ABSTRACT
O artigo "envelhecimento populacional e a prática da assistência social no Estado do Ceará: uma análise à luz da Política Nacional do Idoso" toma como dado inicial o envelhecimento nacional e no estado do Ceará. Parte-se do pressuposto que esse incremento traz, consequentemente, uma demanda por serviços desenvolvidos a partir da política de assistência social. Política essa estabelecida na Lei n.º 8.842, que trata da Política Nacional do Idoso (PNI). Indagamo-nos sobre o que estava previsto nesse marco legal que foi efetivamente desenvolvido pelo poder público no Estado do Ceará. As ações realizadas mostram-se pífias ante à demanda que se apresenta crescente.
The article, "population aging and the practice of social work in the State of Ceará: an analysis in the light of the national policy for the elderly" takes as given the initial national aging and in the State of Ceará. It is assumed that this increase brings consequently a demand for services developed from the social assistance policy. This policy established in law n.o 8,842, which deals with the National Policy for the elderly-PNI. Ask the US planned in this legal framework that was effectively developed by the Government in the State of Ceará. The actions taken are insignificant compared with the demand that is growing.
