RESUMO O Plasma Rico em Plaquetas (PRP) é um preparado do sangue total que contém diversos fatores de crescimento importantes na proliferação e diferenciação celular, angiogênese, além de síntese e deposição da matriz extracelular. Há na literatura diversos estudos sobre a ação do PRP na reparação de lesões musculoesqueléticas e cutâneas em várias espécies, com resultados promissores. Nesse sentido, o objetivo dessa revisão é relatar as propriedades do PRP, bem como a sua aplicação terapêutica em tecidos musculoesqueléticos e cutâneo, com enfoque particular na espécie equina.
