RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The treatment of in-stent restenosis (ISR) after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation remains challenging in current clinical practice. AIMS: The study was conducted to investigate a novel biolimus-coated balloon (BCB) for the treatment of coronary DES-ISR compared with the best-investigated paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB). METHODS: This was a prospective, multicentre, randomised, non-inferiority trial comparing a novel BCB with a clinically proven PCB for coronary DES-ISR. The primary endpoint was in-segment late lumen loss (LLL) at 9 months assessed by an independent core laboratory. Baseline and follow-up optical coherence tomography were performed in a prespecified subgroup of patients. RESULTS: A total of 280 patients at 17 centres were randomised to treatment with a BCB (n=140) versus a PCB (n=140). At 9 months, LLL in the BCB group was 0.23±0.37 mm compared to 0.25±0.35 mm in the PCB group; the mean difference between the groups was -0.02 (95% confidence interval [CI]: -0.12 to 0.07) mm; p-value for non-inferiority<0.0001. Similar clinical outcomes were also observed for both groups at 12 months. In the optical coherence tomography substudy, the neointimal area at 9 months was 2.32±1.04 mm2 in the BCB group compared to 2.37±0.93 mm2 in the PCB group; the mean difference between the groups was -0.09 (95% CI: -0.94 to 0.76) mm2; p=non-significant. CONCLUSIONS: This head-to-head comparison of a novel BCB shows similar angiographic outcomes in the treatment of coronary DES-ISR compared with a clinically proven PCB. RESUMO

Currently, Helicobacter pylori eradication by antibiotic therapy faces various challenges, including antibiotic resistance, side effects on intestinal commensal bacteria, and patient compliance. In this study, loureirin A (LrA), a traditional Chinese medicine monomer extracted from Sanguis Draconis flavones, was found to possess specific antibacterial activity against H. pylori without the bacteria displaying a tendency to develop resistance in vitro. LrA demonstrated a synergistic or additive effect when combined with omeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) against H. pylori. The combination of LrA and omeprazole showed promising anti-H. pylori potential, exhibiting notable in vivo efficacy comparable to standard triple therapy in mouse models infected with both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant H. pylori strains. Moreover, the narrow-spectrum antibacterial profile of LrA is reflected in its minimal effect on the diversity and composition of the mouse gut microbiota. The underlying mechanism of action of LrA against H. pylori involves the generation of bactericidal levels of reactive oxygen species, resulting in apoptosis-like cell death. These findings indicate that LrA is a promising lead compound targeting H. pylori without harming the commensal bacteria.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Intravascular lithotripsy is effective and safe for managing coronary calcification; however, available devices are limited, and complex lesions have been excluded in previous studies. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of a novel intravascular lithotripsy system for severe calcification in a population with complex lesions. METHODS: CALCI-CRACK (ChiCTR2100052058) is a prospective, single-arm, multicenter study. The primary endpoint was the procedural success rate. Major safety endpoints included major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and target lesion failure (TLF) at 30 days and 6 months, and severe angiographic complications. Calcification morphology was assessed in the optical coherence tomography (OCT) subgroup. RESULTS: In total, 242 patients from 15 high-volume Chinese centers were enrolled, including 26.45% of patients with true bifurcation lesions, 3.31% with severely tortuous vessels, and 2.48% with chronic total occlusion, respectively. The procedural success rate was 95.04% (95% confidence interval 91.50-97.41%), exceeding the pre-specified performance goal of 83.4% (p<0.001). The 30-day and 6-month MACE rates were 4.13% and 4.55%, respectively. TLF rates at these time-points were 1.24% and 1.65%, respectively. Severe angiographic complications occurred in 0.42% of patients. In the OCT subgroup (n=93), 93.55% of calcified lesions were fractured, and minimal lumen area increased from 1.55 ± 0.55 mm2 to 4.91 ± 1.22 mm2 after stent implantation, with acute gain rate of 245 ± 102%. CONCLUSIONS: The novel intravascular lithotripsy system is effective and safe for managing severely calcified coronary lesions in a cohort that included true bifurcation lesions, severely tortuous vessels, and chronic total occlusion. RESUMO

Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) infection was common worldwide and previous researches on the correlation between H pylori infection and metabolic abnormality provided inconsistent conclusions. We assessed acute H pylori infection prevalence and the relationship with metabolic abnormality in general Chinese population. Participants attending for the physical examination underwent a carbon-13 urea breath test. For individual, the following data were collected: age, gender, body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, total protein, albumin, globulin (GLB), total bilirubin, direct bilirubin (DBIL), indirect bilirubin, alanine transaminase, glutamyl transpeptidase, alkaline phosphatase, cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), and homocysteine. A total of 29,154 participants were enrolled. The prevalence of acute H pylori infection was 29.79% (8684/29,154). Spearson correlation analysis showed that gender, BMI, ALB, GLB, total bilirubin, DBIL, indirect bilirubin, and FPG were closely related to H pylori infection. Multinomial logistic regressions analysis with stepwise subset selection further identified gender, BMI, ALB, GLB, DBIL, and FPG as independent risk factors for acute H pylori infection. Our results indicated that acute H pylori infection might has a significant impact on metabolic abnormalities, which should be further confirmed.

RESUMO

Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) frequently encounters patients who are in intensive care units and ∼70% of patients with severe systemic infection. However, due to the unclear pathological mechanisms of SAE, the desease-modifying drug is still lack. Here, we aimed to explore whether the flavonoid components extracted from CCL (CCLF) seeds possess protective effects on SAE animals, and systematically evaluate the transcriptomic alteration (in the hippocampus) after CCLF treatment on SAE animals employing RNA sequencing. We observed that CCLF improved the brain's learning and memory abilities and the structural integrity of BBB using cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced SAE animal models, evaluated by behavioral test and tissue examination of animals respectively. RNA sequencing results showed that CCLF treatment reverses SAE-induced transcriptomic alteration in the hippocampus. Moreover, CCLF also dramatically relieved inflammatory (such as TNF-α, IL-2, and IL-6) and oxidative (MDA and SOD activity) stresses, and inhibited SAE-induced neuron apoptosis in brain tissues. More importantly, CCLF restored the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and then induced the Nrf2 nuclear translocation to drive HO-1 expression both in vitro and in vivo. LY294002, an inhibitor of PI3K, obviously blocked CCLF's functions on anti-apoptosis, anti-inflammation, and anti-oxidation in vivo, demonstrating that CCLF achieves its bioactivities in a PI3K/AKT signaling dependent manner. Altogether, CCLF exhibits remarkable neuro-protective function and may be a promising candidate for further clinical trials for SAE treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Nowadays, people attach increasing importance to accurate and timely disease diagnosis and personalized treatment. Because of the uncertainty and latency of the pathogenesis, it is difficult to detect breast tumour early. With higher resolution, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an important method for early detection of cancer in recent years. At present, DL technology can automatically study imaging features of different depths. OBJECTIVE: This work aimed to use DL to study medical image-assisted diagnosis. METHODS: The image data were collected from the patients. ROI (region of interest) containing the complete tumor area in the medical image was generated. The ROI image was extracted, and the extracted feature data were expanded. By constructing a three-dimensional (3D) CNN model, the evaluation indicators of breast tumour diagnosis results have been proposed. In the experiment part, 3D CNN model and other models have been used to diagnose the medical image of breast tumour. RESULTS: The 3D CNN model exhibited good ROI region extraction effect and breast tumor image diagnosis effect, and the average diagnostic accuracy of breast tumor image diagnosis was 0.736, which has been found to be much higher than other models and could be applied to breast tumor medical image-aided diagnosis. CONCLUSION: The 3D CNN model has been trained by combining the two-dimensional CNN training mode, and the evaluation index of diagnostic results has been established. The experimental part verified the medical image diagnosis effect of the 3D CNN model. The model had exhibited a high ROI region extraction effect and breast tumor image diagnosis effect.

RESUMO

Introduction: Digital health has the potential to support health care in rural areas by overcoming the problems of distance and poor infrastructure, however, rural areas have extremely low use of digital health because of the lack of interaction with technology. There is no existing tool to measure digital health literacy in rural China. This study aims to test and validate the digital health readiness questionnaire for assessing digital readiness among patients in rural China. Methods: Due to the different Internet environments in China compared to Belgium, a cultural adaptation is needed to optimize the use of Digital Health Readiness Questionnaire in China. Then, a prospective single-center survey study was conducted in rural China among patients with hypertension. Confirmatory factor analysis was computed to test the measurement models. Results: A total of 330 full questionnaires were selected and included in the analysis. The model-fit measures were used to assess the model's overall goodness of fit (Chi-square/degrees of freedom = 5.060, comparative fit index = 0.889, Tucker-Lewis index (TLI) = 0.869, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.111, standardized root mean square residual (SRMR) = 0.0880). TLI is a little bit lower than the borderline (more than 0.9) and RMSEA is higher than it (less than 0.08 means good model fit). We deleted two items 2 and 4 and the result shows a better goodness of fit (Chi-square/degrees of freedom = 4.897, comparative fit index = 0.914, TLI = 0.895, RMSEA = 0.109, SRMR = 0.0765). Conclusion: To increase applicability and generalizability in rural areas, it should be considered to use the calculation of only the parts Digital skills, Digital literacy and Digital health literacy which are equally applicable in a Belgian population as in a rural Chinese population.

RESUMO

Opportunistic fungal infections, particularly caused by Candida albicans, remain a common cause of high morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. The escalating prevalence of antifungal drug resistance necessitates the immediate exploration of alternative treatment strategies to combat these life-threatening fungal diseases. In this study, we investigated the antifungal efficacy of firsocostat, a human acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) inhibitor, against C. albicans. Firsocostat alone displayed moderate antifungal activity, while combining it with voriconazole, itraconazole, or amphotericin B exhibited synergistic effects across almost all drug-sensitive and drug-resistant C. albicans strains tested. These observed synergies were further validated in two mouse models of oropharyngeal and systemic candidiasis, where the combination therapies demonstrated superior fungicidal effects compared to monotherapy. Moreover, firsocostat was shown to directly bind to C. albicans ACC and inhibit its enzymatic activity. Sequencing spontaneous firsocostat-resistant mutants revealed mutations mapping to C. albicans ACC, confirming that firsocostat has retained its target in C. albicans. Overall, our findings suggest that repurposing firsocostat, either alone or in combination with other antifungal agents, holds promising potential in the development of antifungal drugs and the treatment of candidiasis.

RESUMO

Staphylococcus aureus poses a severe public health problem as one of the vital causative agents of healthcare- and community-acquired infections. There is a globally urgent need for new drugs with a novel mode of action (MoA) to combat S. aureus biofilms and persisters that tolerate antibiotic treatment. We demonstrate that a benzonaphthopyranone glycoside, chrysomycin A (ChryA), is a rapid bactericide that is highly active against S. aureus persisters, robustly eradicates biofilms in vitro, and shows a sustainable killing efficacy in vivo. ChryA was suggested to target multiple critical cellular processes. A wide range of genetic and biochemical approaches showed that ChryA directly binds to GlmU and DapD, involved in the biosynthetic pathways for the cell wall peptidoglycan and lysine precursors, respectively, and inhibits the acetyltransferase activities by competition with their mutual substrate acetyl-CoA. Our study provides an effective antimicrobial strategy combining multiple MoAs onto a single small molecule for treatments of S. aureus persistent infections.

RESUMO

Objective: This study aimed to assess the fairness of medical resource allocation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, based on the Healthy China strategy. It aimed to identify the issues with resource allocation fairness and provide optimization suggestions. Methods: To assess the allocation fairness from a geographical population perspective, the study used the Health Resource Concentration and Entropy Weight TOPSIS methods. Additionally, the study analyzed the allocation fairness from an economic level angle, using the Concentration Curve and Concentration Index. Results: The study found that the downstream area had higher resource allocation fairness than the midstream and upstream areas. The middle reaches had more resources than the upper and lower reaches, based on population concentration. The Entropy Weight TOPSIS method found that Shanghai, Zhejiang, Chongqing, and Jiangsu had the highest comprehensive score index of agglomeration. Furthermore, from 2013 to 2019, the fairness of medical resource distribution gradually improved for different economic levels. Government health expenditure and medical beds were distributed more equitably, while general practitioners had the highest level of unfairness. However, except for medical and health institutions, traditional Chinese medicine institutions, and primary health institutions, other medical resources were mostly distributed to areas with better economic conditions. Conclusion: The study found that the fairness of medical resource allocation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt varied greatly based on geographical population distribution, with inadequate spatial accessibility and service accessibility. Although the fairness of distribution based on economic levels improved over time, medical resources were still concentrated in better economic areas. The study recommends improving regional coordinated development to enhance the fairness of medical resource allocation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

RESUMO

Numerous studies have demonstrated that gut microbiota plays an important role in the development and treatment of different cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, and atherosclerosis. Furthermore, evidence from recent studies has shown that gut microbiota contributes to the development of myocarditis. Myocarditis is an inflammatory disease that often results in myocardial damage. Myocarditis is a common cause of sudden cardiac death in young adults. The incidence of myocarditis and its associated dilated cardiomyopathy has been increasing yearly. Myocarditis has gained significant attention on social media due to its association with both COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccinations. However, the current therapeutic options for myocarditis are limited. In addition, little is known about the potential therapeutic targets of myocarditis. In this study, we review (1) the evidence on the gut-heart axis, (2) the crosslink between gut microbiota and the immune system, (3) the association between myocarditis and the immune system, (4) the impact of gut microbiota and its metabolites on myocarditis, (5) current strategies for modulating gut microbiota, (6) challenges and future directions for targeted gut microbiota in the treatment of myocarditis. The approach of targeting the gut microbiota in myocarditis is still in its infancy, and this is the study to explore the gut microbiota-immune system-myocarditis axis. Our findings are expected to pave the way for the use of gut microbiota as a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of myocarditis.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Pulmonary hypertension is a rare cardiopulmonary disease, with an insidious onset that usually worsens rapidly. Amyloid light chain (AL) amyloidosis is a rare systemic disease caused by extracellular deposition of pathologic, insoluble, and proteinaceous fibrils in organs and tissues; however, it is difficult to diagnose given its varied and nonspecific symptoms. To date, rare cases of amyloidosis with pulmonary hypertension have been reported. Of note, the optimal treatments for cardiac amyloidosis complicated with pulmonary hypertension remain unclear. CASE SUMMARY: We report a case of a 51-year-old woman who presented with progressively worsening dyspnea. Transthoracic echocardiography indicated severe pulmonary hypertension. Twenty-seven months after first admission, the patient returned with symptoms of progressive heart failure. A myocardial tissue sample stained with Congo red was positive, and the patient was ultimately diagnosed with AL amyloidosis with cardiac involvement. CONCLUSION: Although pulmonary hypertension may be idiopathic, it is frequently associated with other conditions. In rare cases, pulmonary hypertension can be a complication of AL amyloidosis, which should be seriously considered in any adult presenting with nonspecific signs or symptoms of cardiac distress.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of different doses of dexmedetomidine (DEX) for epidural labor analgesia (ELA). Methods: From June 2021 to June 2022, 147 parturients who underwent ELA in our hospital were selected and divided into low- (0.5 µg/kg DEX), medium- (0.75 µg/kg DEX), and high-dose (1.0 µg/kg DEX) groups (n = 49 for each) according to the random number table method. The analgesic effect was assessed using the Ramsay sedation score and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and the labor duration, mean arterial pressure (MAP), and heart rate (HR) before and after analgesia, vaginal bleeding within 2 h postpartum, and delivery outcomes (the cesarean section conversion rate and the neonatal Apgar score) were statistically analyzed. Furthermore, the incidence of adverse reactions was calculated, and maternal satisfaction with delivery was investigated. Results: After analgesia, the the Ramsay and labor duration were higher in the high-dose group than those in the low- and medium-dose groups, and the VAS scores was lowerin the high-dose group than those in the low- and medium-dose groups(P < 0.05), while no difference was identified among the three groups in terms of the cesarean section conversion rate and the neonatal Apgar score (P > 0.05). The high-dose group had the greatest fluctuations in MAP and HR levels before and after analgesia than the other two groups, with a higher incidence of adverse reactions (P < 0.05). Finally, the survey of delivery satisfaction showed no significant difference in delivery satisfaction among the three groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: DEX has excellent performance in ELA, which can effectively relieve the pain of puerperae and shorten the labor process. Among them, low-dose DEX has higher safety and is recommended as the first choice. Trial Registrations. This trial is registered with ML2021073.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Despite proven benefits, patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) typically fail to participate in sufficient physical activity (PA). Effective interventions should be implemented to help patients maintain a healthy lifestyle and modify their present behavior. Gamification is the use of game design features (such as points, leaderboards, and progress bars) to improve motivation and engagement. It shows the potential for encouraging patients to engage in PA. However, empirical evidence on the efficacy of such interventions among patients with CHD is still emerging. PURPOSE: The aim of the study is to explore whether a smartphone-based gamification intervention could increase PA participation and other physical and psychological outcomes in CHD patients. METHODS: Participants with CHD were randomly assigned to three groups (control group, individual group, and team group). The individual and team groups received gamified behavior intervention based on behavioral economics. The team group combined gamified intervention with social interaction. The intervention lasted for 12 weeks, and the follow-up was12 weeks. The primary outcomes included the change in daily steps and the proportion of patient days that step goals were achieved. The secondary outcomes included competence, autonomy, relatedness, and autonomous motivation. RESULTS: For the individual group, smartphone-based gamification intervention significantly increased PA among CHD patients over the 12-week period (step count difference 988; 95% CI 259-1717; p < 0.01) and had a good maintenance effect during the follow-up period (step count difference 819; 95% CI 24-1613; p < 0.01). There are also significant differences in competence, autonomous motivation, body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference in 12 weeks between the control group and individual group. For the team group, gamification intervention with collaboration didn't result in significant increases in PA. But patients in this group had a significant increase in competence, relatedness, and autonomous motivation. CONCLUSION: A smartphone-based gamification intervention was proven to be an effective way to increase motivation and PA engagement, with a substantial maintenance impact (Chinese Clinical Trial Registry Identifier: ChiCTR2100044879).

RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the relationships between modifiable and non-modifiable factors that influence sleep quality in hospitalized patients with cardiovascular disease in China. This study design was cross-sectional and descriptive. This study involved a convenience sample of 242 patients hospitalized for cardiovascular issues. Hierarchical regression model and qualitative comparative analysis model were performed. Regression revealed that age and depression both had statistically significant effects on sleep quality. The combination of conditions with strongest predictive effect on sleep quality was male of younger age, high level of depression, high level of anxiety, and low level of social support. Other combinations with predictive power on sleep quality are as follows: (1) younger male patients (aged 47-63 years) with high level of anxiety, high level of social support, and low level of depression; (2) older male patients (aged 63-79 years) with high level of depression, high level of social support, and low levels of anxiety; and (3) older male patients with high level of anxiety and low level of social support. Nurses may promote primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular health prior to hospitalization, through routine screening for depressive and anxious symptoms and assessment of the patient's social support network. It is unknown whether these findings are unique to hospitalized patients. Therefore, future work should assess the fit of the model to other more diverse groups of hospitalized patients.

RESUMO

Rationale: The efficacy and mechanism of hydroxyurea in the treatment of atherosclerosis have rarely been reported. The goal of this study was to investigate the efficacy of hydroxyurea in high-fat diet-fed ApoE-/- mice against atherosclerosis and examine the possible mechanism underlying treatment outcomes. Methods: ApoE-/- mice were fed a high-fat diet for 1 month and then administered hydroxyurea by gavage continuously for 2 months. Aortic root hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining and oil red O staining were used to verify the efficacy of hydroxyurea; biochemical methods and ELISA were used to detect changes in relevant metabolites in serum. 16S rRNA was used to detect composition changes in the intestinal bacterial community of animals after treatment with hydroxyurea. Metabolomics methods were used to identify fecal metabolites and their changes. Immunohistochemical staining and ELISA were used for the localization and quantification of intestinal NPC1L1. Results: We showed that aortic root HE staining and oil red O staining determined the therapeutic efficacy of hydroxyurea in the treatment of atherosclerosis in high-fat diet-fed ApoE-/- mice. Serological tests verified the ability of hydroxyurea to lower total serum cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. The gut microbiota was significantly altered after HU treatment and was significantly different from that after antiplatelet and statin therapy. Meanwhile, a metabolomic study revealed that metabolites, including stearic acid, palmitic acid and cholesterol, were significantly enriched in mouse feces. Further histological and ELISAs verified that the protein responsible for intestinal absorption of cholesterol in mice, NPC1L1, was significantly reduced after hydroxyurea treatment. Conclusions: In high-fat diet-fed ApoE-/- mice, hydroxyurea effectively treated atherosclerosis, lowered serum cholesterol, modulated the gut microbiota at multiple levels and affected cholesterol absorption by reducing NPC1L1 in small intestinal epithelial cells.

RESUMO

Background: Early revascularization of the culprit vessel is the most effective treatment for reducing the risk of mortality from acute STEMI with and without cardiogenic shock. However, the most recent trends and impact of multivessel percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) during the index hospitalization on in-hospital outcomes are unknown. Methods: The National Inpatient Sample was queried from October 2015 to 2019 for hospitalizations with STEMI. The impact of multivessel PCI on in-hospital outcomes of patients with and without cardiogenic shock was evaluated. Results: Of 624,605 STEMI hospitalizations treated with PCI, 12.5% were complicated by cardiogenic shock. Among hospitalizations without cardiogenic shock, 15.7% were treated by multivessel PCI, which declined from 20.8% in 2015 to 13.9% in 2019 (P trend < 0.001). Multivessel and culprit-only PCI had similar rates of In-hospital mortality (2.4 vs. 2.3%, p = 0.027) and major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE; 7.4 vs. 7.2%, p = 0.072). Among hospitalizations with cardiogenic shock, 22.1% were treated by multivessel PCI, which declined from 29.2% in 2015 to 19.4% in 2019 (P trend < 0.001). Multivessel PCI was associated with higher rates of in-hospital mortality (30.9 vs. 28.4%, p < 0.001) and MACCE (39.9 vs. 36.5%, p < 0.001) than culprit-only PCI. Conclusion: The frequency of multivessel PCI for STEMI with and without cardiogenic shock is declining. Multivessel PCI is associated with worse in-hospital outcomes for STEMI with cardiogenic shock but not for STEMI without cardiogenic shock.

RESUMO

Eukaryotic phytoplankton play crucial roles in ecosystem processes, and understanding their community composition and abundance is of great importance to protect the balance of aquatic ecosystems. Danjiangkou Reservoir is a canyon lake in central China that acts as the water source of the Mid-route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project. In this study, the composition of planktonic microeukaryotes from water samples with a depth ranging from 0.5 to 20 m in Danjiangkou Reservoir were investigated using high-throughput 18S rDNA gene sequencing. The environmental factors including pH, water temperature (WT), nitrate (NO3--N), ammonia (NH4+-N), total nitrogen (TN), conductivity (Cond.), water depth, and dissolved oxygen (DO) in the reservoir areas were measured, and their correlations with the abundance and diversity of eukaryotic phytoplankton were analyzed. The results of high-throughput sequencing showed that a total of 68 genera of phytoplankton belonging to 12 phyla were detected, and the phytoplankton communities were mainly composed of Dinophyceae, Bacillariophyta, and Chlorophyta. In particular, significant differences in the diversity of phytoplankton communities on a vertical distribution were found. The diversity and abundance of the phytoplankton communities in Songgang (SG), Tumen (TM), and Dangzikou (DZK) decreased with the increase in water depth, and the relationship between phytoplankton and water depth in other sampling sites was not obvious. The results of RDA showed that NO3--N, water depth, DO, pH, and WT could influence the vertical distribution of the phytoplankton community in the Danjiangkou Reservoir. Among these phytoplankton types, Dinophyceae was negatively correlated with NO3--N and water depth and positively correlated with other environmental factors. Meanwhile, Bacillariophyta was positively correlated with NO3--N and water depth and negatively correlated with other environmental factors. In addition, Chlorophyta was negatively correlated with WT, pH, and DO and not significantly correlated with water depth.
