ABSTRACT

Objective To provide effective reference for quality analysis of the chemical composition and extraction of astragalus separation process by comparing the extract of astragalus and it’s IR spectra. Methods The saponins and flavonoids in astragalus were firstly extracted by the method of circumfluence with ethanol as solvent and the residue of ethanol-extraction was then used to extract polysaccharides by distilled water. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (IR) combined with second derivative infrared spectroscopy was applied to quickly identify astragalus herbs powder, water extraction of astragalus, astragalus alcohol extraction and water extraction of the residue of ethanol-extraction. Results The powder and 70% ethanol extract, 80% ethanol extract were around at 1 735 cm-1 (carbonyl stretching vibration absorption peak) has a weak, broad absorption, while the absorption peak was less obvious in boiling water extraction. So the maln components of astragalus water extraction are polysaccharides and also contaln a small amount of water-insoluble flavonoids. Alcohol extraction malnly contalns saponins and flavonoids, and flavonoid extract volume increases with increasing alcohol concentration in a certaln range. Conclusion This method can be a quick and easy identification for astragalus and it’s extraction for its chemical composition class, and provide the basis for further research quality.

ABSTRACT

Objective To studyeffect of different processes for preparation ofβ- cyclodextrin inclusion pericarpium citri reticulatae - Radix Aucklandiae essential oil. Methods Extract pericarpium citri reticulatae-radix aucklandiae essential oil with steam distillation method, conductβ- cyclodextrin inclusion of pericarpium citri reticulatae-radix Aucklandiae essential oil with ultrasonic method, grinding method andsaturated aqueous solution method, and detect inclusion effect respectively by polarized light microscopy observation method and TG-DTA analysis method. Results Polarized lightphenomenon disappears under a microscope for the three inclusion preparation products, and TG-DTA curve of ultrasound method is superior to that of saturated aqueous solution method and grinding method. Conclusion Polarized light microscope observation method and TG-DTA method enjoysa good effect in determination of cyclodextrin inclusion, which provides a new method for determination of cyclodextrin inclusion results.

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to establish a method for sensorial color digitalization of Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) with the application of spectrocolorimeter. The discussion was focused on difficulties of distinguishing surface and section color of CHMs. Based on uniform color space system of CIE1976L*a*b*, two methods for determination of section and surface color were constructed with two different kinds of spectrocolorimeters taking Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma as the experimental objective. In this paper, different kinds of sample preparation methods were used. Based on results, the method of scraping and grinding was proposed to prepare samples for section color determination. The method of wet pressing and peeling was proposed to prepare samples for surface color determination. Besides, RSD and dE*ab were served as evaluation indexes. This paper provided a simple, rapid and reliable analysis method for the color determination of CHMs. It also gave insight to future research on digitalization and modernization of CHMs' organoleptic characteristics based on traditional macroscopic identification.
