ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the compliance and influencing factors of patients with mental disorders complicated with diabetes treatment in a third-class general hospital of Nantong City, and to provide theoretical basis for improving the compliance of patients with mental disorders complicated with diabetes treatment. Methods Among of 148 patients with mental disorders combined with diabetes admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected and divided into poor compliance group and good compliance group according to the investigation of diabetes treatment compliance. The blood glucose control of the two groups was compared, and clinical data of patients were collected from the medical record system. The independent risk factors affecting the compliance of patients with mental disorders and diabetes were analyzed. Results The levels of FBG, PBG and HbA1c in poor compliance group were significantly lower than those in good compliance group (P<0.05). The results showed that poor cognition of the disease (OR=2.649), paranoid psychosis (OR=0.371), low self-awareness and attitude score (OR=0.618), poor blood glucose control (OR=2.914) were independent risk factors affecting the compliance of patients with mental disorders and diabetes mellitus (P<0.05). Conclusion The compliance of patients with mental disorders combined with diabetes in the treatment of diabetes is not high and the control of blood sugar is not good. Mental health service outlets should be added to actively control the blood sugar of patients, focusing on paranoid mental patients and strengthening the publicity and education of guardians, which can improve the treatment compliance of patients and contribute to the prognosis of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the risk factors and prognosis of the patients with malignant solid tumors complicated with the disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Methods The clinical data of 54 malignant solid tumors patients complicated with DIC in Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital from January 2004 to December 2014 were analyzed retrospectively, which were compared with the malignant tumor patients without DIC. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore the risk factors of solid tumor complicated with DIC, and the effect of concurrent DIC on the prognosis of patients was analyzed. Results Multiple factor analysis showed that advanced tumor (OR = 0.252, P = 0.019), concurrent hypoproteinemia(OR=0.119,P=0.005),concurrent infection(OR=0.122,P=0.003)were the independent risk factors of the malignant solid tumor patients complicated with DIC. The case fatality rate of the patients with DIC was 85.2 % (46/54), which was higher than that of the control group (7.4 %, 4/54), and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=65.69,P <0.001).Conclusion Early detection of malignant solid tumors, positive correction of hypoproteinemia, and the effective control of infection as soon as possible can help to prevent the occurrence of DIC and reduce the death caused by DIC.

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the risk factors for coronary artery lesions (CALs) in patients with Kawasaki disease (KD).Methods The clinical records of 2331 patients with KD from January 2005 to December 2014 in Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. The relationship between the following factors and CALs was analyzed by univariate and multivariable Logistic regression analysis:age, gender, incomplete KD,total fever duration, intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG) treatment resistance, white blood cell count,C-reactive protein (CRP),platelet count, sodium and albumin. Results The incidence of CALs was 36.0%(840/2331 cases).Univariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that male patients, incomplete KD,total fever duration ≥10days,IVIG treatment resistance,CRP>100mg/L,platelet count>300×109/L and albumin<35 g/L were associated with CALs (all P<0.05).Multivariable Logistic regression analysis identified that male patients (OR=1.698,95% CI 1.383-2.084,P<0.001),incomplete KD (OR=2.730,95% CI 2.121-3.515,P<0.001),total fever duration ≥10 days (OR=2.556,95% CI 1.975-3.307,P<0.001),CRP>100 mg/L (OR=1.556,95% CI 1.274-1.900,P<0.001) and albumin<35 g/L (OR=1.665,95% CI 1.323-2.096,P<0.001) were the independent risk factors for CALs.Conclusions The main damage in patients with KD is CALs.The male children with KD,incomplete KD,total fever duration ≥10 days,CRP>100 mg/L and albumin<35 g/L were prone to CALs.

ABSTRACT

The BCCIP (BRCA2- and CDKN1A-interacting protein) is an important cofactor for BRCA2 in tumor suppression. Although the low expression of BCCIP is observed in multiple clinically diagnosed primary tumor tissues such as ovarian cancer, renal cell carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma, the mechanism of how BCCIP is regulated in cells is still unclear. The human INO80/YY1 chromatin remodeling complex composed of 15 subunits catalyzes ATP-dependent sliding of nucleosomes along DNA. Here, we first report that BCCIP is a novel target gene of the INO80/YY1 complex by presenting a series of experimental evidence. Gene expression studies combined with siRNA knockdown data locked candidate genes including BCCIP of the INO80/YY1 complex. Silencing or over-expressing the subunits of the INO80/YY1 complex regulates the expression level of BCCIP both in mRNA and proteins in cells. Also, the functions of INO80/YY1 complex in regulating the transactivation of BCCIP were confirmed by luciferase reporter assays. Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) experiments clarify the enrichment of INO80 and YY1 at +0.17 kb downstream of the BCCIP transcriptional start site. However, this enrichment is significantly inhibited by either knocking down INO80 or YY1, suggesting the existence of both INO80 and YY1 is required for recruiting the INO80/YY1 complex to BCCIP promoter region. Our findings strongly indicate that BCCIP is a potential target gene of the INO80/YY1 complex.

ABSTRACT

@#The establishment of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells is considered as one of the most important progresses in science and technology nowadays. In recent years, the iPS cells have been used in the construction of cellular model for hereditary heart disease, and the successful treatment in animal model of myocardial infarction, which brings a bright future for exploring the pathogenesis and therapy of hereditary heart disease.

ABSTRACT

The expression of musclin gene in skeletal muscle of rats fed with high-fat diet and its correlation to insulin resistance.diabetes mellitus and GLUT4 were explored. The results showed that musclin expressin was up-regulated(1.39±0.36 vs 0.31±0.07,P<0.01)in skeletal muscle of rats fed with high-fat diet, suggesting that this finding may be related with insulin resistance and involvement of GLUT-4 expression(1.27 4± 0.32 vs 1.84±0.24.P<0.01).
