ABSTRACT

The red doctor’s spirit is an important spiritual guidance for the cultivation of medical talents during the development of medical and health services in China. The teaching reform, which is oriented towards position competence, requires that students majoring in public health management should not only master solid medical knowledge and professional skills, but also possess an ability to handle medical public relations, such as shaping an excellent image of the organization, improving the medical interpersonal communication, and managing public relations crisis. Under the guidance of inheriting the red gene and innovating the medical education, the driving force of learning should be "serving the people to improve their health" led by "political firmness" , the learning goal "striving for perfection" inspired by "excellent technology" , and the working criterion "respecting patients, involving full participation and shouldering public responsibility" embodied in "making selfless dedication and helping the wounded and dying" . The article based on the characteristic culture of red medicine in the Air Force Medical University, applied the teaching method of role-playing case simulations to explore the teaching practice road of "theory-experience-practice-reflection" .

ABSTRACT

Secondary lymphedema is a chronic progressive disease caused by the obstruction of lymphatic reflux, which leads to a series of secondary affection. There is no cure at present. Exploring the pathogenesis and treatment of lymphedema is based on animal models that mimic the pathophysiology of chronic lymphedema in humans. Currently, there are many known animal models of lymphedema, such as the limb lymphedema model of mice, dogs and other animals, and the rabbit ear lymphedema model. But most of them cannot induce the persistent and stable lymphedema temporarily, which lead to a deadlock in the related research progress. Therefore, it is necessary to improve and even create new animal models of lymphedema. This paper summarises the progress of relevant literature and provides references for further improving the establishment of a lymphedema animal model. It also summarise existing methods for evaluating lymphedema or lymphatic vessel function to provide an evaluation tool for modified or new animal models.

ABSTRACT

Conventional wisdom holds that the central nervous system (CNS) does not have lymphatic vessels or lymphatic circulation, and it lacks lymphatic pathways to clear brain metabolites. However, with the development of study in intracranial clearance, it has been discovered that there are lymphatic systems in CNS, including glymphatic pathway and it meningeal lymphatic vessels. It further reveals the exchange system between cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and interstitial fluid (ISF). It also closely relates to the development of neurodegenerative diseases, age-related changes of brain, traumatic brain injury, circulatory diseases and tumors. In the past 10 years, the research in CNS has been a hot spot in life sciences. This article aims to explain the research progress from the aspects of the discovery of glymphatic system, anatomical structure and function, and relationship with Alzheimer's disease (AD).

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the mechanism of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2(rhBMP-2)in repairing hematopoietic injury in mice irradiated with γ-ray.To prepare SRY gene probe and study the effect of rhBMP-2 in repairing hematopoietic injury in mice by in situ hybridization. Methods Twenty-two BALB/c female mice were randomly divided into the irradiated group and BMP treated group, respectively.Bone marrow cells of normal male mice were transplanted into 22 female mice post-irradiation to 8.5 Gy of 60 Co γ rays. The left femurs of the survived female mice were re-irradiated with 9 Gy 14 days later.Mice in BMP treated group were given rhBMP-2 20 mg/kg while those in control group were treated with 0.9% saline by intraperitoneal injection every day for 6 days. These mice were killed 14 days later and paraffin sections of femurs were made. The SRY gene was detected with in situ hybridization. Results There were more positive blots in the left femurs of the mice in irradiated group than those in BMP treated group(T=155.0,P<0.05).The number of positive blots between the left femurs of the mice in irradiated group and the right femurs of the mice in two groups was not significantly different(T=92.0,78.5,P>0.05).The number of positive blots in the left femurs of the mice in BMPtreated group was significantly less than those in the right femurs of the mice in two groups(T=155.0,55.0,P<0.05).Conclusions No donor cell of male mice was detected in the left femurs of BMP treated group, suggesting that rhBMP-2 promoted the restoration of residuary bone marrow cells.Thus,rhBMP-2 promotes the proliferation or differentiation of residuary mesenchymal stem cells, improves hematopoietic microenvironment and accelerates the hematopoietic restoration.
