Resumo
Yellowfin tuna gonad index of ovaries monthly collected along two years confirms the lack of spawning activity in southern and southeastern Brazil. Also it was observed that in immature gonads (before the first spawning and regressed) the gonad index increases with the size of the fish.Índices gonadais de ovários de albacora-de-lage, coletados mensalmente durante dois anos, confirmam a ausência de atividade reprodutiva da espécie no Sudeste e Sul do Brasil. Observa-se também que as gônadas imaturas (antes da primeira maturação e em repouso) têm um índice gonadal que aumenta conforme aumenta o tamanho dos exemplares.
