ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of conventional western medication and joss stick moxibustion combined with pricking and cupping for herpes zoster in acute stage, and to explore its analgesic mechanism.

METHODSSeventy patients with acute herpes zoster were randomized into an observation group (33 cases after 2 dropping) and a control group (34 cases after 1 dropping). Patients in the observation group were treated with joss stick moxibustion combined with pricking and cupping at localpoints for 7 times, once every other day. Oral acyclovir, vitamin Band mecobalamin tablets were applied in the control group for continuous 14 days, and interferon injection was used for continuous 6 days, etc. The herpes evaluation indexes of blister stopping time, scab time and decrustation time as well as pain intensity were observed before and after treatment. Peripheral serum substance P (SP) content of herpes local situation was detected. The comprehensive effects were evaluated.

RESULTSThe blister stopping time, scab time and decrustation time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (all<0.05). There was no statistical significance for pain relief degree between the two groups (>0.05). The pain beginning to ease time and duration time in the observation group were better than those in the control group (both<0.05). The contents of SP in the two groups decreased after treatment (both<0.01), and it was better in the observation group (<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group after treatment was 87.9% (29/33), and that of the control group was 85.3% (29/34), which were not statistically significant (>0.05). The cured rate of the observation group was better than that of the control group [66.7% (22/33) vs 58.8% (20/34),<0.05].

CONCLUSIONJoss stick moxibustion combined with pricking and cupping are effective for herpes zoster, which have quicker and good analgesic effects than conventional western medication. Its mechanism may be related to reducing the content of SP more fast and to a larger degree.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the association of three polymorphisms in Megsin (rs1055901,rs1055902 and rs2689399) and susceptibility of IgA nephropathy in Asian population. Methods We conducted a comprehensive search of electronic CNKI,VIP,WangFang Data,CBM,Pubmed,Web of Science and Google Scholar database on the association between Megsin rs1055901,rs1055902 and rs2689399 polymorphism and susceptibility of IgA nephrology in Asian population (last search update on 2 May 2016).Stata 12.0 software was used to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95 % CI (confidence interval),as well as sensitivity and publication bias analyses. Results Six publications encompassing mine case-control studies were finally included, including 2 179 cases and 1 769 controls. Finally,no significant association between Megsin rs1055901 and rs1055902 polymorphism and IgA nephrology in Asian population was identified, while a significantly decreased risk of IgA nephrology for rs2689399 polymorphism, was identified in Asian population (G and C:OR=0.754,95%CI 0.592-0.961,P=0.022;GG and CC:OR=0.506,95%CI 0.287-0.892,P=0.019;GG and GC+CC:OR=0.551,95%CI 0.316-0.961,P=0.036).Conclusion Rs2689399 G allele and GG genotype of Megsin may be the protective factors for IgA nephropathy in Asian population.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence of 16S rRNA methylase genes, aminoglycoside modifying enzymes (AMEs) genes and small multidrug resistance efflux pump gene smr-2 in Klebsiella pneumoniae. MethodsTotally 138 Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates were collected in the First Affiliated Hospital, college of medicine, Zhejiang University from January 2007 to December 2009. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and DNA sequencing were performed to screen the presence of six 16S rRNA methylase genes ( rmtA, rmtB, rmtC, rmtD, armA and npmA), seven AMEs genes[aac ( 3 )- Ⅰ , aac ( 3 )- Ⅱ,aac(6′)- Ⅰ b, aac(6′)-Ⅱ, ant(2″)- Ⅰ , ant(3″)- Ⅰ , aph(3′)-Ⅵa]and small multidrug resistance efflux pumps gene (smr-2).Results Thirteen (9. 4%) isolates were found to carry rmtB gene, whereas 87 (63.0%) isolates were found to carry at least one kind of AMEs genes but no smr-2 was detected. The positive rates of aac(3)-Ⅱ, aac(6′)- Ⅰ b, ant (3″)- Ⅰ and ant(2″)- Ⅰ were 40.6% (56/138), 31.9% (44/138), 28.3% (39/138) and 2.2% (3/138), respectively. All strains harboring rmtB gene carried one to three AMEs genes. Among 44 aac(6′)- Ⅰ b positive strains, 37 (84. 1% ) were confirmed to carryaac(6′)- Ⅰ b-cr. ConclusionFor Klebsiella pneumoniae, rmtB is the predominant subtype in 16S rRNA methylase genes, accompanying with several AMEs genes.
