ABSTRACT

Currently, the public’s concern for health has unprecedentedly increased, while some institutions find it difficult to carry out health lectures. Overall, health lectures play an important role, but they face some practical challenges at the operational level, involving lecture objectives, public demands, communication methods, dissemination channels, and foothold methods. In the era of new media, health science popularization lectures are still an effective means of persuasion today, but traditional lecture methods need to be endowed with new connotations, and made shifts and adjustments. Health science popularization lectures should make the following shifts. First, the lecture objectives should turn to "extensive use", stepping out of the limitations of popular science knowledge, and promoting the public to proactively seek health knowledge and information. Second, the lecture content should turn to the integration of physical and mental, designing courses from the perspective of physical and mental, enhancing communication among people, and promoting trust between individuals. Third, the lecture effect should turn to enjoyment, breaking the prejudice against the lecture effect and taking the enjoyment and interest stimulation as the important goal of health science popularization. Fourth, the speaker should turn to "professionalization", establishing a team of professional health lecturers. At the operational level, it is necessary to strictly control the entry and exit of health lecturers to create a lecture brand, segment the audience to organize homogeneous audiences, tell good stories and enhance emotional narration, plan holistically and achieve full-media three-dimensional communication, and scientifically evaluate and emphasize long-term effects.

ABSTRACT

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common chronic liver disease worldwide. Fat accumulation "sensitizes" the liver to insult and leads to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). G protein-coupled receptor 35 (GPR35) is involved in metabolic stresses, but its role in NAFLD is unknown. We report that hepatocyte GPR35 mitigates NASH by regulating hepatic cholesterol homeostasis. Specifically, we found that GPR35 overexpression in hepatocytes protected against high-fat/cholesterol/fructose (HFCF) diet-induced steatohepatitis, whereas loss of GPR35 had the opposite effect. Administration of the GPR35 agonist kynurenic acid (Kyna) suppressed HFCF diet-induced steatohepatitis in mice. Kyna/GPR35 induced expression of StAR-related lipid transfer protein 4 (STARD4) through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway, ultimately resulting in hepatic cholesterol esterification and bile acid synthesis (BAS). The overexpression of STARD4 increased the expression of the BAS rate-limiting enzymes cytochrome P450 family 7 subfamily A member 1 (CYP7A1) and CYP8B1, promoting the conversion of cholesterol to bile acid. The protective effect induced by GPR35 overexpression in hepatocytes disappeared in hepatocyte STARD4-knockdown mice. STARD4 overexpression in hepatocytes reversed the aggravation of HFCF diet-induced steatohepatitis caused by the loss of GPR35 expression in hepatocytes in mice. Our findings indicate that the GPR35-STARD4 axis is a promising therapeutic target for NAFLD.

ABSTRACT

The popularization of healthy lifestyle, enhancement of health education and formation of self-disciplined behaviors are the important agendas for the construction of healthy China.Along with the advancements of behavioral medical science, its achievements are constantly integrated into a series of the actions focusing on improving people's daily life, which are playing an essential role in the enhancement of health literacy and the promotion of forming healthy behaviors and lifestyles among public.Health education and health promotion on behavior change have become a focus to improve the health of Chinese residents.During the time of entering a new stage of development for national health promotion initiative with distinct Chinese characteristics, we should make the theory of behavioral medicine as a guidance of daily life and production activities as soon as possible. Also, the satisfaction of residents' needs for healthy life and the realization of the healthy and harmonious development of human and society should be achieved by improving the natural environment, social environment and health services.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To identify the general public’s perceptions of the overall risk communication strategy carried out by Chinese public health agencies during the first wave of avian influenza A(H7N9) outbreak in humans in 2013. Methods: Participants were recruited from communities in Beijing, Lanzhou and Hangzhou, China in May and June 2013 by convenience sampling. Demographics and other relevant information were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. Focus group interviews were conducted using a set of nine pre-developed questions and a tested moderator guide. The interviews were audio recorded and were transcribed verbatim. The constant comparative method was used to identify trends and themes. Results: A total of nine focus group interviews, with 94 participants recruited from nine communities, were conducted. Most participants received H7N9 information via television and the Internet. A majority of the participants appreciated the transparency and timeliness of the information released by the government. They expressed a sense of trust in the recommended public health advice and followed most of them. The participants suggested that the government release more information about clinical treatment outcomes, have more specific health recommendations that are practical to their settings and expand the use of new media channels for risk communication. Conclusion: The public perceived the overall risk communication strategy by the Chinese public health agencies as effective, though the moderator had a governmental agency title that might have biased the results. There is a need to expand the use of social media for risk communication in the future.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the life quality in front and at the back of the cure of the floating population tuberculosis patients. Methods The SF-36 scale was applied to the new smear-positive pulmonary tuberculosis patient in floating population using face to face interview in Shenzhen 6 districts. The contrast was tuberculosis patient in the population of the household register, the people stayed temporarily in the same term. Results The score of general health(43.36 ± 15.67),vitality(57.96 ± 16.54) and mental health(61.46 ± 14.26) in the floating population was lower than the appraisal result with the population of the household register(49.28 ± 17.85,66.38 ± 17.03 and 66.70 ± 15.12),the people stayed temporarily(45.00 ± 17.22,60.99 ± 16.59 and 63.13 ±13.71 ) (P < 0.05 ).It was still lower than the other two groups after 2 (3) months and 6 (7) months (P < 0.05 ).But the score of social functioning in floating population ( 88.92 ± 14.88 ) was higher than the other two groups (82.62 ± 14.44,68.02 ± 27.30).The change rate of general health ( (76.05 ± 132.82) %,(69.32 ± 111.98 ) %and (48.36 ± 101.31 ) % ) and social functioning scores( (46.49 ± 85.18 ) %,( 26.33 ± 50.25 ) % and ( 51.09±73.44)% ) were significant difference in the three groups(x2 =12.088,P=0.002;x2 =11.611,P=0.003).The change rate of the general health score in floating population was higher than the household register population and people stayed temporarily. Conclusion It is necessary to implement the management in whole course to the floating population tuberculosis patients.
