ABSTRACT

A visualized, rapid, simple method was developed based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) to detect Vibrio splendidus in aquatic products and aquaculture waters. TakingVibrio splendidus as the research object, and the toxR gene of Vibrio splendidus as the target gene, the boiling method was determined as a fast method suitable for the genomic DNA extraction of Vibriosplendidus. The optimized and screened primers could specifically detect Vibrio splendidus, and the sensitivity of nucleic acid concentration detection could reach 10

ABSTRACT

The leading cause of death in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients is infection. The objective of this study was to evaluate the distribution of lymphocyte subsets in untreated SLE patients with infections. This was a cross-sectional study. Data from January 2017 to May 2018 were collected. Flow cytometry was used to measure the peripheral lymphocyte subsets including CD3+T cells, CD4+T cells, CD8+T cells, CD19+B cells, CD3-CD16+CD56NK cells, and CD3+CD16+CD56NKT cells in 25 healthy controls and 52 treatment-naive SLE patients, among whom 13 were complicated with infections. Association between the lymphocyte subsets and infections was further analyzed. SLE patients with infections (n=13) showed a significantly higher incidence rate of fever (84.6 vs 28.2%) and serositis (84.6 vs 23.1%), increased level of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (60.5±30.1 vs 37.4±27.1 mm/h), serum C-reactive protein (CRP) (102.7±94.9 vs 9.4±14.9 mg/L), procalcitonin (PCT) (1.07±0.08 vs 0.16±0.13 μg/L), and lower blood hemoglobin (Hb) (93.0±20.5 vs 110.4±16.0 g/L) level compared with non-infection patients (n=39) (all P<0.05). In comparison with non-infectious SLE patients (387.9±261.6/μL), CD4+T cells count decreased significantly in infectious SLE patients (217.8±150.4/μL) (P<0.05), and it was negatively correlated with infection-related indicators including PCT (r=−0.573, P=0.041) and CRP (r=−0.596, P=0.032) levels. Our findings suggested that abnormalities of peripheral lymphocyte subsets were related to the immune disorder of lupus itself, regardless of immunosuppressive treatment. Monitoring lymphocyte subsets, especially CD4+T cells, may be helpful for identifying the presence of infection in SLE patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinic effect of abdominal needling (AN) on post-cardiosurgical operational gastrointestinal dysfunction.

METHODSSixty patients were equally assigned to two groups, the AN group and the control group. AN applied on the AN group was conducted by needling at Xiawan (Ren 10), Qihai (Ren 6), Qipang, Guanyuan (Ren 4), Qixue, Shuifen (Ren 9), Tianshu (St. 25) and Daju (St. 27), starting from the first day after operation, once every day with the needle retained time of 20 min, 5 days as one therapeutic course. The control group was treated with the conventional post-operational measurement with intravenous injection of 20 mg Omeprazole once a day, for 3 successive days. The score on symptoms as anorexia, weakness, abdominal distension, constipation, laziness to speak, nausea and vomiting, weakened borborygmus, pale-yellow complexion and edema, etc. , were observed.

RESULTSThe symptom scores in the aspects of anorexia, weakness, abdominal distension, constipation, weakened borborygmus, nausea and vomiting in the AN group were significant difference when compared with before treatment and the control group (P <0.01). After treatment the improvement in the control group only showed in weakness and pale-yellow complexion (P <0.01). Observation on gastric emptying showed that 24 h gastric paresis occurred in 17 patients (56.7%) of the AN group, and 22 (73.3%) of the control group; the 24 h and 72 h barium residue (strip) in the AN group was 10.60 +/- 4.61 and 8.53 +/- 4.08 respectively, while in the control group 17.07 +/- 3.99 and 15.83 +/- 4.19; the 24 h, 72 h gastric emptying rate in the former was (47.00 +/- 23.07) % and (57.33 +/- 20.37) %, and in the latter (14.67 +/- 19.95) % and (20.83 +/- 20.97) %, all showed significant difference between them (P <0.05 or P <0.01). Levels of motilin in the two groups after operation were decreased showing significant difference in comparison with before operation (P < 0.01), and AN group was raised after teratment, also showing significant difference between groups (P <0.01).

CONCLUSIONAN can strengthen gastrointestinal peristalsis, promote gastrointestinal emptying, recover quickly gastrointestinal hormone to the normal range. Besides, it is safe and effective, with no pain or only slight pain, easy in locating the acupoint accurately, standard prescription, high compliance of patients, and convenient for clinical operating, therefore, it is worthy of spreading in clinical practice.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the clinical characteristics of human bocavirus (HBoV) among children and to understand the association of HBoV with human diseases.

METHODTotally 148 nasopharyngeal aspirate (NPA) samples were collect from hospitalized children with acute respiratory infection during Oct. 2005 to Feb. 2006. Two serum samples were obtained from HBoV positive patients. PCR was used to assay all these samples and PCR products were sequenced.

RESULTHBoV was positive in 11 of 148 NPA samples. The positive rate was 7.4 percent. The serum samples of HBoV infected patients showed that serum contained HBoV by PCR assay. All these HBoV positive patients had the clinical symptoms of bronchitis, bronchopneumonia and pneumonia. Some patients had diarrhea.

CONCLUSIONAll patients infected with HBoV had upper and lower respiratory tract infections. HBoV is a probable important pathogen of upper and lower respiratory tract infection. The HBoV could cause viremia. In addition, some HBoV patients had diarrhea. HBoV infection probably could also result in intestinal disease and other related symptoms.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the cause of the blood heat syndrome in psoriasis. Methods: Made the investigation form about information of psoriatic patients through DME method and reference both Chinese and foreign documents, analyzed main component of data by SAS software. Results: The first main component of blood heat syndrome in psoriasis are infection, drinking, dietetic problem, and emotion;the second main component is family history;the third main component is dampness;the forth main component is the allergy to the food;the fifth is outside irritation.Through the corresponding investigation we found that food include hot food, beef, sheep and sea food, emotion problem include over work and stress, dampness include work and living in humid place for long time, outside stimulus meant chemical stimulus. Conclusion: The main cause of the blood heat syndrome in psoriasis are infection, drinking, dietetic problem, and emotion, family history, humidity, allergy to the food and chemical stimulus in order.
