ABSTRACT
This article focused on summarization of the available new screening technology for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) new drug, including high throughput screening (HTS), biological chip, molecular biological chro-matography, high content screening (HCS), network pharmacology, proteomics, and computer-aided drug design (CADD). And in this review, one example that we applied CADD technology (such as molecular docking, pharma-cophore and molecular similarity) in lipid-lowering TCM new drug development was given. Based on the mechanism of lipid metabolism, CADD technology provided a good method on the prescription optimization and mechanism study. In addition, TCM new drug development proposal which displayed in this paper may provide a useful strategy for screening of TCM new drug.

This study was aimed to analyze the environment and situation of patent strategy implementation of manufacturing industry of Chinese patent medicines in G uangdong province . This article pointed out that G uang-dong Chinese patent medicines manufacturing implementation patent strategy faced huge opportunities and chal-lenges. It was suggested that the fully understanding, mastering and using of beneficial conditions as well as con-trolling and eliminating the adverse factors will contribute to the better implementation of Chinese patent medicines manufacturing patent strategy in G uangdong province .
ABSTRACT
With the development of research in near-infrared spectroscopy technology, near-infrared spectroscopy are increasingly employed in quality control of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) manufacturing process. The recent researches in relative field were summarized in this paper. Perspective of near-infrared spectroscopy technology in quality control of TCM manufacturing process was also presented in this paper.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To develop a novel method to determine fastly and nondestructively the content of paeoniflorin, albiflorin and moisture in Radix Paeoniae Alba with near infrared diffuse reflection spectroscopy.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Multivariate calibration models based on PLS algorithm were developed to correlate the spectra and the corresponding values determined by the reference method.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The corelation coefficients (R2) of the calibration models were 0.938, 0.943 and 0.976, and the prediction average relative deviation for paeoniflorin, albiflorin and moisture content were 6.5%, 0.23% and 3.8%, respectively.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The NIRS determination method is rapid, accurate, nondestructive and non-pollution. It can dispose the samples without complicated pretreatment. It is qualified to analyze rapidly traditional Chinese medicine whose components are complex. NIRS can be used to control the quality of herbal material of paeony formula granule.</p>

[Objective] To compare the difference of fingerprints of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin. [Methods] The chemical components of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from 6 places of origin were detected by thin-layer chromatography. [ Results ] The thin-layer chromatogram of volatile components of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin was similar. The contents of methanol-extract and petroleum-ether-extract from Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. planted in Gaoyao, Guangdong differed greatly from those in other places of origin, which can be used to identify the herb of Pogostemon cablin ( Blanco) Benth. from Gaoyao, Guangdong. [Conclusion] Thin-layer chromatographic fingerprints can be used as the parameter to differentiate Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. from different places of origin.
ABSTRACT
Objective To study the fingerprint determination method of Pogostemon cablin by HPLC.Methods A RP-HPLC method was established with the mixed solution of methnol and 0.1 % acetic acid aqueous solution as mobile phase(gradient elution),flow rate at 1.0 mL/min,detection wavelength at 254 nm,analytic time being 50 min and column temperature at 25 ℃.Results The results of comparative analysis of 10 batches samples showed that 15 common peaks were shared by Pogostemon cablin.The common peaks were classified to two regions and the second was the main characteristic region which had an amount of characteristic peaks.All samples had the similar fingerprint features.Conclusion The method is accurate,repetitive and can be applied for the identification and quality control of Pogostemon cablin.
