ABSTRACT

Atypical choroid plexus papilloma is classified as WHO (World Health Organization) Grade II subtype of choroid plexus tumor, and it has intermediate pathological features, prognosis, and clinical outcome rates between choroid plexus papilloma and choroid plexus carcinoma. These tumors are more common in children compared with adults and are usually located in the lateral ventricles. We present a case of an adult with atypical choroid plexus papilloma located in the infratentorial region. A 41?year?old woman underwent evaluation for headache and dull aching neck pain. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain revealed a well?defined intraventricular mass lesion in the fourth ventricle and foramen of Luschka. She underwent craniotomy and gross total excision of the lesion. Histopathological and immunohistochemical findings confirmed the diagnosis of atypical choroid plexus papilloma (WHO Grade II). We discuss the various treatment options for this condition and review the relevant literature.

ABSTRACT

Low‑grade papillary adenocarcinomas with expression of thyroid transcription factor‑1 (TTF‑1) are rare tumors of the nasopharynx, with only a few cases reported in the literature. These tumors have an excellent prognosis following complete surgical excision. We report a 13‑year‑old boy with this rare tumor in the nasopharynx. The patient underwent complete surgical excision of the tumor and was on follow‑up without evidence of recurrence.

ABSTRACT

Melanomas arising in the skin, mucous membranes, and eye are encountered commonly than melanomas involving the breast. Melanomas in the breast are usually metastatic. Primary melanoma of the breast is extremely rare. We report a case of malignant melanoma of breast (primary/metastatic) that presented as a breast lump in a patient with no detectable cutaneous, mucosal or ocular lesion and who is a known case of squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and had relapsed twice. The unexpected challenges faced during the diagnosis prompted us to report this case.

ABSTRACT

The simultaneous occurrence of two primary tumors in one patient is not uncommon, but one tumor metastasizing to another malignancy is a rare phenomenon. Tumor-to-tumor metastasis was first described by Berent in 1902. Since then fewer than 200 cases have been reported in the literature. In most of these cases renal cell carcinoma acted as a recipient tumor. In tumor-to-tumor metastasis renal cell carcinoma acting as a donor is exceedingly rare and there are no reported cases of adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction acting as a recipient. We present a case of renal cell carcinoma metastasizing to an adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of such a combination.

ABSTRACT

Skin cancer developing after treatment for psoriasis is seen more often than expected, however, there has been no report of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma developing in a case of untreated psoriasis. Here, a case has been reported where an untreated psoriasis lesion progressed on to develop squamous cell carcinoma, with a brief review of literature.
