than in patients with possible MSA. In addition, the results showed that the level of cognitive function was negatively correlated with the severity of MSA. This study, which characterized the cognitive function of MSA patients with the largest sample size known so far in China, found that patients with MSA do have cognitive impairment and display specific characteristics. Therefore, the cognitive impairment of MSA should be paid more attention.The study has been registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR) (Registration No: ChiCTR1900022462).

Gastric cancer (GC) is a common malignancy worldwide and its pathogenesis remains unclear. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) serve an important function in cancer development, therefore identification of functional lncRNAs in GC is required. The results of the present study demonstrate that an lncRNA, LINC00857, was increased in GC tissues compared with adjacent non-tumor tissues. Overexpression of LINC00857 was positively associated with poor survival rate, as well as with the tumor size of patients with GC. LINC00857 knockdown induced by specific small interfering RNAs significantly inhibited GC cell proliferation in vitro. Genome-wide analysis revealed that LINC00857 knockdown deregulated the cell cycle. Western blot analysis confirmed that LINC00857 knockdown decreased protein expression of cyclin D1 and cyclin E1 in GC cells. Taken together, the results indicated that LINC00857 knockdown suppressed GC cell proliferation through deregulating the cell cycle, resulting in the downregulation of cyclin D1 and cyclin E1. Therefore, LINC00857 expression may be an independent biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of GC.

AIM: To comparatively investigate the cellular and molecular characteristics of low-grade slightly elevated adenomas and polypoid adenomas. METHODS: Colorectal tumors were collected from 24 patients with slightly elevated adenomas and 23 patients with polypoid adenomas. Five commonly mutated genes (APC, BRAF, KRAS, NRAS, and PIK3CA) were selected for mutational analysis. Paraffin-embedded tumor sections were used to calculate the apoptotic index (AI) and Ki-67 labeling index (KLI). Two pure colorectal epithelial cell lines were created by pooling the slightly elevated and polypoid tumors. Western blots, luciferase assays for ß-catenin-T-cell factor protein/ß-catenin-lymphoid enhancer factor (ß-catenin-TCF/LEF)-driven transcriptional activity, and caspase activity assays were conducted on the two cell lines. RESULTS: Slightly elevated lesions showed a significantly lower APC mutational frequency and a significantly higher KRAS mutational frequency (both P < 0.05). Slightly elevated lesions showed a significantly lower AI (P < 0.05). ß-catenin and ß-catenin-TCF/LEF-driven transcriptional activity was significantly upregulated in slightly elevated lesions (both P < 0.05). In slightly elevated lesions, c-Myc was significantly downregulated, while cyclin D1 was significantly upregulated (both P < 0.05). ß-catenin-TCF/LEF-driven transcriptional activity was negatively correlated with c-Myc (ρ = -0.78). Slightly elevated lesions displayed significant Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL upregulation (both P < 0.05) along with significant decreases in caspase-9 and caspase-3 activity (both P < 0.05). c-Myc was negatively correlated with Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL (ρ = -0.74 and -0.78, respectively). CONCLUSION: The lower apoptotic activity of low-grade slightly elevated adenomas can be partly attributed to upregulated ß-catenin pathway activity and downregulated c-Myc expression.
