ABSTRACT

Objective To improve the usage of foam dressing at the sacrococcygeal region and observe its application effect. Methods A total of 80 hospitalized patients with high risk of pressure ulcer were chosen during May to December 2015 as study objects. Patients were drawn into the observation group and the control group, each group contained 40 members. Proper-cutting foam dressings and normal foam dressing were applied in patients by the observation group and the control group individually. Researchers made records by comparing and analyzing the usage time of dressing and the skin intact of two groups. Results The observation group used foam dressing (1.88±0.12) blocks per person, foam dressing use time was (3.87±0.34) d per block, and in the control group, they were (2.60±0.38) blocks per person, (2.13±0.89) d per block, there was significant difference between two groups (t=11.427, 11.551, P<0.05). The skin integrity rate of the observation group and the control group were 95.0%(38/40) and 75.0%(30/40), the difference was statistically significant (χ2=6.275, P<0.05). Conclusions This study shows that the foam dressing need to be cut appropriately before pasting so that the clinical nurses can observe patient's skin conveniently. Once the skin has pressure red, the nurse can take timely measures to deal with it, which can decrease the incidence of pressure sores. The cutting dressing prolongs the period of using without removing the viscose part, which also can reduce the medical expenses.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the early biological parameter changes of blood and immune systems of mice after 60Co γ-ray irradiation in order to find sensitive and reliable biological dose markers for radiation pretreatment of hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.

METHODSPure strain BALB/c male mice were randomly divided into control group and three irradiation groups and absorbed doses of total body irradiation by ⁶⁰Co γ-ray were 0, 2, 4, 6 Gy, respectively. In 24h after irradiation, WBC counts and lymphocyte percentages of peripheral blood were determined by blood cell counting; polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus(mn- PCE) of peripheral blood and bone marrow were observed by microscope after Giemsa staining; apoptosis rates of bone marrow, spleen, thymus cells were assayed by flow cytometry using Annexin Ⅴ and PI double staining.

RESULTSCompared with the control group, WBC counts and lymphocyte percentages of peripheral blood in the irradiated groups significantly decreased with the increase of radiation doses(P<0.01),and their regression equations were E=0.1750D2-1.7440D+5.2020 and E=84.9390-3.4255D respectively. The mn-PCE of peripheral blood and bone marrow in the irradiated groups significantly increased with the increase of radiation doses(P<0.01), bone marrow mn-PCE was positively correlated with the radiation dose with regression equation as E=3.9725D+2.9700. The early apoptosis rates of bone marrow cells, spleen and thymus cells significantly increased with the increase of radiation doses(P<0.01), which were positively correlated with radiation doses, and their regression equations were E=3.42D + 8.36, E=3.0645D + 3.1840 and E=2.5620D + 2.5090 respectively.

CONCLUSIONPeripheral blood lymphocyte count and bone marrow mn-PCE rate were linearly correlated to radiation doses, which could be used as sensitive and reliable early biological markers of the radiation pretreatment recipients, and the doses of the radiation pretreatment recipients could be accurately judged according to their regression equations. The early apoptosis rates of bone marrow, spleen and thymus cells were positive linear correlation with the radiation doses, and their regression equations could be used to judge the degree of inhibition of the immune system for radiation pretreatment recipients.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigated the effects of Ganoderma polysaccthride(GLB7)on protein kinase A(PKA) and protein kinase C(PKC) activitives in murine T cells.METHODS:A new ion-pair reversed-phase high liquid chromatography method was used to determinate the activities of PKA and PKC in T cells.RESULTS:GLB7 could markedly increase the activities of PKA and PKC in murine T cells in a dose-dependent manner. The peak time was at 5 min and 20 min and the activities of PKA and PKC returned to basic level at 20 min and 1.5h respectively.GLB7 could induce translocation of PKC and antagonize the inhibition effect of staurosporine(10μ mol· L-1) on PKC in T cells.CONCLUSION:The immunopotentiating and antitumour effects of Ganoderma polysacchride may be associated with its activation on PKA and PKC in murine T cells.

ABSTRACT

AIM To extend the approach of the act ion of ganoderma polysacchride on intracellular signal events in T cells. METHODS Laser scanning confocal microscope imaging of the calcium and p H fluorescent indicator dye Fluo-3/AM and SNARF-1/AM were used to determine th e kinetic changes of [Ca2+]i and [pH]i in murine T cells induced b y a ganoderma polysacchride, designated GLB7. RESULTS It was fou nd that GLB7(20 mg*L-1) could increase [Ca2+]i and [pH]i at 1 min were 334.7%±16.4%(n=3)、171.6%±10.4%(n=3) respectively. T he increase in [Ca2+]i induced by GLB7 was due to the influx of extr acellular Ca2+ and intracellular Ca2+ release through both IP3-se nsitive and IP3-insensitive Ca2+ stores, and increase in [pH]i indu ced by GLB7 was relative to Na+/H+ exchange systems and [Ca2+]i. GLB 7 did not influence [Ca2+]i and [pH]i in murine T cells induced by Con A(3 mg*L-1). CONCLUSION Stimulation of the increase in [Ca2+]i and [pH]i may be an important channel for gano derma polysacchrides to achieve their pharmacological actions.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of low doses 147Pm internal irradiation against hereditary mutation in mouse cells induced by subsequent high dose of 147Pm irradiation. Methods The frequencies of micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes (mn-PCE) micronucleated normochromatic erythrocytes (mn-NCE) and chromosome aberration in bone marrow and peripheral blood cells were observed. Results The frequencies of nm-PCE、mn-NCE and chromosome aberration induced by high dose of 147Pm irradiation showed a highly significant increase over the control at 24 h after irradiation (P<0.05 or 0.01).However, the frequencies in cells pre-exposed to 0.37-37 Bq/g of 147Pm were decreased significantly (P<0.05 or 0.01),as compared with those of the group without pre-exposure. Conclusion Low doses of in vivo 147Pm β-irradiation can induce a radioadaptive response of the lymphocytes and erythroblasts. The induction of the adaptive response has a wide dose range. The mn-PCE and mn-NCE are more sensitive indexes for revealing biological effects of radiation as compared with the chromosome aberration.

ABSTRACT

The accomplishment of voluntary active euthanasia must involve the concept of "the other".The whole autonomy is an Abstract theoretical principle, which meets logic difficulty in real practice."The other" limits autonomy on the attitude towards life, family relationship, social relationship, physicians, and so on,which is also the practical basis for the accomplishment of euthanasia. When an individual chooses the will of performing euthanasia,he or she should abide by the principles of respect, communion and autonomy. These principles should also be followed in the future legislation of euthanasia.

ABSTRACT

This paper reports the observation on the distribution of succinic dehydrogenase of the cochlea in normal guinea pig. The method we adopted is as follows: The temporal bone was rapidly removed and the apical portion of the cochlea and the round window were perforated after decapitation under the temperature at 0? to 4℃. Incubation solution was infused into the apical portion of the cochlea and flowed out through the round window. The above procedure was carried out within 3 min. Then the specimen was put into incubation solution for 30 min at 37 C. The same infusion pathway from apical hole to round window was adopted, to introduce a cold, buffered formol sucrose solution for fixation. After first fixation by infusing, the cochlea in the fixative was subjected to a vacuum system for 20~30 min, and finally put into refrigerator to complete fixation. The specimen was then decalcified in 10 per cent EDTA, and immersed in 10 and 20 per cent gelation successively for embedding. The frozen sections was cut into 15? thick midmodiolar sections in a cryostat. This observation reveals that the inner and outer cell, the cell of spiral ganglion and the stria vascularis showed a very strong enzyme activity, while the tectorial membrane, the basilar membrane and other cells showed no activity. The results obtained and the methods are discussed.
