RESUMEN

The risk of treatment-related toxicities with programmed cell death 1 and its ligand (PD-1/PD-L1) inhibitors in patients with lung cancer is unclear and inconclusive. PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched without language restrictions from inception to May 31, 2024 to identify Phase 3 randomized controlled trials of lung cancer comparing PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors versus placebo/best supportive care (alone or in combination with nontargeted chemotherapy) that had available data regarding treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) or incidence and sample size. Random-effect models were employed to study the pooled relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Finally, 36 trials, involving 19,693 participants, fulfilled the inclusion criteria. PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors significantly augmented the likelihood of developing all-grade (RR, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.01-1.04, p < .01) and grade ≥3 TRAEs (RR, 1.16; 95% CI, 1.10 to 1.23, p < .01). PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors substantially augmented the odds of developing treatment-related serious adverse events (SAEs) (RR, 1.48; 95% CI, 1.27-1.71, p < .01) and fatal adverse events (FAEs) (RR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.11-1.82, p < .01). Subgroup analyses indicated that the RR of SAEs and FAEs were generally consistent, regardless of treatment type, tumor type, treatment setting, PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors type and study design. The most common causes of FAEs were respiratory failure/insufficiency (33.3%), cardiac events (16.1%), and hematological disorders (10.1%). We demonstrated that PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors were significantly correlated with higher possibility of developing treatment-related toxicities, especially SAEs and FAEs, compared with placebo/best supportive care controls.

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has emerged as a pivotal tool for exploring cellular landscapes across diverse species and tissues. Precise annotation of cell types is essential for understanding these landscapes, relying heavily on empirical knowledge and curated cell marker databases. In this study, we introduce MarkerGeneBERT, a natural language processing (NLP) system designed to extract critical information from the literature regarding species, tissues, cell types, and cell marker genes in the context of single-cell sequencing studies. Leveraging MarkerGeneBERT, we systematically parsed full-text articles from 3702 single-cell sequencing-related studies, yielding a comprehensive collection of 7901 cell markers representing 1606 cell types across 425 human tissues/subtissues, and 8223 cell markers representing 1674 cell types across 482 mouse tissues/subtissues. Comparative analysis against manually curated databases demonstrated that our approach achieved 76% completeness and 75% accuracy, while also unveiling 89 cell types and 183 marker genes absent from existing databases. Furthermore, we successfully applied the compiled brain tissue marker gene list from MarkerGeneBERT to annotate scRNA-seq data, yielding results consistent with original studies. Conclusions: Our findings underscore the efficacy of NLP-based methods in expediting and augmenting the annotation and interpretation of scRNA-seq data, providing a systematic demonstration of the transformative potential of this approach. Selective and prior extraction of 99TcO4- ahead of uranium and plutonium separation is a beneficial strategy for the modern nuclear fuel cycle. Herein, a novel DGA-grafting pyridine ligand BisDODGA-DAPy (L1) was tailored for the efficient separation of TcO4- from simulated spent nuclear fuel based on the selectivity of pyridine and synergistic effect of diglycolamide (DGA) group. Compared to the ligands BisDOSCA-DAPy (L2) and BisDODGA-MPDA (L3) with similar structure, BisDODGA-DAPy (L1) demonstrated the better separation performance including good extraction efficiency, reusability, and high loading capacity for TcO4- under high acidic medium. The interactions of the ligands with Tc(VII)/Re(VII) have been investigated in detail using FT-IR, 1H NMR titration, UV-Vis spectrophotometric titration, ESI-HRMS and DFT simulations. The extraction mechanism affected by the protonation of ligand was elucidated under different acidity. BisDODGA-DAPy (L1) demonstrated the ultra-selective extraction ability for TcO4- from simulated spent nuclear fuel. The maximum SFTc/U and SFTc/Pu values were up to 1.29 × 104 and 5.08 × 103, respectively. In the presence of 9 × 104-fold excess of NO3-, the extraction of TcO4- was almost unaffected. Moreover, the good radiolytic stability further highlights the promising potential of this ligand for 99Tc separation. DFT calculation revealed the dominant role of DAPy and DODGA in TcO4- extraction, providing the theoretical evidence for BisDODGA-DAPy (L1) to selectively bind TcO4- over NO3-.

The structure and properties of graphene/alumina composites are affected by the interface interaction. To demonstrate the influence of interface interaction on the structure of composite materials, a composite without graphene/matrix alumina interface was designed and prepared. We introduced a nano transition layer into the composite by pre-fabricating nano alumina coating on the surface of graphene, thus regulating the influence of interface interaction on the structure of the composite. According to the analysis of laser micro Raman spectroscopy, the structure of graphene was not seriously damaged during the modification process, and graphene was subjected to tensile or compressive stress along the 2D plane. The fracture behavior of the modified graphene/alumina composites is similar to that of pure alumina, but significantly different from that of pure graphene/alumina composites. The elastic modulus and hardness of composite material G/A/A are higher, while its microstructure has better density and uniformity. In situ HRSEM observation showed that there was a transition layer of alumina in the modified graphene/alumina composite. The transition layer blocks or buffers the interfacial stress interaction, therefore, the composite material exhibits a fracture behavior similar to that of pure alumina at this time. This work demonstrates that interface interactions have a significant impact on the structure and fracture behavior of graphene/alumina composites.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the staining quality between rapid hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and routine H&E staining of frozen breast tissue sections. METHODS: In this cross-sectional observational study, 120 frozen breast tissue sections were randomly assigned to rapid or routine H&E staining (n = 60 per group). Rapid H&E staining used a 7:1 mixture of modified Gill's hematoxylin and alcohol-soluble 1% eosin Y. The staining quality of each section was evaluated and scored. A score of >7 was considered excellent, a score of 6 to 7 good, and a score of ≤5 poor. RESULTS: The staining time for rapid staining was approximately 3 minutes, whereas that of routine staining was approximately 12 minutes. There were no significant differences in the staining quality scores or proportions of sections in each grade between the two staining methods. The proportions of sections that were classified as excellent or good were 96.7% and 98.3% for rapid and routine staining, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: In frozen breast tissue sections, rapid H&E staining may provide staining quality that is comparable to that of routine staining, while markedly reducing the staining time.

High-altitude hypoxia acclimatization requires whole-body physiological regulation in highland immigrants, but the underlying genetic mechanism has not been clarified. Here we use sheep as an animal model for low-to-high altitude translocation. We generate multi-omics data including whole-genome sequences, time-resolved bulk RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq and single-cell RNA-Seq from multiple tissues as well as phenotypic data from 20 bio-indicators. We characterize transcriptional changes of all genes in each tissue, and examine multi-tissue temporal dynamics and transcriptional interactions among genes. Particularly, we identify critical functional genes regulating the short response to hypoxia in each tissue (e.g., PARG in the cerebellum and HMOX1 in the colon). We further identify TAD-constrained cis-regulatory elements, which suppress the transcriptional activity of most genes under hypoxia. Phenotypic and transcriptional evidence indicate that antenatal hypoxia could improve hypoxia tolerance in offspring. Furthermore, we provide time-series expression data of candidate genes associated with human mountain sickness (e.g., BMPR2) and high-altitude adaptation (e.g., HIF1A). Our study provides valuable resources and insights for future hypoxia-related studies in mammals.

Deqi is an important prerequisite for acupuncture to achieve optimal efficacy. Chinese medicine has long been concerned with the relationship between Deqi and the clinical efficacy of acupuncture. However, the underlying mechanisms of Deqi are complex and there is a lack of systematic summaries of objective quantitative studies of Deqi. Acupuncture Deqi can achieve the purpose of treating diseases by regulating the interaction of local and neighboring acupoints, brain centers, and target organs. At local and neighboring acupoints, Deqi can change their tissue structure, temperature, blood perfusion, energy metabolism, and electrophysiological indicators. At the central brain level, Deqi can activate the brain regions of the thalamus, parahippocampal gyrus, postcentral gyrus, insular, middle temporal gyrus, cingulate gyrus, etc. It also has extensive effects on the limbic-paralimbic-neocortical-network and default mode network. The brain mechanisms of Deqi vary depending on the acupuncture techniques and points chosen. In addition, Deqi 's mechanism of action involves correcting abnormalities in target organs. The mechanisms of acupuncture Deqi are multi-targeted and multi-layered. The biological mechanisms of Deqi are closely related to brain centers. This study will help to explore the mechanism of Deqi from a local-central-target-organ perspective and provide information for future clinical decision-making.

BACKGROUND: Quantitative evidence on the impact of meteorological factors on influenza transmissibility across different virus types/subtypes is scarce, and no previous studies have reported the effect of hourly temperature variability (HTV) on influenza transmissibility. Herein, we explored the associations between meteorological factors and influenza transmissibility according to the influenza type and subtype in Guangzhou, a subtropical city in China. METHODS: We collected influenza surveillance and meteorological data of Guangzhou between October 2010 and December 2019. Influenza transmissibility was measured using the instantaneous effective reproductive number (Rt). A gamma regression with a log link combined with a distributed lag non-linear model was used to assess the associations of daily meteorological factors with Rt by influenza types/subtypes. RESULTS: The exposure-response relationship between ambient temperature and Rt was non-linear, with elevated transmissibility at low and high temperatures. Influenza transmissibility increased as HTV increased when HTV < around 4.5 °C. A non-linear association was observed between absolute humidity and Rt, with increased transmissibility at low absolute humidity and at around 19 g/m3. Relative humidity had a U-shaped association with influenza transmissibility. The associations between meteorological factors and influenza transmissibility varied according to the influenza type and subtype: elevated transmissibility was observed at high ambient temperatures for influenza A(H3N2), but not for influenza A(H1N1)pdm09; transmissibility of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 increased as HTV increased when HTV < around 4.5 °C, but the transmissibility decreased with HTV when HTV < 2.5 °C and 3.0 °C for influenza A(H3N2) and B, respectively; positive association of Rt with absolute humidity was witnessed for influenza A(H3N2) even when absolute humidity was larger than 19 g/m3, which was different from that for influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and influenza B. CONCLUSIONS: Temperature variability has an impact on influenza transmissibility. Ambient temperature, temperature variability, and humidity influence the transmissibility of different influenza types/subtypes discrepantly. Our findings have important implications for improving preparedness for influenza epidemics, especially under climate change conditions.

(1) Background: The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of genetic diversity and drug resistance mutations among people living with HIV (PLWH) attending clinics in Beijing. (2) Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on PLWH admitted to the Fifth Medical Center of People's Liberation Army (PLA) General Hospital between 1 March 2013 and 31 July 2020. The participants were analyzed for pretreatment drug resistance (PDR) and acquired drug resistance (ADR). Nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was utilized to amplify the pol gene from plasma RNA samples obtained from the participants. Genotypic and HIV drug resistance were determined using the Stanford University HIV Drug Resistance Database. Univariate and multifactorial logistic analyses were used to assess the risk factors for PDR. (3) Results: The overall prevalence rates of PDR and ADR were 12.9% and 27.8%, respectively. Individuals treated with non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs) exhibited the highest prevalence of mutations. Specific mutation sites, such as V179D for NNRTIs and M184V and K65R for nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), were identified as prevalent mutations. Individuals treated with efavirenz (EFV) and nevirapine (NVP) were found to be susceptible to developing resistance. The multifactorial regression analyses indicated that the factors of circulating recombination form (CRF) genotype CRF07-BC and a high viral load were associated with an increased risk of PDR. CRF01-AE and CRF07-BC were the most prevalent HIV genotypes in our study. (4) Conclusions: The distribution of HIV genotypes in Beijing is complex. There is a need for baseline screening for HIV drug resistance among ART-naive individuals, as well as timely testing for drug resistance among ART-experienced individuals.

Burn injuries result in localised tissue damage and precipitate systemic responses; routine clinical treatments, which typically include metabolic nutritional support and anti-infection therapies, do not yield optimal outcomes. Therefore, we aimed to systematically evaluate the effects of ulinastatin on wound infection and healing in patients with burns to provide reliable evidence-based recommendations for burn treatment. An electronic search of the Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Wanfang, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases, supplemented by manual searches, was conducted from database inception to October 2023 to collect randomised controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the efficacy of ulinastatin for the treatment of burns. Two researchers screened all retrieved articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria; the included studies were evaluated for quality, and the relevant data were extracted. Stata 17.0 software was employed for data analysis. Overall, 8 RCTs with 803 patients were included, with 404 and 399 in the ulinastatin and conventional treatment groups, respectively. The analysis revealed that wound infections (odds ratio [OR] = 0.08, 95% CI: 0.02-0.35, p = 0.001) and complications (OR = 0.21, 95% CI: 0.10-0.42, p < 0.001) were significantly lower, and wound healing time (standardised mean differences [SMD] = -1.31, 95% CI: -2.05 to -0.57, p = 0.001) was significantly shorter, in the ulinastatin groups than in the control group. This meta-analysis revealed that ulinastatin can effectively reduce the incidence of wound infections and complications and significantly shorten the duration of wound healing in patients with burns, thereby promoting early recovery in these patients.

Adding hydrophilic ligands into aqueous solutions for the selective binding of actinides(III) is acknowledged as an advanced strategy in Ln(III)/An(III) separation. In view of the recycling and radioactive waste disposal of the minor actinide, there remains an urgent need to design and develop the appropriate ligand for selective separation of An(III) from Ln(III). Herein, four novel hydrophilic ligands with hard-soft hybrid donors, derived from the pyridine and phenanthroline skeletons, were designed and synthesized as masking agents for selective complexation of An(III) in the aqueous phase. The known N,N,N',N'-tetraoctyl diglycolamide (TODGA) was used as lipophilic extractant in the organic phase for extraction of Ln(III), and a new strategy for the competitive extraction of An(III) and Ln(III) was developed based on TODGA and the above hydrophilic ligands. The optimal hydrophilic ligand of N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-2,9-dicarboxamide-1,10-phenanthroline (2OH-DAPhen) displayed exceptional selectivity toward Am(III) over Ln(III), with the concentrations of HNO3 ranging from 0.05 to 3.0 M. The maximum separation factors were up to 1365 for Eu/Am, 417.66 for Eu/Cm, and 42.38 for La/Am. The coordination mode and bonding property of 2OH-DAPhen with Ln(III) were investigated by 1H NMR titration, UV-vis spectrophotometric titration, luminescence titration, FT-IR, ESI-HRMS analysis, and DFT calculations. The results revealed that the predominant species formed in the aqueous phase was a 1:1 ligand/metal complex. DFT calculations also confirmed that the affinity of 2OH-DAPhen for Am(III) was better than that for Eu(III). The present work using a competitive extraction strategy developed a feasible alternative method for the selective separation of trivalent actinides from lanthanides.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the cerebral metabolism in the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus-associated cognitive dysfunction (T2DACD) and explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) at the acupoints for Tiaozang Xingshen (adjusting zangfu function and rescuing the spirit) in treatment of T2DACD, using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. METHODS: Fifteen patients with T2DACD (observation group) and 22 healthy subjects (control group) were enrolled. In the observation group, the patients were treated with EA for Tiaozang Xingshen at Baihui (GV 20) and Shenting (GV 24), and bilateral Feishu (BL 13), Pishu (BL 20), Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Hegu (LI 4) and Taichong (LR 3). EA was operated with disperse-dense wave, 2 Hz/100 Hz in frequency and 0.1 mA to 1.0 mA in current intensity; 30 min each time, once daily. One course of EA consisted of 5 treatments, at the interval of 2 days and the intervention lasted 8 courses. Before treatment in the control group, before and after treatment in the observation group, the score of Montreal cognitive assessment scale (MoCA), the score of clinical dementia rating (CDR), Flanker paradigm, Stroop paradigm, Nback paradigm, the score of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), the score of self-rating depression scale (SDS), and the score of Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) were evaluated separately; the glycolipid metabolic indexes (fasting plasma glucose [FPG], glycosylated hemoglobin type A1c [HbA1c], total cholesterol [TC], triacylglycerol [TG], high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-C] and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol [LDL-C]) were determined;with the magnetic resonance spectroscopy technique adopted, the metabolites in the basal ganglia area were detected. The correlation analysis was performed for the metabolite values with MoCA score, CDR score , Flanker paradigm, Stroop paradigm, and Nback paradigm. RESULTS: Before treatment, compared with the control group, in the observation group, MoCA score was lower (P<0.001), CDR score and the levels of FPG and HbA1c were higher (P<0.001); the reaction times of Flanker non-conflict, Flanker conflict, Stroop neutrality, Stroop congruence, Stroop conflict, and 1-back were prolonged (P<0.05, P<0.001), and the accuracy of Flanker conflict, Stroop conflict, and 1-back decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01); the ratio of N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) to creatine (Cr) in the left basal ganglia area was dropped (P<0.001), and that of myo-inositol (MI) to Cr in the right side increased (P<0.05). In the observation group after treatment, compared with the levels before treatment, MoCA score was higher (P<0.001), the scores of CDR, SAS and HAMD were reduced (P<0.01, P<0.05), the reaction times of Flanker conflict and Stroop conflict shortened (P<0.001, P<0.05), and the accuracy of Flanker conflict and 1-back increased (P<0.001, P<0.05); the ratio of NAA to Cr in the left basal ganglia area and that of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to Cr in the right increased (P<0.05), that of MI to Cr in the right decreased (P<0.05). Before treatment, in the observation group, the ratio of MI to Cr in the right basal ganglia area was positively correlated with the reaction time of Stroop congruence (r=0.671, P=0.012) and this ratio was positively correlated with the reaction time of Stroop conflict (r=0.576, P=0.039). CONCLUSIONS: Electroacupuncture for "adjusting zangfu function and rescuing the mind" improves the cognitive function of T2DACD patients, which may be related to the regulation of NAA, MI and GABA levels in the basal ganglia.

Purpose: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a disease with high morbidity and is associated with adverse health outcomes. Screening potential severe OSA patients will improve the quality of patient management and prognosis, while the accuracy and feasibility of existing screening tools are not so satisfactory. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a well-feasible clinical predictive model for screening potential severe OSA patients. Patients and Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study including 1920 adults with overnight polysomnography among which 979 cases were diagnosed with severe OSA. Based on demography, symptoms, and hematological data, a multivariate logistic regression model was constructed and cross-validated and then a nomogram was developed to identify severe OSA. Moreover, we compared the performance of our model with the most commonly used screening tool, Stop-Bang Questionnaire (SBQ), among patients who completed the questionnaires. Results: Severe OSA was associated with male, BMI≥ 28 kg/m2, high blood pressure, choke, sleepiness, apnea, white blood cell count ≥9.5×109/L, hemoglobin ≥175g/L, triglycerides ≥1.7 mmol/L. The AUC of the final model was 0.76 (95% CI: 0.74-0.78), with sensitivity and specificity under the optimal threshold selected by maximizing Youden Index of 73% and 66%. Among patients having the information of SBQ, the AUC of our model was statistically significantly greater than that of SBQ (0.78 vs 0.66, P = 0.002). Conclusion: Based on common clinical examination of admission, we develop a novel model and a nomogram for identifying severe OSA from inpatient with suspected OSA, which provides physicians with a visual and easy-to-use tool for screening severe OSA.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the anti-tumor effect of moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cones on Hepa1-6 liver cancer bearing (HLCB) mice and its regulatory mechanism on cell apoptosis. METHODS: A total of 40 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control, moxibustion, cyclophosphamide (CTX) and moxibustion+CTX groups, with 10 mice in each group. The HLCB model was established by subcutaneous inoculation of Hepa1-6 cancer cells into the right armpit. Mice of the CTX and moxibustion+CTX groups were given intraperitoneal injection of CTX (30 mg/kg), once daily for 3 days. Moxibustion with seed-sized moxa cones were applied to "Dazhui" (GV14), bilateral"Zusanli" (ST36) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP6), with 5 moxa cones for each acupoint, once daily for 10 consecutive days. The survival status scores and body weight of HLCB mice were observed, and the tumor weight and tumor inhibition rate were detected. HE staining was used to observe the morphological changes of tumor tissue. ELISA was used to detect the levels of serum interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4 and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Western blot and fluorescent quantitative real-time PCR were used to detect the protein and mRNA expressions of cysteine aspartate protease (Caspase) -3 and Caspase-9 in tumor tissues, separately. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the survival status scores, body weight, serum IL-2 and TNF-α levels were significantly increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), the tumor weight and serum IL-4 levels were significantly decreased (P<0.05) in the moxibustion group;while the survival status, body weight, tumor weight, serum IL-2 and IL-4 levels were significantly decreased (P<0.01, P<0.05), the content of TNF-α was significantly increased (P<0.01) in the CTX group. The protein and mRNA expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in the 3 trentment groups were significantly increased (P<0.05, P<0.01). In comparison with the moxibustion group, the survival status scores, body weight and tumor weight, serum content of IL-2 were significantly decreased (P<0.01, P<0.05). In contrast to the CTX group, the survival status scores, body weight, serum IL-2 and TNF-α content, and the expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in tumor tissue were significantly increased (P<0.01, P<0.05), and the tumor weight and serum IL-4 content were significantly decreased (P<0.05) in the moxibustion+CTX group. Results of HE staining showed that the tumor cells in the control group had clear nuclear membranes and nucleoli, with more dividing cells; while less nuclear division and an increase in tumor necrosis areas were found in the 3 treatment groups. CONCLUSION: Moxibustion with seed-size moxa cone can enhance the anti-tumor effect of CTX and improve the quality of life of HLCB mice, which may be related with its effect in activating the expressions of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in tumor tissue.

Annotating cells in the analysis of single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data is one of the most challenging tasks that researchers are actively addressing. Manual cell annotation is generally considered the gold standard method, although it is labor intensive and independent of prior knowledge. At present, the relationship between high-quality, known marker genes and cell types is very limited, especially for a variety of species other than humans and mice. The singleCellBase is a manually curated resource of high-quality cell types and gene markers associations across multiple species. In details, it offers 9,158 entries spanning a total of 1,221 cell types and linking with 8,740 genes (cell markers), covering 464 diseases/status, and 165 types of tissues across 31 species. The singleCellBase provides a user-friendly interface to the scientific community to browse, search, download and submit records of marker genes and cell types. The resource providing ineluctable prior knowledge required by manual cell annotation, which is valuable to interpret scRNA-seq data and elucidate what cell type or cell state that a cell population represents.

Ferromagnetic semiconductors (FMS) enable simultaneous control of both charge and spin transport of charge carriers, and they have emerged as a class of highly desirable but rare materials for applications in spin field-effect transistors and quantum computing. Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites with high compositional adjustability and structural versatility can offer unique benefits in the design of FMS but has not been fully explored. Here, a series of molecular FMSs based on the 2D organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite structure, namely (2ampy)CuCl4 , (3ampy)CuCl4 , and (4ampy)CuCl4 , is demonstrated, which exhibits high saturation magnetization, dramatic temperature-dependent conductivity change, and tunable ferromagnetic resonance. Magnetic measurements reveal a high saturation magnetization up to 18.56 emu g-1 for (4ampy)CuCl4 , which is one of the highest value among reported hybrid FMSs to date. Conductivity studies of the three FMSs demonstrate that the smaller adjacent octahedron distance in the 2D layer results in higher conductivity. Systematic ferromagnetic resonance investigation shows that the gyromagnetic ratio and Landau factor values are strongly dependent on the types of organic cations used. This work demonstrates that 2D hybrid perovskite materials can simultaneously possess both tunable long-range ferromagnetic ordering and semiconductivity, providing a straightforward strategy for designing and synthesizing high-performance intrinsic FMSs.

BACKGROUND: This paper aims to analyze the time trend of OCs incidence in 43 countries (1988-2012) and predict the incidence trend of OCs (2012-2030). METHODS: In the database for Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, the annual data on OCs incidence grouped by age and gender were obtained from 108 cancer registries in 43 countries. The age-standardized incidence rates were calculated, and the Bayesian age-period-cohort model was used to predict the incidence in 2030. RESULTS: South Asia and Oceania had the highest ASR in 1988 (9.24/100 000) and 2012 (6.74/100 000). It was predicted that India, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Japan would be the countries with an increased incidence of OCs in 2030. CONCLUSION: Regional custom is an important factor affecting the incidence of OCs. According to our predictions., it is necessary to control risk factors according to local conditions and enhance screening and education.

Grain boundary engineering (GBE) is considered to be an attractive approach to microstructure control, which significantly enhances the grain-boundary-related properties of face-centered cubic (FCC) metals. During the twinning-related GBE, the microstructures are characterized as abundant special twin boundaries that sufficiently disrupt the connectivity of the random boundary network. However, controlling the grain boundary character distribution (GBCD) is an extremely difficult issue, as it strongly depends on diverse processing parameters. This article provides a comprehensive review of controlling GBCD during the twinning-related GBE of FCC materials. To commence, this review elaborates on the theory of twinning-related GBE, the microscopic mechanisms used in the optimization of GBCD, and the optimization objectives of GBCD. Aiming to achieve control over the GBCD, the influence of the initial microstructure, thermo-mechanical processing (TMP) routes, and thermal deformation parameters on the twinning-related microstructures and associated evolution mechanisms are discussed thoroughly. Especially, the development of twinning-related kinetics models for predicting the evolution of twin density is highlighted. Furthermore, this review addresses the applications of twinning-related GBE in enhancing the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of FCC materials. Finally, future prospects in terms of controlling the GBCD during twinning-related GBE are proposed. This study will contribute to optimizing the GBCD and designing GBE routes for better grain-boundary-related properties in terms of FCC materials.
