ABSTRACT
Abstract Aims: This study's general objective is to analyze the sportive usage of the 12 Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup™ arenas. The specific objectives are: (i) To measure the 12 arenas' sportive legacy usage; (ii) To examine and analyze the causes and effects of the results that were found; and (iii) To develop a sportive usage index. Methods: To achieve these objectives, the documental research method was employed. Once in possession of the qualitative and quantitative data, parameters were established for the analysis, which was limited by the seasons from 2014 to 2019. We then constructed tables and applied statistical treatment. Results: 2014 Season: 215 matches; 2015 Season: 287 matches; 2016 Season: 248 matches; 2017 Season: 260 matches; 2018 Season: 296 matches; and 2019 Season: 325 matches. These results revealed extremes, with some arenas receiving little use and others being highly used. The sportive usage index was about ≅23 matches/year and 2 matches/month. Conclusions: These results are not random and occurred due to matters pertaining to Brazilian soccer peculiarities, with an emphasis on successive increases in the number of competitions; a large number of matches per year; arenas constructed in locations with low popularity teams that receive little use; and political and management issues that interrupted an arena's use (Maracanã in 2016) We recommend that new studies be conducted focusing on the management of these arenas, their state of maintenance and/or conservation, costs, budgets and the use of public resources in their construction.

Aim: Sporting mega-event organization requires developing strategies to maximize the chance of success. For the Brazil 2014 Fifa World Cup, it was not different. The action started long before the opening match on 06/12/2014. The issue we seek to investigate is: How did the 2014 Fifa World Cup's management as a sporting mega-event develop during the pre-event phase? The general objective was to identify and analyze management-related peculiarities of the 2014 Fifa World Cup's management during the pre-event period. The operational objectives were: (i) To identify the organizational structure set up to manage the 2014 Fifa World Cup; (ii) reveal the candidacy process; (iii) find out the initial budgets/investments planned for the 2014 Fifa World Cup; (iv) examine the management difficulties that happened during the pre-event period; and (v) detect the legacy left by said phase. Method: primary data was collected through an elite interview conceded by ex-Minister of Sports Orlando Silva and secondary data was obtained through bibliographical and documental research techniques. The interview was evaluated through content analysis. The analysis and discussion were categorized as follows: organizational structure, candidacy process, management, and legacy. The results show legacy was obtained in the pre-event phase due to the knowledge generated during the candidacy process. They also show a strengthening of Brazil's image as a mega-event organizer. Some difficulties include no integration between organizers, delay in defining host-cities and construction, no initial budgets and no transparency in the bid's initial publishing.(AU)

The Brazilian "Série A" Championship has demonstrated economic stability, especially after the implementation of the consecutive point system in 2003 and the changes made to the operational management of this competition. In face of the variables economy, market and media, we attempted to investigate how the Brazilian Football Championship is structured from a business standpoint. Our goal was to analyze the Brazilian Football Championship from an economic and financial perspective. From a methodological standpoint, we used bibliographical and documentary research. Results have shown that, together, the economy, market and media have helped to improve the business of football by increasing its value and generating revenues. They have also have developed new opportunities. O Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol da Série A tem demonstrado estabilidade econômica, sobretudo, a partir de 2003 após a inserção do sistema de pontos corridos e mudanças na gestão operacional da competição. Diante das variáveis: economia, mercado e mídia, buscamos investigar como está estruturado o negócio campeonato brasileiro de futebol. O objetivo geral foi compor um panorama econômico-financeiro sobre o campeonato brasileiro de futebol. Utilizou-se os métodos da pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa documental que possibilitaram apresentar e analisar os dados encontrados. El campeonato brasileño de fútbol de "Série A" ha demostrado estabilidad, sobretodo, a partir de 2003 después la inserción de puntos corridos y cambios en la gestión operacional de la competición. A partir de esa nueva configuración y delante de las variables: economía, mercado y medios, buscamos investigar cómo está estructurado el negocio campeonato brasileño de fútbol. El objetivo general fue componer un panorama económico-financiero a respecto del campeonato brasileño de fútbol. Se utilizó los métodos de pesquisa bibliográfica y pesquisa documental que posibilitaron presentar y analizar los datos encontrados. Los resultados apuntan que la economía, el mercado y los medios y la TV forman una tríade que potencializa el negocio fútbol, proporcionando valorización de precios, generación de recetas, negocios y oportunidades. O Brasil irá sediar dois dos mais importantes eventos esportivos mundiais, a Copa do Mundo FIFA 2014 e os Jogos Olímpicos RIO 2016. O objetivo desta pesquisa é verificar a percepção dos profissionais de educação física da cidade do Rio de Janeiro sobre o legado que estes megaeventos podem trazer para suas vidas tanto em termos de desenvolvimento profissional quanto em questões relacionadas ao seu cotidiano. Em nossa discussão de resultados levantamos tópicos sobre os impactos e expectativas sobre os megaeventos no mercado de trabalho para estes professores, valorização profissional, prática e aumento do interesse esportivo, legado social e suas sugestões para o sucesso destes eventos.
Brazil is about to host two of the most important world sport events, the FIFA World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games Rio 2016. The purpose of this research is to observe the perceptions of physical education professionals from Rio de Janeiro in regard to the legacy these mega events may bring to their lives in terms of professional development as well as in questions related to their routine. In our discussion about the results we raise topics about the impact and expectations of these mega events in the job market to these teachers, professional valorization, practice, and raise interest in sport, social legacy and suggestions to the success of these events.
Brasil será sede de los dos más importantes eventos deportivos del mundo, la Copa del Mundo de la FIFA 2014 y los Juegos Olímpicos Rio 2016. El objetivo de esta investigación es verificar la percepción de los profesionales de Educación Física de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro sobre el resultado que estos mega eventos pueden traer para sus vidas, tanto en términos de desarrollo profesional como en cuestiones relacionadas a su vida cotidiana. En nuestros resultados levantamos puntos sobre los impactos e expectativas sobre los mega eventos en el mercado de trabajo para estos profesionales, valorización profesional, práctica e aumentos de interés deportivo, resultado social y sus sugerencias para el éxito de estos eventos.

Nos próximos cinco anos o Brasil será palco das principais competições esportivas mundiais. A Copa do Mundo de 2014 e as Olimpíadas Rio 2016 encerrarão a década de exposição brasileira na realização de megaeventos esportivos. Assim, este ensaio busca responder como os estádios construídos para a Copa de 2014 poderão ser reutilizados de maneira eficiente tornando-se positivos legados. Através da revisão bibliográfica e documental sobre legados de megaeventos, aliada a aspectos econômicos financeiros objetivamos evidenciar as reais possibilidades dessa reutilização. Over the next five years Brazil will host the major sporting events in the world.The 2014 FIFAWorld Cup and 2016 Olympic Games in Rio will close a decade of Brazils exposure in the realization of mega sporting events. Therefore, this test tries to answer how stadiums built for the 2014 FIFAWorld Cup can be reutilized effectively as a positive legacy. La Copa Mundial de la FIFA Brasil 2014 y los Juegos Olímpicos 2016 en Rio secierra una década de exposición de Brasil en grandes eventos desportivos. Por lo tanto, el presente ensayo pretende responder como los estadios construídos para el mundial de 2014 pueden ser reutilizados con eficácia cambiando en un legado positivo. Mediante uma revisión bibliográfica y documentalsobre el legado de grandes eventos desportivos, junto con uma visión economíca financiera con objetivo de mostrar las posibilidades reales de reutilización.
