ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To observe the short-term efficacy and safety of venetoclax combined with homoharringtonine and cytarabine in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). METHODS The data of 40 newly diagnosed AML patients admitted to our hospital from October 2022 to November 2023 were retrospectively collected and divided into observation group and control group according to treatment plan, with 20 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given Daunorubicin hydrochloride for injection+Cytarabine for injection, and the patients in the observation group were given Venetoclax tablets+ Homoharringtonine injection+Cytarabine for injection. The patients in both groups were given relevant medicine, with 28 days as one cycle. The short-term efficacy, negative rate of minimal residual disease (MRD), duration of granulocyte deficiency, duration of platelet (PLT) <20×109 L-1, transfusion volume of suspended red blood cells and platelet, and the occurrence of adverse drug reactions were evaluated in both groups after 1 cycle of induction chemotherapy. RESULTS The complete remission or complete remission with incomplete hematologic recovery (CR/CRi) rate in the observation group was significantly higher than control group (P<0.05), and the negative rate of MRD in the observation group was also significantly higher than control group (P<0.05). However, in low-, medium- and high-risk patients, there was no statistical significance in CR/CRi rates between the two groups (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in the duration of agranulocytosis, the duration of PLT <20×109 L-1, the amount of suspended red blood cell transfusion, the amount of platelet transfusion, the incidence of hematologic toxicity and the incidence of non-hematologic toxicity between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS Venetoclax combined with homoharringtonine and cytarabine show good short-term efficacy and safety in the treatment of AML.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the association of apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene polymorphism in patients with mild cognitive impairment. Methods The patients aged 60-85 years were randomly selected from the outpatient, hospital or community age of Xinjiang Medical University Affiliated Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine in January 2015-June 2016,and cognitive function assessment for the patients.A total of 100 cases of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) patients were selected as case group, and 139 cases with normal cognitive function were the control group. The polymorphism of ApoE gene was analyzed in all patients. The final data were analyzed by Pearson chi square test. Results Compared to the control group, the proportion of genotype T/T in the genotype distribution of rs429358 loci was lower than that of the control group,T/C and C/C were higher than those in the control group,Allele C was a risk factor for MCI disease (OR value =2.100).The epsilon 4 allele was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the epsilon 3 allele was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions The polymorphism of the ApoE gene is associated with the pathogenesis of MCI,in which the ApoE-E4 allele may be a risk gene for MCI.This suggests that the detection of ApoE gene polymorphism may provide useful information for the early diagnosis of MCI.

ABSTRACT

The molecular targeted therapy method using microRNAs(miRNAs)is gradually stepping into people′s vision. miRNAs affect colorectal cancer progress via abnormal expression in tumor cells or micro-environment. The high or low expressions of miRNAs in specific tissues probably have an impact on the expressions of oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes or other aspects including the surrounding environments, the metastases and the drug tolerance of tumors, thus contributing to curing the colorectal cancer. Nowadays, miRNA has entered the stage of animal experiments.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influence of chronic pain on the sleep quality in the patients with Parkinson′s disease (PD) .Methods 232 cases of PD in the neurology department of this hospital from March 2009 to March 2013 were selected and di‐vided into the pain PD group (PPD group ,106 cases) and the non‐pain PD group (NPPD group ,126 cases) according to whether accompanying chronic pain .Contemporaneous 140 individual of healthy physical examination were selected as the control group .The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale (PSQI) and the fatigue scale (FS‐14) were used to judge whether sleep disorders existing . Then the differences in the sleep quality and fatigue condition were compared among three groups .The related factors of sleeping disorders were also analyzed .Results The scores of PSQI and FS‐4 had statistically significant differences among 3 groups (P<0 .05) ,in which the differences in the aspects of sleep latency ,subjective sleep quality ,sleep continuity ,habitual sleep efficiency and sleep disorders also were statistically significant (P<0 .05) .The influencing factors of sleeping disorders were the Hoehn‐Yahr stage (r = -0 .79 ,P<0 .05) ,dopamine dose (r = -0 .38 ,P=0 .04) ,presence of pain (r = -0 .57 ,P<0 .05) and severity of de‐pression (r = -0 .63 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion The PD patients accompanying pain are more susceptible to develop sleep disorders , the sleep quality accompanying pain is worse than that without accompanying pain .Therefore the early intervention should be well conducted in clinic .

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of co-exposure to LPS and heat on plasma tumor necrosis factor-? (TNF-?) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in rats. Methods Eighty male pathogen-free Wistar rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups: saline-injected normothermic control (group C), saline-injected heat exposed (group H), LPS-injected normothermic control (group L), LPS-injected heat exposed (group HL). Rectal temperature (Tr), heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), and respiratory rate (RR) were continually monitored. Plasma levels of TNF-? and IL-6 were determined at 0, 40, 80, 120 min after treatment. Results The rats in group HL displayed significantly higher values of Tr , HR , and RR and lower values of MAP than that of group C at 120 min. There was a significant difference in the values of HR and MAP between group HL and the other 3 groups at the same time point. The rats in group HL displayed an early rise in levels of plasma TNF-?, IL-6 at 40 min. The significant elevation of the peak TNF-? level at 80 min in group HL was observed. Plasma IL-6 hyperexpression was shown in rats in group HL which was significantly higher than the other 3 groups at the same time point. Conclusion Co-exposure to LPS and heat induces the rat to develop and augment systemic inflammatory response syndrome.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effect of co-exposure to LPS and heat on plasma malondialdehyde(MDA) content and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in rats. Methods: Male specific pathogen-free Wistar rats were randomly assigned to the following groups: saline injection+normothermic control(C-Group),saline injection+heat exposure(H-Group),LPS injection+normothermic control(L-Group),and LPS injection+heat exposure(HL-Group).Rats in H-/HL-Group were exposed in a chamber at an ambient dry bulb temperature(Tdb) of(35.0?0.5)℃ and in C-/L-Group at an ambient Tdb of((26.0?)(0.5)℃.)Rats in L-/HL-Group were given an intravenous injection of LPS 10 mg/kg via tail veins to induce endotoxemia and in C-/H-Group were given an intravenous injection of 0.9%NaCl(10 ml/kg) via the tail vein.Mean arterial pressure(MAP) was continually monitored in all rats.Plasma levels of MDA and SOD activity were determined at 0,40,80,120 min after exposure. Results: There was significant difference in plasma MDA levels and activities of SOD between L-/H-/HL-Group and C-Group(P
