ABSTRACT

Tendon-bone healing is a complex biological process. Multiple signaling pathways are involved in tendon-bone healing, including transforming growth factor-β signaling pathway, bone morphogenetic protein signaling pathway, Wnt signaling pathway, fibroblast growth factor signaling pathway and nuclear transcription factor-κB signaling pathway. This paper summarizes the research status of traditional Chinese medicine regulating related signaling pathways to promote tendon-bone healing. It is found that a variety of traditional Chinese medicine monomers or herbal extracts (such as baicalein, icariin, total flavonoids of Drynaria fortunei, parthenolide, total saponins of Panax notoginseng, etc.) and traditional Chinese medicine compounds (such as Taohong siwu decoction, Liuwei dihuang pill, Xujin jiegu liquid, etc.) can promote bone formation, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, by regulating the above signaling pathways, thereby effectively promoting tendon-bone healing.

ABSTRACT

Based on UPLC-Q-orbitrap-MS and biological network analysis tools, the mechanism of Xihuang Pill in improving hyperplasia of mammary glands was systematically analyzed. The rat model of hyperplasia of mammary glands was established by intramuscular injection of estradiol benzoate and progesterone. LC-MS tissue metabolomics was used to explore the key metabolites and metabolic pathways of Xihuang Pill in improving hyperplasia of mammary glands in rat. The network analysis of the key metabolites regulated by Xihuang Pill was carried out by integrating biological network analysis tools, focusing on the key metabolic pathways, and exploring the potential targets of Xihuang Pill to improve hyperplasia of mammary glands. Compared with the control group, there were significant differences in the content of 49 differential metabolites in the tissues of the model group (P < 0.05). Xihuang Pills could significantly call back 17 metabolites such as L-alanine, threonine, indole-3-carboxylic aldehyde, lysine, arginine, alanylleucine, glycyltyrosine, γ-glutamyl leucine, vitamin B3, serine leucine, threonine leucine, isoleucine glutamic acid, γ-glutamyl tyrosine, decanoyl-L-carnitine, uric acid, leucylleucine, S-adenosyl-methionine. Further network analysis and literature research on the key metabolites regulated by Xihuang Pills showed that the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway may be one of the important pathways for Xihuang Pills to improve hyperplasia of mammary glands. STAT3, MAPK1, EGFR, CASP3, CASP8, PRKCA and JUN in the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway may be potential targets for Xihuang Pills to improve hyperplasia of mammary glands. The animal experiment operations involved in this paper follow the provisions of the Animal Ethics Committee of Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and pass the ethical review of animal experiments (approval number: 2022-705).

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of Xihuang Pills in improving hyperplasia of mammary gland(HMG) in rats based on urine metabolomics using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS). The HMG rat model was established by intramuscular injection of estradiol benzoate solution(0.5 mg·kg~(-1), 25 days) followed by progesterone injection(5 mg·kg~(-1), 5 days). UPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS technology was used to establish the endogenous small-molecule metabolic profiles in urine samples of rats in the blank group, the HMG model group, and Xihuang Pills group. Multivariate statistical analysis was performed for pattern recognition, t test and variable importance in the projection(VIP) were used to screen potential biomarkers. The significantly changed differential metabolites were identified using the online database Human Metabolome Database(HMDB). Metabolic pathway enrichment analysis was conducted using the MetaboAnalyst 5.0 database. The results showed that 90 differential metabolites with significant changes(P<0.05) were identified between the blank group and the HMG model group using the HMDB. Among them, 48 metabolites significantly reverted(P<0.05) after administration of Xihuang Pills, which may be related to the regulatory effect of Xihuang Pills. Thirteen metabolic pathways significantly associated with HMG were identified when the differential metabolites were imported into the MetaboAnalyst 5.0 database, and Xihuang Pills could modulate seven of these pathways. These metabolic pathways mainly involved histidine metabolism, arginine and proline metabolism, β-alanine metabolism, glycine, serine and threonine metabolism, tryptophan metabolism, pyrimidine metabolism, and amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism. This study utilized UPLC-Q-Orbitrap-MS and urine metabolomics technology to analyze the mechanism of Xihuang Pills in improving HMG, laying the foundation for further in-depth research.

ABSTRACT

In recent years, a number of policies have been implemented to strengthen the cultivation of general practitioners in China. However, the development of community-level health professionals is still lagging behind, the development is uneven among regions, the overall number of general practitioners is insufficient, and the quality of medical services needs to be improved. Based on the Shanhai (Mountain and Sea) promotion project, with the close cooperation between the Second Affiliated Hospital and the medical consortium unit Suichang County People′s Hospital, a " Joint Cultivation by Dual-Teachers " model has been applied in training general practitioners for Suichang county community since March 2021. In this article we discuss the optimization and integration of medical and health resources through the outreaching assistance of high-quality personnel, management and system of medical service, to comprehensively upgrade the primary care and the quality of grass-roots general practitioners in remote mountainous areas.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the value of imaging features of extrapancreatic nerve plexus in predicting early postoperative recurrence of ductal adenocarcinoma of pancreatic head. Methods:The clinical, imaging and pathological data of patients with ductal adenocarcinoma of pancreatic head undergoing pancreati-coduodenectomy at the Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Center of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University from January 2014 to April 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 73 patients were included, including 51 males and 22 females, aged (66.1±9.0) years old. The patients were followed up by telephone or outpatient review, who were divided into two groups according to the recurrence within 6 months after surgery: the recurrence group ( n=26) and the non-recurrence group ( n=47). Streaks or soft-tissue densities in the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus, difference in CT values between the portal and arterial phases of the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus, maximum tumor diameter, and regional lymph node enlargement were compared between the two groups. Results:The incidences of streaks or soft-tissue densities showing in the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus were 80.8%(21/26) in the recurrence group and 51.1%(24/47) in the non-recurrence group, respectively. A CT value difference ≥15 HU between the portal and arterial phases of the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus occurred in 50.0%(13/26) patients of the recurrence group and 25.5%(27/47) of the non-recurrence group, respectively. Maximum tumor diameter ≥25 mm were found in 80.8% (21/26) patients of the recurrence group and 57.4% (27/47) of the non-recurrence group, respectively. ≥3 reginal lymph node enlargement showed in 65.4% (17/26) patients of the recurrence group and 31.9% (15/47) of the non-recurrence group, respectively (all P<0.05). The risk of early postoperative recurrence increased in patients with a CT value difference ≥15 HU between the portal and arterial phases of the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus ( OR=3.609, 95% CI: 1.099-11.855), and regional lymph node enlargement ≥ 3 ( OR=4.665, 95% CI: 1.400-15.545) (all P<0.05). And these two independent risk factors were combined to predict early postoperative recurrence of ductal adenocarcinoma of pancreatic head with an area under receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.748, sensitivity of 92.3%, and specificity of 48.9% ( P<0.001). Conclusion:≥ 15 HU CT value difference between the portal and arterial phases of the distribution area of extrapancreatic nerve plexus and ≥ 3 regional lymph node enlargement are independent risk factors for the early postoperative recurrence of pancreatic head ductal adenocarcinoma, which could provide more predictive information preoperatively.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the effect of hyperthermia on the apoptosis and the expression levels of cysteine-containing aspartate-specific protease-3 (Caspase-3) and phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-AKT) in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma cells. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 30 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma who were treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from October, 2021 to October, 2022. Three times of hyperthermia were performed with a time interval of 24 h. The tumor tissue samples were collected from 30 patients before and after hyperthermia and divided into before hyperthermia group (group A ) and after hyperthermia group (group B). Self-control study mode was adopted for comrparative analysis. The cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL assay. The expression levels of Caspase-3 and p-AKT in the tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. Positive cell ratio and immunohistochemistry (IHC) score were recorded. Comparison between two groups was performed by paired t-test. The correlation between the degree of apoptosis and the changes of Caspase-3 and p-AKT molecules was assessed by Pearson correlation analysis. Results:No evident adverse reactions were observed in 30 patients after hyperthermia. The apoptosis index of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma cells in group A was 2.37%±1.33%, and 4.27%±3.93% in group B ( P=0.006). In group A, the ratio of Caspase-3 positive cells in tumor tissues was 62.31%±19.49% and 80.79%±17.15% in group B ( P=0.001). The ratio of p-AKT positive cells in group A was 31.26%±19.30%, and 26.26%±15.86% in group B ( P=0.023). There was a positive correlation between the degree of apoptosis and the changes of Caspase-3 molecule ( r=0.544, P=0.002), but a negative correlation was noted between the degree of apoptosis and the changes of p-AKT molecule ( r=-0.434, P=0.017). Conclusion:Hyperthermia can promote the apoptosis of tumor cells in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, which may be related to Caspase-3 dependent apoptosis, and the inhibition of AKT phosphorylation is also involved in this process.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the relationship between hematological and genotype characteristics of fetuses and patients with hemoglobin (Hb) H disease and their natural disease progression. Methods:From 2010 to 2022, a total of 1 252 blood samples from fetuses and patients with Hb H disease who visited the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Maternal and Child Health Hospital were collected (including 174 umbilical cord blood samples, 1 062 peripheral blood samples from patients over 2 years old, and 16 peripheral blood samples from patients with rare cases of genotype Hb H). Additionally, 278 peripheral blood samples were collected from patients aged 0 - 2 years old with Hb H 3.7, Hb H 4.2, Hb H CS, and Hb H WS disease for the study of trends in red blood cell development. Multiple probe hybridization and microarray comparative genomic hybridization technology combined with first-generation Sanger sequencing were used for rare mutation detection. Results:Among the 1 062 Hb H disease patients over 2 years old, 62.34% (662/1 062) had gene deletion (--/-α), of which Hb H 3.7 (-- SEA/-α 3.7) and Hb H 4.2 (-- SEA/-α 4.2) were the most common, accounting for 42.28% (449/1 062) and 19.11% (203/1 062) of the total, respectively. Among the non-deletion genotypes (--/αα T or α Tα/αα T), Hb H CS (-- SEA/α CS), Hb H WS (-- SEA/α WS) and α CSα/α CSα accounted for 16.85% (179/1 062), 16.48% (175/1 062) and 1.98% (21/1 062), respectively. The 81.12% (537/662) of patients with deletional Hb H disease showed mild to moderate anemia, with Hb H detection rates ranging from 75% to 80%. Among non-deletional Hb H disease, Hb H WS disease showed the mild (blood Hb concentration > 95 g/L in 90% of patients) phenotype while Hb H CS and Hb H QS (-- SEA/αα QS) patients had moderate to severe anemia, with Hb H detected in peripheral blood at higher levels than in other types of Hb H disease patients. Except for Hb H CS and Hb H QS, which did not show a significant increase in Hb A2 levels when complicated with β-thalassemia, Hb A2 levels were increased (> 3.5%) in all other types of Hb H disease patients. When Hb H disease was complicated with β-thalassemia, Hb H peaks were not detected in either type of Hb H disease. The results of red blood cell development trend detection showed that erythrocyte counts were elevated in patients with Hb H disease compared to their normal counterparts; whereas, blood Hb, mean erythrocyte volume (MCV) and mean erythrocyte hemoglobin content (MCH) were lower than in their normal counterparts ( P < 0.05) and decreased to the minimum at 6 months to 1 year of age. Patients with Hb H CS disease, as the most severe form of anemia, had the highest MCV values ( P < 0.001). The results of fetal cord blood with Hb H disease showed that α CSα/α CSα caused severe intrauterine anemia, followed by Hb H QS and Hb H CS. The content of Hb Bart's in umbilical cord blood was negatively correlated with the severity of anemia ( rs = - 0.58, P < 0.001). When Hb H disease was complicated with β-thalassemia, there was no significant improvement in fetal anemia, and the Hb Bart's content did not change significantly ( P > 0.05). In addition, Hb H 21.9 (-α 21.9kb/-- SEA) and Hb H 2.4 (-α 2.4/-- SEA) were common in patients with deletion rare Hb H. In patients with non-deletion rare Hb H, αα Amsterdam-A1/-- SEA and αα Hb G-Georgia/-- SEA were both first reported. Conclusions:There is heterogeneity in clinical manifestations of patients with different types of Hb H disease or same type of Hb H disease at different developmental stages. When patients with Hb H are complicated with β-thalassemia, the phenotype of patients with the deletion type is improved, while that of patients with the non-deletion type is not. Compared to normal individuals, patients with Hb H disease have lower blood Hb concentration, MCV and MCH, and more rapid physiological changes in red blood cells.

ABSTRACT

There are still many existing problems in the training of medical undergraduates and microsurgery talents in China, such as lack of scientific research ability and scientific literacy of medical undergraduates, insufficient practical ability, short of scientific research opportunities for medical undergraduates, and inadequate talent reserve in microsurgery. In view of the above shortcomings, Wannan Medical College has established a training course on microneurosurgery technology for medical undergraduates, and made a preliminary exploration to solve the above problems. Through the training, undergraduates not only improve their practical ability, but also stimulate their interest in microsurgery, which will help them adapt to clinical and scientific research work at an early stage. Neurosurgical microscopic technology training with emphasis on extracurricular expansion as main content, plays an important role in the cultivation of undergraduate microscopic skills, the establishment of basic theories of neurosurgery, the improvement of scientific research accomplishment and the expansion of extracurricular vision.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the application value of manual anastomosis of gastro-duodenum in totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy. Methods:The retrospective cohort study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 55 patients with gastric cancer who underwent totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy combined with gastrointestinal anastomosis in the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital from January 2020 to October 2022 were collected. There were 34 males and 21 females, aged 61(range, 29?75)years. Of 55 patients, 25 patients undergoing manual anastomosis of gastroduodenum were divided into the manual anastomosis group, 30 patients undergoing modified Delta anastomosis of gastroduodenum were divided into the modified Delta anastomosis group. Observation indicators: (1) surgical situations; (2) postoperative complications. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD, and comparison between groups was conducted using the t test. Measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M(range). Count data were described as absolute numbers, and comparison between groups was conducted using chi-square test or Fisher exact probility. Results:(1) Surgical situations. All 55 patients underwent surgery successfully, without conversion to laparotomy. The distance from the superior margin of tumor to the upper margin, anastomosis time, number of bookings used were (48±4)mm, (22.6±2.3)minutes, 3.2±0.5 in the manual anastomosis group, versus (41±4)mm, (14.0±1.4)minutes, 5.2±0.4 in the modified Delta anastomosis group, showing significant differences in the above indicators between the two groups ( t=5.04, 16.38, ?17.13, P<0.05). The location of tumor (antrum, gastric angle) was 18, 7 in the manual anastomosis group, versus 29, 1 in the modified Delta anastomosis group, showing a significant difference between the two groups ( P<0.05). (2) Postoperative complications. There was no patient undergoing anastomotic fistula in both of manual anastomosis group and modified Delta anastomosis group, and there was 1 patient undergoing anastomotic stenosis in the modified Delta anastomosis group. Conclusion:Compared with modi-fied Delta anastomosis of gastroduodenum, totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy with manual anas-tomosis of gastroduodenum can remove more gastric tissue, and decrease the number of bookings used.

ABSTRACT

Aim To explore the role and mechanism of nuclear receptor subfamily 1,group D,member 1(NR1D1)in the proliferation and migration of mouse adventitial fibroblasts(AFs). Methods Primary AFs isolated from C57BL/6J mice were cultured. Adenovirus carrying Nr1d1 gene was used to overexpress NR1D1 in AFs. The expression of β-catenin was restored by SKL2001. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen(Ki-67)immunofluorescence staining and CCK-8 staining were used to determine cell proliferation, and scratch test was used to determine cell migration. qPCR was used to determine the mRNA level of Nr1d1. Western blot was used to determine the protein levels of NR1D1 and β-catenin. To investigate the role of NR1D1 in intimal hyperplasia,20 male wild type C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into sham group, carotid artery endothelial injury,sham+SR9009(NR1D1 agonist)group and carotid artery endothelial injury+SR9009(n=5 in each group). They were treated with DMSO or SR9009(100 mg·kg-1·d-1)via intraperitoneal injection for 14 days after operation, respectively. The degree of carotid intimal hyperplasia was measured by HE staining 28 days after operation. Results NR1D1 overexpression significantly reduced the percentage of Ki-67-positive cells(P<0.01),total cell number(P<0.01)and slowed down the rate of wound-healing(P<0.01). NR1D1 overexpression significantly inhibited the expression of β-catenin(P<0.05). After the expression of β-catenin was restored by SKL2001,the inhibitory effects of NR1D1 overexpression on the proliferation and migration of AFs were abolished(P<0.01). Enhanced activity of NR1D1 significantly ameliorated intimal hyperplasia after carotid endothelial injury(P<0.01). Conclusion NR1D1 may inhibit the proliferation and migration of AFs via suppressing the expression of β-catenin.

ABSTRACT

Aim To study the effect of human urinary kallidinogenase(HUK)on the cognitive function of SAMP8 mouse model and its mechanism. Methods SAMP8 mice were divided intofive groups:SAMP8 group, treatment group(giving 8.75×10-3,1.75×10-2,3.5×10-2,7.0×10-2 HUK),and the SAMR1 vehicle group was used as blank control. Each group was performed Morris water maze to detect spatial cognition. Afterwards the group with the most obvious cognitive improvement(HUK group)was selected for the follow-up experiments. Immunohistochemical detection of ChAT expression in CA3 area was further verified by RtPCR. Western blot was used to detect the expression of PSD95,SYN,BDNF,and pCREB protein. The activity of MPO and the content of IL-1β and IL-18 were determined. Results The passing times in the SAMP8 group was less than that of the SAMR1 group(P<0.05). The passing times of treatment group increased compared with the SAMP8 group(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and the spatial probe time of the target quadrant was shorter(P<0.05 or P<0.01). We conducted follow-up experiments with group d(HUK group). The expression of ChAT positive cells in CA3 area of SAMP8 group was significantly lower than that of SAMR1 group; the expression of positive cells in HUK group significantly increased; RtPCR showed that ChAT expression in SAMP8 group was lower than that in SAMR1 group, and ChAT expression was significantly higher than that in SAMP8 group after HUK treatment. Compared with the SAMR1 group, the levels of IL-1β,IL-18 and MPO activity in the CA3 area of SAMP8 group significantly increased, and the protein expressions of PSD95,SYN,BNDF and pCREB decreased. After HUK treatment, the content of IL-1β,IL-18 and MPO activity decreased, and the expression of PSD95,SYN,BNDF and pCREB increased. Conclusions HUK can improve the spatial cognition of SAMP8 mice. The mechanism may be achieved by promoting the expression of ChAT in CA3 area, reducing the oxidative stress and increasing synapse-related proteins.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the prognostic factors of extracellular NK/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL) treated with pegaspargase/L-asparaginase. Methods: The clinical data of 656 ENKTL patients diagnosed at 11 medical centers in the Huaihai Lymphoma Working Group from March 2014 to April 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were randomly divided into two groups: a training set (460 cases) and a validation set (196 cases) at 7∶3, and the prognostic factors of the patients were analyzed. A prognostic scoring system was established, and the predictive performance of different models was compared. Results: Patients' median age was 46 (34, 57) years, with 456 males (69.5% ) and 561 nasal involvement (85.5% ). 203 patients (30.9% ) received a chemotherapy regimen based on L-asparaginase combined with anthracyclines, and the 5-year overall survival rate of patients treated with P-GEMOX regimen (pegaspargase+gemcitabine+oxaliplatin) was better than those treated with SMILE regimen (methotrexate+dexamethasone+cyclophosphamide+L-asparaginase+etoposide) (85.9% vs 63.8% ; P=0.004). The results of multivariate analysis showed that gender, CA stage, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) score, HGB, and EB virus DNA were independent influencing factors for the prognosis of ENKTL patients (P<0.05). In this study, the predictive performance of the prognostic factors is superior to the international prognostic index, Korean prognostic index, and prognostic index of natural killer lymphoma. Conclusion: Gender, CA stage, ECOG PS score, HGB, and EB virus DNA are prognostic factors for ENKTL patients treated with pegaspargase/L-asparaginase.

ABSTRACT

The optimal protocol for neuromodulation by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) remains unclear. Using the rotarod paradigm, we found that mouse motor learning was enhanced by anodal tDCS (3.2 mA/cm2) during but not before or after the performance of a task. Dual-task experiments showed that motor learning enhancement was specific to the task accompanied by anodal tDCS. Studies using a mouse model of stroke induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion showed that concurrent anodal tDCS restored motor learning capability in a task-specific manner. Transcranial in vivo Ca2+ imaging further showed that anodal tDCS elevated and cathodal tDCS suppressed neuronal activity in the primary motor cortex (M1). Anodal tDCS specifically promoted the activity of task-related M1 neurons during task performance, suggesting that elevated Hebbian synaptic potentiation in task-activated circuits accounts for the motor learning enhancement. Thus, application of tDCS concurrent with the targeted behavioral dysfunction could be an effective approach to treating brain disorders.

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the optimal dosage and intervention duration of reserpine to establish a rat model of hypotension. Methods According to the body weight and systolic blood pressure (SBP),60 male Wistar rats were assigned to six groups (n=10),including a control group and five observation groups with different doses. The control group was administrated with 10 ml/kg 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose solution, and the observation groups with 0.016,0.032,0.064,0.128,and 0.160 mg/kg reserpine suspensions, respectively. All the groups were administrated by gavage twice a day,and the body weights of rats were monitored daily.SBP and heart rate (HR) were measured before modeling and 1-6 weeks after administration. After 6 weeks of administration, the blood samples of inner canthus were collected. The levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),creatine kinase MB isoenzyme (CK-MB),alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST),serum creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured by an autoanalyzer.Three rats in each group were randomly selected for observation of the changes in SBP after drug withdrawal and the rest rats were sacrificed for measurement of the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain. Results Compared with the control group, different doses of reserpine lowered the SBP of rats (F=28.492,P<0.001).The decline in SBP increased in a concentration-dependent manner.SBP reached the lowest value after 1 week, rose slightly later, and was stable after 3 weeks of administration. There was no significant difference in SBP between 0.016 mg/kg reserpine group and the control group after the 5th week (P>0.05).The SBP levels of rats in 0.032,0.064,0.128,and 0.160 mg/kg reserpine groups showed no significant difference between each other (P=0.204) and were lower than that in the control group (all P<0.001).One week after drug withdrawal, the SBP of rats in the observation groups rose to the baseline level and remained stable.HR showed similar changes among groups, first increasing and then decreasing. There was no significant difference in HR among different groups at the same time point (F=0.922,P=0.475).Compared with the control group, reserpine of different doses reduced the norepinephrine content in the hippocampus (all P<0.001),and 0.128 mg/kg (P=0.045) and 0.160 mg/kg (P=0.042) reserpine lowered the dopamine level in the striatum, which showed no significant differences between different reserpine groups(P=0.343,P=0.301).The levels of LDH,CK-MB,and BUN in the serum increased with the increase in reserpine concentration, and the levels of LDH (P=0.001),CK-MB (P=0.020),AST (P=0.007),and BUN (P=0.001) in the 0.160 mg/kg reserpine group were significantly different from those in the control group. Conclusions The rat model of hypotension can be induced by gavage with reserpine. The gavage with reserpine at a dose of 0.032 mg/kg,twice a day for three consecutive weeks is the optimal scheme for the modeling. After the model establishment, continuous administration is essential to maintain the hypotension.
